After our epic covers of The Long Song and Abigail's Song last year, Doctor Who: LOCKDOWN producer Emily Cook and I teamed up again to bring you the grand finale of our Doctor Who Lockdown Choir trilogy! Once more we invited Doctor Who fans worldwide to sing in our online choir and become a part of a massive fan cover of Murray Gold's Vale Decem, the iconic farewell song for the 10th Doctor in "Doctor Who: The End of Time". Hundreds of fans joined in and their isolated voices from all around the world came together in harmony!
Featured on lead vocals is the amazing Jana Marie Gropp! You've already heard her before on The Long Song, Abigail's Song and many of my other productions.
Of course the brilliant Sarah Bergé returns once more as the solo violinist for VALE LOCKDOWN!
But wait, there's more!! The wonderful Pauline Gropp joins us again on Piano!

► About the original Vale Decem
The song was composed by Murray Gold for Doctor Who's christmas special "Doctor Who: The End of Time". It was originally performed by Mark Chambers, with accompaniment by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Crouch End Festival Chorus. Murray Gold wrote latin lyrics and the title Vale Decem translates to "farewell Ten".

@Ayla Alya yes I love that particular Ood song So much :) because I sang that along with Vale Decem during while I was being trafficked to help me survive and escape and the monsters didn't know what I was saying about captivity and freedom because they do not speak Latin. Ha! :) I prayed that if I could escape that I could join a Doctor Who choir. :) And now I'm a Christian and I am in a Doctor Who choir that's gonna be on Spotify. :) Yayyyy. Wanted to wave around my sonic screwdriver while singing and wearing my cross but the battery is dead and we were in lockdown so I couldn't get another one, so I didn't and I just waved my arms around instead kinda like a conductor cause its fun, to let the music move your body. I tried to replace the battery but it didn't work...it's still a sonic even if it doesn't light up. So maybe I can use it in our next song. :) We could do all the Ood songs in this choir we've started :) I feel like the Ood always have plenty of songs to sing :) just like me. So relatable. :)

I guess this is the definitive end to the Lockdown Who era, unless there are any future developments, and I am pleased it went out on this high note, no pun intended. I wish I had got involved in the sing alongs but I'm glad so many others contributed anyway as it shows how many of us still care about this show and the impact it made throughout our lives.

The truth is 6/7 years ago this would have had over a million views and would have been promoted by Doctor Who magazine. I don't know what's happened at the top of the Doctor Who creative team - but they don't seem so keen to promote genuine talent in fan projects any more - which is a shame.

The instrumental accompaniment is wonderful. By the end, this gets so energetic! Like the Eleventh Doctor arrived early. And I especially like how the sound of the choir comes out at 2:04. Well done!

David's tenth doctor looks around his tardis. Knowing his song is about to end. His era ending but always knowing that a new era of the doctor will always take over!. A memory of him talking to wilf flashes over his mind in the cafe and his own words ringing in his ears. "It always feels like dying." He feels the regeneration energy starting to build up within him. And he knows now that it's time. He looks sad and looks close at the screen and he says! "I don't want to go!" His hands start to glow yellow slowly. Suddenly he speads his arms open and he lets go! And the yellow regeneration energy fires out of his arms and head area! He feels his whole being dieing and also rebirth and as the energy's start to fade the energy damages abit of the tardis with some of the interior being destroyed and Matt Smith's face begins to appear from out of the regeneration energy marking the 11th hour! Of the doctor!

Am 10.11.2019 hat Jana in der Aula der Universität Bonn noch die Hanne aus Haydns Jahreszeiten gesungen. Das letzte Konzert des Bach-Chors vor dem Lockdown. Fast anderthalb Jahre ist das jetzt her. Wir alle vermissen unsere Musik.
On November 11, 2019, Jana sang the solo soprano in a performance of Joseph Haydn's "The Seasons" in the assembly hall of the University of Bonn. It was Bach-Chor Bonn's last concert before the lockdown, almost one and a half years ago. We all are missing our music.
