I just got the Snode AD80s and I'd say this video is a very fair comparison. Wish I saw it while I was doing my research. So far I am happy with the Snodes and have ordered the Plate Mate 2.5 lbs magnetic add-ons to address the weight increments. Great job on the review.
How have the PlateMates worked for you? The 10 pound increments has been the one big holdup for me buying the Snodes because they seem to be better than the Nuobells in every other way (and I’m not a fan of the cage around your hands with the upcoming REP x Pepins or I would definitely get those). I was thinking of getting both the 2.5 pound and 1.25 pound PlateMates. It’s an extra $110, but this seems like the best option right now.
@@vcuheel1464 The plate mates work fine, I do find my self skipping on the 5 pound intervals from time to time as they plate mates can sometimes be a pain to take off in between sets. Overall though I am happy with the set up.
Nice breakdown. I got my Nuobells before Snode came along. So far they have treated me well, or should I say - I have treated them well and they have held up perfectly. I see the Freak Athlete piece parked in the background on this video. Are you going to do a comparison between that and the Shogun Nord-Ex next? I was contemplating between the two and landed on the Shogun because of its overall better build quality (no wobble) and it’s a bit more compact. What are your thoughts between the two because I saw that both have entered your space?
Bolt fitness sells Iron Bell adjustable dumbbells that are made exactly the same as Snodes and they are a little cheaper. They also come in 50lb or 80lb.
Just bought these with the stand - have to say that the stand is nice, but the new brackets they are using really rely on manufacturer tolerances. My cradles can still slide even when the brackets are pushed down and as tight as possible. I may just end up using some silicone to snug them up. They are super nice though!
I think Snode would be the easy choice if they make the inner rod to go to the end of the DB, make it go in 5 lb increments and maybe make the handle a bit slimmer, maybe these will be changes in newer versions in the future.
a couple of 16 inch olympic dumbbell handles with upgraded 1 inch clamps and set of 2.5 and 5 pound plates will cost you half the cost, last a lifetime and give you much more peace of mind over the durability... there is no contest. proprietary adjustable are only useful for mobile personal trainers. in that case go with REP quickdraw or rep pepin for lifetime warranty...
I been saving my money for this dumbbells these in my mind are the best. I can always use micro gainz plates so that the dumbbells don’t get bigger
Thanks for the comment! Just make sure to measure for micro gainz. Platemates are another option.
Another great review Adam. You make some great points about the benefits of each.
Thanks as always, Marcus! Hope you’re well.
You have the most informative videos about gym equipment, you're no-nonsense and get to the point! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the feedback and for watching!!

Great review! Been trying to compare all the adjustable dumbbells options and videos like this help a lot!
Thanks for watching, Scott! Glad it’s helpful.
Seem like a pretty durable option, with a few tradeoffs. Still happy with 90lb powerblocks...but have been eyeing up some of the heavier options.
Thanks for watching, Joe! PBs are a great set.
Still don’t understand why you don’t have more subs. Great video once again!!
Thanks for watching! I only published 3 videos in 2023, haha. But many more to come in 2024!

Would love to see a similar one on adjustable kettlebells
Thanks for the suggestion!

I brought a pair of snode, best dumbbells

I agree with you completely. Those would be the big 3 changes for me.
Good review 👍
Random question but how do you like your flywheel? Been thinking about getting one.
Big fan of flywheels, but especially the box.

4.5 inches is just fine!!
8:13 LOL holy moly...$80 for 5lb total magnetic weights O.o......... Yea fu snode LOL
I have these. They come with 8 total 10LB. But I bought them together with the dumbbells, which only cost $59.9. They've been quite practical so far.
@@jeffreyD9839 oh that makes it easier to swallow then
Snode much better than nuobell
These been out forever… Why a review now 🥱. At 10 lbs you will crack the thin weight plate
Because not everyone is as far along in their home gym journey.
