I’m pretty sad about that. My left eye is amber, sometimes hazel. It’s what makes me unique. Plus I have dark under eye circles so it sounds like I should avoid latisse
If you press under your eye and remove your finger, does the skin have a temporary lightening appearance then gets dark again? Thin skin is that situation. Sometimes melanin is the other reason or puffiness. I have thin skin so my under eyes are kind of purple.
my dad use to use meds for eye pressure and he had black eyes but after using thee meds you are talking about his eyes turned medium brown...they brightened up but the skin around his eyes got dark.
Years ago I used Babe Lash for over a year, my lashes were long and full and I was happy .I thought I it was safer that Latisse because it didn't have any side effects listed. Well, one day I as I was putting my make up on l noticed my amber/hazel eyes looked brown. I was crushed and so upset because I know its permanent and there was nothing I could do. I wrote to the company and they wanted pics of my eyes before and present, all I got was an apology reimbursement for the product and a bunch of free products which i will never use because I don't trust them. These companies need to be held accountable for not listing side effects. Thank you for this video to educate anyone interested in using these serums.
Lisa, I am so sorry you had that experience. Is your eye color still brown? I appreciate you sharing that this was helpful. It is sad that side effects are not always made aware.
I had the same story, but i noticed the oil is hard so i melted it and pull it out but it take a lot of rubbing an a lot patienec because the castor oil is very very hard ti get off, but everytime a little bit of the oil comes of my eyes get lighter, to my real eye colour
Thank you so much for talking about this! When my hair started thinning at about 18, ten years ago, my primary care doctor told me to buy Latisse e and use it in conjunction with minoxidil. And based on the results I’ve seen on eyes, im sure it would’ve been effective. But there was no way in hell that I was spending $80 per small tube of serum to dump all over my head. That sounded like a scam. Like in the short term, maybe it would’ve looked good, but the second i run out of it you just know my heads going to shed all that hair. I was also concerned about the color change. My eyes are a very dark blue/grey and it felt like too much of a possibility and I was still adjusting to thinning hair. Out of curiosity though, since this serum was originally meant to treat glaucoma, can it act a preventive at all? I don’t exactly know how flaucoma works.
I'm so glad this was helpful! Yes, $80 for one application is way high! It would be interesting to know if it works though. For the glaucoma - it does work to treat high pressure. Not necessarily a preventative though. Definitely don't use it without letting your doctor know if you think you may have glaucoma.
Hey Dr Rupa Wong, love the videos! I was wondering if you could do a video on keratosis pilaris or chicken skin? I would love to know if there are any ways to treat this like exfoliating or laser?
I used latisse (with some success!) for a couple of years. I have light blue eyes, and the lashes are normally VERY sparse. The serum did make my lashes grow in thicker and darker, and while I did notice some skin darkening, since it was right along the lash line where I would normally use an eyeliner pencil, I just considered it a bonus! Alas, like the lash-growing effect, the skin pigmentation also faded when I ultijmately stopped using the latisse. (Too pricey to keep it up, though I have been very tempted to pick it up again, as my lashes are thinner than ever. I can count the suckers.)
Thank you for this video, super helpful! I have blue eyes but around my iris my eyes are more gold color (I’m assuming it would be central heterochromia). If I were to use Latisse would I need to be worried about eye color change?
Can you give a review of eyebrow serum’s? Could you also touch on color change if there is any in an eyebrow serum and if there is a difference between eyelash serum and eyebrow serum.
I have medium brown eyes. Started using grande lash about 3 months ago. Now had sort of an infected eye, the whites of that eye were bloodshot. When the infection went away I could see a difference in eye colour. My infected eye had a darker circle around the iris and the brown is not as bright as the other eye anymore. I wish I knew this before.
super informative!! thinking of using grande lash serum. i’ve got brown eyes and i’m wondering if the reason why people experience side effects is because they use it at night where theyre moving and possibly spreading the product around the eye. do you think this may be the case? also would you recommend this product? thanks xxx
Hi Dr. Wong, I've wanted to ask my ophthalmologist for a Latisse prescription but I dont know how to approach the question. It's purely about vanity and even though I have hazel eyes, I dont mind if they darken (brown eyes are beautiful to me) and I think it would be lovely to have some of the pigment darkening and fat pad loss around the eyes. But one thing I've wished for, for YEARS is to have long thick dark lashes and brows. I cant think of anything more beautiful on women. I feel like my eye doctor will say no, because I have dry eye and have had other eye problems in the past. Should I just not bother?
You should absolutely ask your ophthalmologist for the prescription. They will review the pros/cons and side effects and as long as you accept the risks, then honestly I don't see what the problem would be (unless you have some ocular conditions like uveitis or macular edema which I would consider contraindications). Just ask! And personally, since I feel that many of the beauty lash serums likely have a similar side effect profile, I think it's safer for you to be on Latisse and be monitored closely by your ophthalmologist.

I have a question though - I have very sparse eyebrows since childhood and there are also eyebrow serums. I have been tempted to try them, but since these serums get absorbed into the skin, could an eyebrow serum change the eye colour too? I mean, it is different part of the skin, but still the same body, right?

Hello Dr. Wong! Your videos are so helpful! I just started a lash serum called UKLash, it does contain a prostaglandin ingredient unfortunately. I only used it for a few days when I noticed my eyelids where I applied the serum was a bit purple and the white of my eye are grayish-purplish! Is it possible the lash serum gave me these side effects so quickly? I am very afraid of the eye color change because I have hazel eyes. I did stop the serum! Do you know how quickly the eye color change side effect could happen? Thank you!
Could they darken light brown eyes? And are they causing those side effects because the bimatoprost is being ingested by the body? or because it's coming into contact with the skin? If it's the latter, then theoretically, if we make sure it only comes into contact with the lashes, would there be no side effects?
I also have dark circles around my eyes, that is hereditary because of my german descent I think, I would NOT be a good one to use this and I have hazel eyes, so let me ask you Dr Rupa will my eyes go back to normal if I quit the eyelash growth serum? I guess there is a PRICE for VANITY lol which I am NOT willing to take but since I do NOT wear make-up I would love to just have darker eyelashes but I don't think that you can DYE them or can you?
How long does it take for these serums to change eye color? Ive used grandlash less than 10 times over the last month or so and I have hazel eyes. I immediately stopped using after reading this but is it too late? Or has my inability to adhere to a regimine actually going to save my hazel eyes!?

Dr. Wong… I have GREY/BLUE eyes… been using Grandelash MD for 4mo… I’ve been applying on lower lashes & have gotten the product in my eyes lots of time… & I’m guilty of applying 2xs a day, some days. I know you & everyone keep saying blue eyes are not in danger of changing… but my eyes DO look more blue, then grey… & I’m feeling really scared. I washed my eyes immediately today… I feel so confused because everyone keeps saying this can not happen.
@@DrRupaWong I feel like I’m going ‘mad’ because I keep reading that light eyes are exempted in this side affect… but they just look more blue than grey. I’m not sure what you call the things that look ‘ fibrous‘ in the eye (like if you cut open a sand shell… but I had a lot & now the iris looks more… for last of better words, blended. If I looked at my eye REALLY close in the mirror, I saw an extremely faint yellow w/in the grey… if I had that, does that indicate I have a green eyed genetic trait in there somewhere & could darken the blue? I don’t know… I’m trying to figure this out. I AM positive my eyes look more ‘blended/solid’ in parts & so not have those beautiful fiberous bits (fiberous things being grey & a darker blue looks like it’s on a lower layer) I hope I explained in some way that you’re understanding me. 🙄
@@londonhoxley9715 Sure, I totally understand what you're saying! I would say just stop using the product as you are concerned. Try not to worry too much! You wanted to share this w/ any other blue eyed people who few they are noticing difference in colour & look of their irises. Going forward.. I’ll be using this product sparingly, making sure it does NOT get into my eyes, & will continue to use the saline.

Sometimes my eyes are blue and sometimes they are green. So I really don’t know what color they are they can also be gray. So I’m not sure what to do here.
I have bright green hazel yellow eyes. I've used grande lash everyday for half a year and my eye color looks the same still.
Unfortunately, it just depends, Katie. Were you ever impacted?
@@Rainstormys Thanks for sharing, Kathryn!
Is Carbon Black in lash glue not the same as the ingredient in mascara?
Hello, I know a case very closely of a person who is disabled due to a color change that was citrine and wants to know if there is any possibility of having the color from before because He is very depressed
Are all green eyes at risk or only those with hints of brown (hazel etc...). I have green eyes, but they don't have any brown in them and sometimes can look blue depending on what I am wearing. Thanks!
From what I have understood yes, it means all shades of green eyes. I have olive green eyes.
@@mimuiao even blue green eyes?
@@angelinamarie444 As soon as you have any green in them, yes.
I honestly just wouldn't risk it, Jena!
What about light green eyes?
Hi! Thanks for this video, I wanted to ask, would the change in pigmentation I the iris be immediate. I only ask because I accidents got some in my eye today and I have blue, green eyes and juts don't want to risk the change. Thanks!
How long does it take the serum to change the Color? Is one week enough time for it to change it? :(
This depends. If you did not notice it and you stopped using the product it should, hopefully, be okay.
Hello and Ty for this ive been using Lashbond lash serum with great results an I have green to hazel green eyes. Am I at risk?
Can u do a video about lush lash eyelash serum wild mint pls?
I will add this to my video suggestions list. Thank you!
what if i have bluish-greenish eyes with a golden ring around the pupil? Can lash serum cause the golden part to change?
I just got the grande lash serum and have only used it twice. it really irritated and burned my eyes and left me with red, puffy eyes and bags all day long. I started researching more on it and found this video which I’m so thankful for. I am definitely going to stop using it, but can anyone respond and tell me if they think my eyes will be okay if I stop, since I’ve only used it twice? My eye color is one of the only things I like about myself, I don’t want it to change 😭
Hey Adriana! I think as long as you stopped using the product it should be okay. How are your eyes today?
@@DrRupaWong they are great! Thank you for asking. I have so many friends that I refer this video to still to this day when someone tells me they use grande lash! Thank you!! ♥️✨
@@adrianalanguzzi5489 I am so glad and I truly appreciate you sharing! 💖
That is so crazy! Please keep me updated on this. If you are concerned, definitely don't use it anymore.
I AM positive my eyes look more ‘blended/solid’ in parts & so not have those beautiful fiberous bits (fiberous things being grey & a darker blue looks like it’s on a lower layer)
I hope I explained in some way that you’re understanding me. 🙄
@@londonhoxley9715 Sure, I totally understand what you're saying! I would say just stop using the product as you are concerned. Try not to worry too much! If you have to look super close to notice your own eye difference others most likely will not ever notice. BUT, you are not "mad". Trust what you are experiencing!
@@DrRupaWong I just wanted to share: I flushed my eyes w/ acidic water (from my alkaline machine), washed my eyes w/ Aveda face wash, & started to put medical grade saline in my eyes…
Today my eyes look more clear & normal. I believe all the irritation, from getting product IN my eyes, was the reason my irises were looking completely different.
You wanted to share this w/ any other blue eyed people who few they are noticing difference in colour & look of their irises. Going forward.. I’ll be using this product sparingly, making sure it does NOT get into my eyes, & will continue to use the saline.
@@londonhoxley9715 Thank you so much for sharing!! I am glad your eyes have improved.
wow! this was so interesting and informative, thank you :D
Thank you so much, Violette!

Does lashfood change the color or can change the color of the eyes?
hi, so i really would like longer eye lashes but i’m worried since i’ve got patches of yellow and green in my blue eyes would the serum affect them since it affects green eyes ?
I don't think I would risk it!
A mí me pasó, tengo los ojos marrones verdoso, y los oscureció…
Nanolash is safe?? I have green eyes
Could this change your eye color over the course of 6 days?? I used RapidLash for that amount of time but when I found out about the risks I wiped it off with water. I have green eyes but I have gold flecks in them and now I’m afraid that they’re gonna change.
Also will this affect my eye color if I use this on my brows instead?
Soph, it should be okay if you did not notice any changes and you stopped using it. Did you notice any more changes since you left this comment?
How where to buy it?
I used GrandeLash for two days and have hazel eyes. Could that change my eye color from only two days?
Hey Charlese! Sorry I am just now seeing this comment. Did you have any changes?
Are Ortho K lenses bad? They’re made of glass
What if you have light brown eyes? will they darken?
She said yes.
Hi Dr. Rupa, just started following your vlogs. I got a 2.5 ml sample of 0.01% of Lumigan. And I’m checking prices for them online, it’s showing same size but with 0.03%? Why the difference in %?
Thanks!
How did Green Eyes Change? Did the change to Brown?
They could
Thank you so much. Someone gave me grande lash MD and Thanks God I didn't use it my eyes are green.
So glad this helped, Mari. Thanks for commenting! :)
Is grandelash safe?
I have blue eyes with some brown arround my pupil
Sometimes my eyes are blue and sometimes they are green. So I really don’t know what color they are they can also be gray. So I’m not sure what to do here. I’ve been using Vegamour lash serum, thankfully nothing has changed. I just got dermelect and lash MD and now wonder if I would be pushing my luck if I used those instead.
How did you make out? I have the same eyes blue green gray. I started 3 days ago. I think my eyes are a bit greener now. Wondering if I should stop.
@@valeriepearson-vipenergeti8259 I waited a bit and my eyes are still the same color, thank God, I’ve been using Vegamour and that’s the only serum I’ll use. It’s ok, I haven’t seen any super spectacular results though. So maybe they will get better soon.
@@mamarosie1238 Thanks for the update. I decided to not use it. It also burned and irritated my eyes. The lattise that is. Maybe I will try vegamour

Do seslah sesderma change eye color?
Is the darkening reversable?
The iris color darkening is irreversible.
Please please please.. i really want to know.. how to remove eye makeup completely after lasik.. as we can't rub our eye too harsh.. safe options for remover in India..im also suffering from mild MGD .. my eyes are super dry.. i love eye makeup sooo much its my life🧡
Would this affect blue eyes that have a little yellow in the middle ?
Hard to say. Likely not, since a lot of blue eyes have that yellow ring, but can't say 100%
Hi I'm French 😊
I would like to know how to get Latisse in France and if my hazel eyes can turn green
Thx u Dr
She said Hazel eyes will turn brown with any eyelash serum.
finally having dookie brown eyes works in my favor
Lol! Brown eyes are beautiful too.
How soon would your eye color change?????
Me with brown green eyes🥲
I know. It is annoying!
Is the eye color change permanent? I have blue eyes with green around pupil do I need to stay away from these serums?
She said it was permanent.
It is permanent. I would stay away from it.
could eye colour change if it does not get in the eye ? or very little does ?
I wouldn't get it in the eye. While infrequent, iris color change did happen when properly applied to the outside of the eye.
Do the lumify eye drops have the same darkening effect?
Lol I have green dark eye not trying this xd.
So...here´s the information I could find on the Anesthesia contact lenses. Water content: 38% Material: Polymacon 62% Usage Schedule: Daily Lifespan: Addict, Dream & USA Series 6 months and Anesthetic series 3 months. I emailed their customer service to find out the Dk/t value but they didn´t respond to my email :( From what I´ve learned from your past videos it seems like they´re not a good option either. I was wondering if you could please review the ColorCL colored contacts? Their website seems to have more information but I´m having a hard time understanding it. Thanks so much for the wonderful videos and I hope this was somewhat helpful!
Are these changes in eye color and skin permanent though??
The eye color change was permanent, though it is infrequent. Again, this is only stated on Latisse b/c it's the only one that had to undergo FDA testing, but I would be cautious with all lash growth serums, even the ones you just buy on amazon or at your department store.
Wow thank you so much! This is actually mind blowing.
omg that is all SO NOT WORTH IT!!
