I started roofing in 1973 and if you use lines ,I could see this being a little better. I can tell a lot of people have never put on three tab shingles. You about had to line them. Not just for keeping them straight, but when you check over a dormer and the bottom is not the same you have to know what line to start on. Very easy to come out slot over slot. When you have 4 or 5 people roofing, everyone gauges a little different plus shingles are different sizes. Looks 100 percent better with lines.
I was wanting to know when u hook the bottom of the roof for architect shingles what is ur measurements ur first is 11 then pull up to that Mark and what do u mark from there to pop lines ?
if you are a beginner then yes chalk lines i have never used a chalk line and can keep the shingles straight as an arrow for 300 too 500 feet long buildings..
I was gonna say the same thing . I'm out of the business now but I only used line's on three tab but only when going around a Dormer or other details .
I pop the first line from the drip edge at 17’5 inches and from their eavry 45 inched never had a problem depends on the shingle i think a line eavry 5,5 inches is a waist of time tbh
Ive been roofing since 80,and can lay the laminated shingles by the lip on the shingle just below nail line, and I stay as straight as gauging the 3 tab,,I have seen 2 newer guys at our company that chalk lines every 4th course and it looks good, but mine looks good too,why waste time with lines??,unless you need to to stay straight.
This product will lead to a disaster someday when somebody drops off a load of metrics. That can be avoided if you create a tape with two sets of lines that are color coded. Now if you do that I will have to sue you. Just kiddin' good luck with it. It would help some newbies I guess or on a roof with alot of dormers. You could use it as a story pole.
no matter how good you lay without line's. it's the mathamatical way. if I was a home owner. I would want to see line's being popped. I've been a roof tech for 23 years. and still to this day,I pop lines. it makes it 41/2 to 5 inches to the weather.
why? I roof every day and i have never used a chalk line and my line are straight as a arrow I can do a side that is 500 feet long and not have any problems.
Theres nothing wrong with chalking lines but if you are a true professional you would be able too bang a side off without a chalk line, what if you messed up caulking the line then your in real trouble and how can you chalk an old house that is not square what if you drip edge was an eigth of an inch off and there for you would have an in accurate line so many houses bow in the middle I've seen up too 3 inch bow in the middle starting an eigth of an inch by the gables and bowing up too 3 inch in the middle
Hey this goes out to my hard working brothers awesome tape I like the idea of accuracy and time saving methods and a tape that hooks well and lays flat saves both time and money thank you

Another roofer with no fall protection. Risking yourself and the customer
That’ house is flat. Too many pantsies in the comments. If you can’t be on a 8/12 without a harness or rope. Then get off

Great Video and best tape I seen on RUclips!
so it hooks on the facial board.....lol
facia farm boy.
zibface1 it is facia
facial is what a woman gets
Im sorry but if you have to chalk every shingle line you are in the wrong profession. First line and cap...keep your lines straight
you mark all the lines for consistency and so your laborers can nail a few on without screwin up. one line and cap..pffft shut up dude
wow has any one noticed the lack of fall protection.

You never threw any dam lines...all you did was advertise a tape measure 😢😢😅😅😅
