Christmas Eve 2020! After our epic cover of The Long Song earlier this year, Doctor Who: LOCKDOWN producer Emily Cook and I teamed up again to bring you a true christmas special: A Lockdown Carol! Together we invited Doctor Who fans worldwide to sing in our online choir and become a part of a massive fan cover of Murray Gold's Abigail's Song (Silence Is All You Know), the iconic song from "Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol". Hundreds of fans joined in and their isolated voices from all around the world came together in harmony!
Featured on lead vocals is the amazing Jana Marie Gropp! You've already heard her before on The Long Song and many of my other productions.
Also, after our The Shepherd's Boy, Doomsday and The Long Song collaborations, the brilliant Sarah Bergé returns once more as the solo violinist for A LOCKDOWN CAROL!
But wait, there's more!! The wonderful Pauline Gropp joins us on Piano!

I'd just like to thank you for making me look stupid. I'm a 62 year old bloke who was crying like a baby as I watched this work of beauty. I have loved this particular song since I first saw it during "A Christmas Carol" back in 2010 and you have made it even more special. Congratulations to everybody concerned, especially all those Whovians who took part as the choir.
I don't need to point out how wonderful the principal players were, they were faultless, and it's clear for everybody to see (and hear) how perfectly they performed.
I am totally stunned by what I've just witnessed. My only complaint is why did nobody tell me it even existed? I only found it by chance this afternoon (March 2022) and I regret not hearing it before.

This is so beautiful it left me with teary eyes. To see the DW family together singing a song that we all know makes me feel so happy. My grandfather's second to last Christmas we watched this. It always fills me with bittersweet memories. My grandfather, Dr Who and Christmas Carol. 3 people or things in my life that taught me compassion even to those who may have wronged you. Because in the end we all need someone to show kindness. Its simply the greatest community in the world.
