+King Dingin Check any of rock/metal drummers who has been playing for the same time and then compare. Nobody says Lombardo can't play Black Magic from Show No Mercy album. And that's only one example. Don't get me wrong, I love the song and Lars skills from the past, but get reasonable: he plays like crap now ;)
Your videos are therapeutic for me to be able to do every song by one of the best bands of all times just being able to escape for a while has to feel great you are very talented my friend . Greetings from the best city in the world Buffalo N.Y.
Josh: You're hammering at that snare so hard I'm afraid it's going to break. Damn, son. And your kick work, as ever, is flawless. Do you moonlight as a drummer for a death metal or black metal band?
Just saying but man, Josh Steffen here would work 100% as an replacement for Lars if he for whatever reason quits drums on Metallica! Also damn great cover Josh, you rock dude! 😎🤟
Idkw, but for some reason IVE ALWAYS had difficulty with the course in this song!!! I don't really have any issues with any other Metallica Song. I enjoy playing AND LISTENING to the older stuff MUCH MORE, and between Kill 'em and Justice I don't know which I PERSONALLY enjoy playing more, FUN WISE. But, for some reason, that chorus in Motorbreath gives me issues. I think its because when I first tried it when Lightning was released and I was first introduced to Metallica, I of course went back and bought their other stuff, that's usually what you do at 14 when you find a band you like. But up their vinyl!!! Lol. Anyways, I think I've always thought this chorus was like in 6/4 time or something off best. And, even though I know the time now, I just can't get away from the original mental block!!! Its like I think he hits cymbals TWICE each time around the count!! Any suggestions besides just saying EF IT, and strolling the ef away? Lol, but seriously any tricks on getting past mental block?
Josh Steffen Ok, Dyers Eve is the most hardest in my opinion, by the way you could do also dead embryonic cells by Sepultura, its a good drum track too. Your drum covers are nice mate, you have one more sub ;) Best regards from germany
+Daniel EDDA OK someone correct me if I am wrong but I heard from a couple of people that the dyers eve double bass part throughout the song is done by a drum machine on the record and there's no way Lars actually did that... since his live performance of it is so off. does anyone know if this is true? or just rumor?
Rob B. I think the ajfa producer Fleming Rasmussen said it was Lars but they copied and pasted bits out of small takes. I think that was for the whole album not just dyers eve
@@joetroutt7425 Love delta empire, but it's kinda difficult to hear his kit because the original song it's usually more high volume on the mix. Amazing drummer too though!!
2:04-2:16 anybody think this part would be 10x more badass with double bass and china? Iv seen lars do it live in the 90's but it would sound amazing with the cover.
Dude your INSANE! I wish I could play like this!
Keep on rocking!
Watch the Metallica medleys!
I've watched this a million times over, this is just nuts
Same
You should see Dyers Eve
I bet Urlich can't do Motorbreath any better nowadays than you. You do it as tight and clear as he could in the 80's.
+Artur Slysz Considering that was 30 years ago, not surprised.

+Artur Slysz Considering that was 30 years ago, its understandable if you have prooven yourself and told that you dont really practise.
and you are a fukin loser
A good way of receiving cancer nowadays is via Lars Ulrich's drumming
Smooth as butter, solid as rock, steady, full and compressed. Great perfoming.
Can you do Painkiller by Judas Priest sometime?
Dude, you're Lars Ulrich's shadow. Awesome.
Dude, that's not a compliment 🤧 Give this guy some credit
That intro tho!
Damn that intro

sennheiser hd201, best headphones in the world. I still buy them every 10 years or so because they wear out so slowly!

I actually kinda liked how you busted the fuck outta Lars' chops there, buddy. You rock, sir.
Hey Josh, I cant tell buy does lars do the fill at 2:03 himself or is that you? Probably one of the most amazing drum parts ever!
That one was me. I like to add things here n there when I feel it matters.
motorbreath, is how i live my life. great

Have you already done "Dyers Eve" ??
Not yet. 100,000 subs.

Keep watching you...over and over....fuuun!!!!
YOU PLAY EXCELENT DRUM!!!!!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙
Perfect dude!
AWESOME MAN =)
AMAZING!!!!!!
Perfect, exellent!
I wish I could do a cover as good as yours.
Amazing!
You should play all Nightmare long! :D
Wow, that's a good cover, man :D
Is there anything from Kill'em All (well beside Anesthesia) that you didn't cover yet? :D
Hit the lights, four horsemen, jump in the fire, whiplash, no remorse, and seek and destroy
four horsemen is on the list of covers :)
it's live version but it is :)
and I think whiplash is done as well
excelent
You da man bro!!...you should jam with metallica..🥁🥁🤟👍
2:55
Left stick doesn't even look like a wooden stick hahahaha
Awesome cover
Классная песня, я тож люблю 1983 год
What is the cymbal you hit on the right that sound similar to the hi-hat? Is it just another hi-hat or?
What a speed
2:01 holy shit
Tbh....its perfect.
Awesoomeeeeee....clap..clap...
YOUR A BADASS!!!
I don't Know, but; I saw the official drum tab. the kick drum is triplet in the verses; I can't hear that. Am I wrong?
ha ! have you tried to go mega fast drumming, ie napalm death, cannibal corpse, belphegor, cryptic slaughter ?
0:03 he was not ready
The intro is wrong but the rest is spot on, love your kit!
It's just clearer and not sloppy
I suggest a little adjustment in the audio department...
Still best drummer on youtube imo
He's the second best to Delta Empire. That dude kills every song he plays. Josh has his moments of inconsistency.
@@joetroutt7425 Love delta empire, but it's kinda difficult to hear his kit because the original song it's usually more high volume on the mix. Amazing drummer too though!!
@@nachocavallocarbonell1863 some songs are like that but most I've heard I can hear his kit well.
Nice
Just asking but if you have a second pair of hats on your right, why do you still use your stack?
The hats are a new add and they're pretty far over. At the time, it was more about placement than sound.
if this guy is being praised as a great drummer then lars is a great drummer to all the lars haters
Wowwww
Блииин, парень, респект тебе и уважуха✌! Отличная работа, как у вас там говорят💪! Ларс Ульриха - отдыхает 😁.
"Из России, с любовью"🤟
I like your comment
awesome
Nice cover nice song
at 1:55 ... what kind of cymbal is that called that your hitting ?????
That's a homemade stack. A 16" crash with part of a china on top.
Whiplash !!!!!!!!
"Josh Steffen will take your breath away!" lol
youre a beast it was great
grava a a 2x4 e The Memory Remains
Could you do some acdc covers
I hope ur kidding
I can never get that fucking intro down
Pantera - Slaughtered please.
I did that one
Can you please take over when Lars completely gives up on playing any original drums?
dats punx!!!11!!1
Well... you played better than the actual Lars, no jokes. His last know best performance was at the recording of the album itself 😅
would be nice to hear you cover some anthrax songs ;)
On the list
Fulfillment was not be given by them if could be better sound like :)
Like by Josh ? No - he is only the drummer :)
so....when are we starting a band?
2:02 🙂
You play it neatly with wrong T shirt. Anyway could you play Maiden?
I have a maiden playlist.
Do whiplash!!:D
I'm making a kill em all medley. Gonna be silly!
Awesome! Can't wait for that!!
2:04-2:16 anybody think this part would be 10x more badass with double bass and china? Iv seen lars do it live in the 90's but it would sound amazing with the cover.
Don't think it needs double bass, where would you put the china? Oh you mean with the snare? Yeah could do.
Seth Johnston Every time I hear this song I think double bass should be in 2:56-3:04
надо бы в таких видео на педали отдельный ракурс.
