Here is our completely redone version of "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold - Ultimate Edition" for our 10 year anniversary on RUclips! We hope you enjoy it:)
Description:
We would like to thank each and every one of you, our listeners, especially our subscribers and patrons, for embarking on this journey with us over the past 10 years. We hope that this revisiting of our first release brings you nothing but satisfaction.
Our original version will always hold a special place in our hearts, and it was a solemn undertaking to bring a new version to life, seeking to honor our past but also not to stifle the imagination of the present. You will find our original melodies from “The King Beneath the Mountain” and “The Dragon is Withered” included in this piece, something we could not have done in our original version since they were not yet written. We enjoyed composing new melodies for this piece to give it more of a storytelling arch.
This piece took us the greater part of a year to complete. It features all of our male soloists. We hope that you will enjoy this version and that it will claim a special place in your memories. Here’s to the next 10 great years on RUclips! Please share this piece with your friends and family to see if they spontaneously turn into a Dwarf (symptoms include digging holes, aversion to leaves, suddenly sporting an epic beard, general shortness, and compulsively streaming “Misty Mountains” on repeat) Are there any other pieces we’ve done that you’d like us to renew in the future?
Please share this piece with your friends and family to see if they spontaneously turn into a Dwarf (symptoms include digging holes, aversion to leaves, suddenly sporting an epic beard, general shortness, and compulsively streaming “Misty Mountains” on repeat) We hope you enjoy it:)
Rankin/Bass Hobbit has a sequel to this song. Never mind lol
If you're taking suggestions, please do We All Lift Together next, it fits the dwarven themes so well
Or they say "ROCK AMD STONE!!!!!!!", "GOLD!!!!!!", "FOR CARL!!!!!!!", or some variation of that
I definitely feel the urge to diggy a hole about now😁😁
🤣 I will check
This has been 10 years in the making.... gentlemen, let's honor this moment of awesomeness
10 years to make this ?
@@efaristi9737 As in Clamavi's experience and formative undertakings up until now led to this masterpiece.
Baruk Khazâd!

Raise your cups, my fellow Tolkien-folk, hail to King Under the Mountain, hail to the Singers Under the Mountain! To 10 years of fantastic hymns, songs, and storytelling!
I'll raise my drinking horn joining the toast

@@EnesLOTR a drinking horn has little to do with who you're people are, bur a lot with the time in which a piece is set
Hail to the king and the singers. 🍺
To you all respect for the 10 yrs 👏
Happy 10th anniversary to a version of a song that J.R.R. Tolkien would be mighty proud that exists. ❤️
...as they sang the hobbit felt the love of beautiful things made by hands and by cunning and by magic moving through him, a fierce and jealous love, the desire in the hearts of the dwarves. Then something Tookish woke up inside him, and he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and carry a sword instead of a walking stick...
As someone who has memorized your extended edition with the "Song of Durin" placed in the center for roughly 7 years now, I can honestly say this was so amazing to sing along to! Can't wait to see where the music goes after this. Maybe some more stories with the Kingdom of Hammerdeep??? Or even a sequel to Oshrjad Bonebreaker? Who knows! We'll have to wait and see.
Oshjrad's sequel is World Stone Keep.
I'm still hoping for an original song for the dragon-kind someday. ;-)
Honestly more of the Negankerdak Saga would be great too!
Even after 10 years,
There is Magic in that music.
And it moves through me.
You feel the love of beautiful things.
To go and see the great mountains, pine trees, and waterfalls.
To wear a sword instead of a walking stick.
Just once.
Tolkien would be proud of you and your company of merry folk.
Sons of Durin, the time has come to honor the fallen. Forever shall we remember the brave hearts that fell defending our home🍺
🍻

Salute
Ten years ago, I was in Middle-school, and it was a miserable time for me, for various reasons. Then, in seventh grade, I discovered Tolkien, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Middle-earth, which utterly transported me into a fantastical world that I cannot even begin to find the words, for how I treasure it. This epic story and history has stayed with me even now, past graduation from both High School and College, quite unlike many other stories that I have known over the course of my life.
Around that time, I also came across your original version of this song, your earliest work, and that only further immersed me in Middle-earth, I always hummed it in passing in the hallways at school (it helped keep me going even through trying times) and ever since that song, I have been an avid listener of all of your works. To see your quality continue to grow over the years has been a real treasure, and I knew from the beginning that as a group, you are worthy of all the praise and exposure that you deserve.
Thank you, Clamavi De Profundis, for ten years of bringing the stories of fantasy, religion, and yuletide spirit to life through song. I wish you the very best to all your works, and that the next ten years will be just as inspiring as the first. A very Merry Christmas to you, and a very Happy Anniversary!
You sound like me discovering Manowar in high school twenty years ago. Though I knew Tolkien in middle school. Hope everything is still well now.
Very much so, thank you. I hope you’re well too. :)
From Middle-school to Middle-earth.
In the notice, you told us to be ready for over 18 minutes of Dwarven glory. My friends, I wasn't ready for over 18 minutes of goosebumps.
I found the original when I was college.
I sang it while I held my dog as he passed.
I sang it when I walked home from the bars.
I sang it when I drove from work.
I sang it when I played video games.
Now I sing this song to my baby daughter while I cradle her to sleep.
Cheers for changing my life.
Thank you for bringing this into existence.
I await your next version in 10 years time.
Bravo! Never give up, never surrender!
I found the original when I was in middle school. I sang it throughout highschool and college. And now I sing it as I walk from my apartment to grad school. This song is timeless.
That's truly beautiful
You know the drill sir. My kids are already Tolkien fans bcs of their dad 😊.
May we sing this in the next life brother with our clan and kin for their eternal memory
The FULL Dwarves' songs, with all the parts , And Durin's Song, with epic voices and composition, The Professor would be proud, guys !
This version is missing The King beneath the Mountains and the Song of Durin :(
This has been on repeat. I went for a hike early in the morning up into the mountains while jamming to this. I sat and stared at the cold mountains while this played. Brilliant.
The first version left me with chills and excitement.
This final version left me with chills, smiles, and tears.
Nothing's better than a dwarf song from Clamavi De Profundis, NOTHING !
What I loved the most from this version is the new approach to the fragment:
"The wind was on the withered heath but in the forest stirred no leaf
-There shadows lay by night or day and dark thing silent crept beneath.
-The wind came down the mountains cold and like a tide it roared and rolled.
-The branches groaned, the forest moaned and leaves were laid upon the mould"
Also liked the addition of the little fragments from *_The_* *_King_* *_Beneath_* *_the_* *_Mountains_*
From my perspective it feels a lot more rhythmical (some parts if not all the song). I spent around an hour getting used to the new format, for I had the old one stuck in my head from years of singing it.
This is just absolute gold - no, an Arkenstone rather - just amazing dwarven music for nearly 18 minutes, topped off with the long awaited Hobbits' song. When the King Beneath the Mountains part played was pure joy. Many thanks to my favorite music creators!
The glory of Durin’s Folk is special. Eru breathed into them the Flame Imperishable, and yet we know not of their fate.
Hail! The Children of Aule; you shall endure as long as the world.
May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks. Wonderful.
The way you've combined Howard Shore's melody with your own and woven the two together is incredible. Not to mention the way you bring in your melody for "The Dragon is withered"! An absolute delight to listen to!
These are the only guys who redeemed that silly 'tra-la-lally' song from the Hobbit!
@@loreman7267 Am I the only one who liked that part? I mean... I'm pretty sure that CDP is the only group I know that could probably get away with doing it epically. I was kinda hoping for that part to show up. But oh well. 😅

Happy 10th anniversary, Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold!!!
Dear ClamaviDeProfundis, thank you so much for everything you do for us! It is a great pleasure for me to live with you in the same century 💗💗💗
When I saw this song drop, all seven of my boys gathered round. It is so awesome to have awesome Catholic music and awesome dwarf music to unite my family. Thank you thank you!!!
Agree I’m glad that Clamavi does great Catholic music and great Lord of the Rings Fantasy music as well.
This is EPIC!! I've got my axe, my hammer and all my gold...I'm ready to go, ere the break of day, to take back the lonely mountain!!
This... this brings my childhood back. I was about 10 when I first heard you guys' cover, now I'm 20 and studying for finals in college. This makes me so happy, thank you guys so much for still gracing us with your beautiful voices. :D
@@osakarose5612 Thanks, I need it :']
good luck with your finals! I was 17 when reading LOTR first time... then I was reading Hobbit and LOTR to my children... and now I am 60 and this beautiful creation of Clamavi de Profundis is the best lullaby for my grandchildren))
Hail the person who wrote this!
He or She is talented!
My beard is missing yet, but your music is not less a bless. Thank you. May your voice always creat perfection like tgis! May God bless you until the break of day and after!
Happy tenth anniversary, Clamalvi De Profundis! The original version of this song, as well as your interpretation of The Lament For Boromir was how I found your channel in the first place, and I stayed for the Christmas music as well as the new version of The Battle Of Lepanto. You all have done great work.
I can see now why most of the lyrics were left out of the movie version of the first Hobbit movie. Thorin and the rest of the Company would have still been singing it the next morning when Bilbo caught up to them after having signed the contract.
Tolkien would sure be proud, but he would probably die all over again if he read a bunch of the stories in the Hobbit fandom on certain fan fiction websites, which shall remain nameless.
I listen to this song once a month and still love it. I still get chills every time I listen to it, the lyrics are so perfect.
The Dwarves of yore made mighty spells
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep
In hollow halls beneath the fells
Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no Man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by Men or elves
The winds were moaning in the night
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light
The bells were ringing in the Dale
And Men looked up with faces pale
The dragon's ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail
Under the Mountain dark and tall
The King has come unto his hall
His foe is dead, the Worm Of Dread
And ever so his foes shall fall
The mountain throne once more is freed
O! Wandering folk, the summons heed
Come haste! Come haste! Across the waste
The King of friend and kin has need
Here at the gates the King awaits
His hands are rich with gems and gold
The King has come unto his hall
Under the mountain dark and tall
The worm Of Dread is slain and dead
And ever so our foes shall fall
The Lord Of Silver Fountains shall come into his own
His halls shall echo golden to song of yore re-sung
Is the Dwarf being depicted at 13:42 Kili?
I love the artistic rendering of Thorin at 14:47 with his new armor and cloak. He looks so regal and kingly.
Gather round, sons and daughters of Durin, with ale, wine or tea in hand. The time has come once again to honor the fallen. May our King Under The Mountain Thorin Oakenshield and his mighty Company rest forever in Mahal's loving arms until the day comes when we are all reunited with them again.
Found you all about 2 1/2 years ago, first song I listened to was lament for Boromir. Really enjoy your music. Continue to thrive always in Christ our Lord
I discovered them with the Lament for Boromir as well, for me it was the best finding of the year then!
That it is, also made me to look at Boromir in a different light then I had seen him before
@@huanneedsabettervet3554 that's how I discovered them as well and I never left.
I didn't think I would enjoy 18 minutes of this medley just going over and over again with different lyrics, but this is seriously fire
Thank you so much for all those years of dreamy, spectacular, wholesome music. It has accompanied my for so long, in times dark and bright, joy and sorrow, disease and depression. Your songs always give me power, hope and peace. Be it in the gym or in the hospital, greeting the morning or preparing for sleep, there is no place or circumstance not fitting for your songs. Rock on, keep going, God bless you all!
Thank you all for making so much beautiful pieces. I discovered you with this song and never left, because no other artists make me feel a way like I'm directly here, on Middle Earth. I'm sure Eru Illuvatar itself is shaked by your Music. I'm looking forward for the next 10 years hoping to dream and to be transported like the 10 last. Have a good holiday and christmas all !

This song has helped me through so many tough times from 7th grade (middle school) to the end of my college journey this past year.❤❤
Thank you for 10 years of greatness and in helping to kickstart my journey into Tolkien’s fantasy works! So glad this classic has been remastered.
I know that you are a humble group but you are truly one of the best artists who have covered Tolkien’s poems. You have inspired so many people with your work, talent, and have evoked countless dreams of wandering adventures to a lonely mountain (and many other tales!) far away.
God bless you, best wishes, and so excited to see future works!
Very solid, probably the best version I've had the pleasure to listen to. As per suggestions, I would love to see the Battle of Sauron and Finrod refreshed. Stories of Finarfin's children are probably one of the greatest highlights of the mythos. Your Namarie actually inspired me to compose my own version.
I can't believe this band has been apart of me for this long. Laying back with headphones on listening to that was an experience. I thought of Erebor and all the lands inspired by it and it felt like a home. Erebor, Blacksaddle, Narnia, Hammerdeep, Ironforge, and more that I can't remember. Thank y'all for all y'all do
What a beautiful remaster of a masterful song that gave me chills and soothed during a time of stress. God bless you all and Tolkien! 👼
Thank you, for 10 years of awesomeness.
Thank you for the new song and the first audiobook!
And thank you for allowing Christmas to come early!
Ten years of awsome songs by Clamavi De Profundis. Congatulations from Czech republic.
I just got finished listen to the audiobooks of the Hobbit, LOTR, and Silmarillion. This could not have come out at a better time. All of your arrangements of Tolkien's poems are good, but this is something else.
Been listening to clamavi for 7 years now. Always like a Christmas gift when they post anything!
Thats a masterpiece. Tolkien would be proud of you guys!
Wow, this is incredible! My brothers and I love singing the original 20-minute version together, especially on long car rides. This new version is immediately going on my playlist. Thank you for many years of the best dwarven music
That was the most beautiful thing I have heard In a long time. The way y’all meshed “The Dragon is Withered” and “Song Of Durin” together was angelic. God Bless your family.
And once again...

Astonishing beautiful it’s sensational. I’m astound on how spectacular this is. I only listen to this version specifically, I love the melody from “the dragon is withered” as well, it was the first song I’ve heard. This song is powerful

Thank you, thank you, thank you, the hair on my toes seemed to fall out with the amount of goose bumps I had listening to this masterpiece. thank you for ten years of music.
I mostly listen to this because the movie version isn't long enough.
I'm so glad you included the rest of Tolkien's lyrics
There's no words that can explain how amazing and beautiful this song is. Nearly made me cry of emotion. Great job, truly love it 💚💚💚💚
I’ve been listening to you guys since the beginning. And hearing this song again brought back a lot of good memories. Here’s to ten years of hearing you guys make awesome music and to hoping you guys do this for many more.🎉
This is not a song, this is a mood !
I enjoyed it.
I really like the variations on the melody. While I really liked the version you did years ago this one is a lot more interesting to listen to musically speaking. I also really like the percussion work and the bits of the Song of Durin you snuck in. 10/10
Edit: listening again I realize that's not the Song of Durin. Still like that bit though.
This will never get old not even in a 100 years
Glorious.
I just finnished re-reading The Hobbit, I felt it was necessary to play this magnificent masterpiece along. It made the reading experience more emotional. Thank You for your beautiful work!
What an incredible song. This is the best adaptation of Tolkien's wonderful poetry I've ever heard. Thank you so much.
All we need now is a version of this with the complete Song of Durin attached.
Imagine Dain and his army singing this as they marched to Erebor. Unknowing of what lay ahead.
I have listened to this on repeat, an unvalar amount of times.
this is so beautiful. it brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it.
This is a wonderful performance, so moving and with inner strength. Great voices and composition, deep bass that bounces with vibrations from the body. Thank you for this wonderful song! I can't wait to hear more of your songs.

The original version of 20:10 minutes from 7 years ago is my tobacco pipe smoking song but the new version was a pleasant surprise 🔥👌🏻
Bout to listen to nothing but this on repeat for the next million years LETS GOOOOOO
I've always been a huge fan of your covers of Misty Mountains, and this does such amazing justice to the piece, including the absolutely incredible instrumental at the beginning. A very lovely holiday gift to us all, many thanks to thee Clamavi!
I was so surprised when y'all starting using the theme for the Dragon is Withered, then singing part of King Under the Mountain. Those pieces fit so well together, it was amazing! I do miss the Song of During being in the composition, but it does interrupt the flow a little bit (I would love to see you remake that as a solo though). I discovered you a few years ago during a pivotal moment in my life, and I have been in love with your music since. The song that brought me here was your twenty minute cover of Misty Mountains Cold, so seeing your remaster was a real treat. Keep up the great scores!
This is always how I felt it was meant to be sung.
I have good news for you -- they already released a standalone full version of the Song of Durin.😉
@@LibertyGryphon Yes, I love that version. I was just wandering is they were going to do another ten-year anniversary remaster of that version eventually. That song is probably one of if not my absolute favorite of Clamavi de Profundis' works.
I've been following you since the channel was called Hobbit Lord, and you have exceeded the wildest dreams I had then :D ! Amazing rendition once again!
About pieces I would like from you in the future, I would say maybe a standalone more Hobbity rendition of the last segment, as in the books it is sung by Merry and Pippin on the Dwarves' song model at Crickhollow. Then I'd love to hear your take on both of the Man in the Moon songs (Stayed Up Too Late and Came Down Too Soon) as well as the Goblins' song from the Hobbit. And finally a sung rendition of all the riddles (except maybe the last one lol) would be very interesting!
You guys are the best! No ones does Tolkien better!
