Big part of the reason you don't see porygon in the anime is because of the seizures caused by his episode in Japan. but he didn't cause them, pikachu did. Activists in india got the show clone high canceled for its portrayal of ghandi, and anything involving planes near buildings in a work of fiction was changed or canceled after 2001 for a while

However he drew a depiction of himself and a character from his series shooting up a high school. He then proceeded to shoot up a supermarket he worked at, killing several people and then himself
