  • I've been getting a ton of questions about the Nuobell adjustable dumbbells (especially since people have been seeing them in the background of my videos). Today I give you a break down on why I think they can be great, as well as a few reasons you may want to avoid them.
Huge thanks to URBNFYT for providing these to me for review. At the time of release they're now accepting pre-orders (4 week lead time to ship):

Great review Brandon! Hilarious lighthearted dig on Coop!
I have the Bowflex adjustable dumbells and they're good, but I wanted something like those you reviewed here for several reasons. First, the adjustable mechanism is great since you're already putting your hands on the handle! Mine you have to turn dials on either end. Second, these look much more compact from end to end and mimic standard dumbells in that regard. There's always going to be play on anything adjustable AFAIK, but there's give and take with most everything.

There is probably a reason why we haven't seen drop tests with any of these. I was thinking of doing some DIY magnet plates but I don't really trust the plastic in these. I'm most likely going to sell these when the pepin fast dumbells come out with the same concept and they go all the way up to 120 lbs with 2.5 lb increments I think. I'd still give these a solid 4/5 though especially for a version 1. They definitely get the job done.
