My sister smoked till her third trimester so she could eat and sleep. All of her babies are healthy smart kiddos absolutely thriving!

My “friend” 🥴 couldn’t even eat during the first trimester of pregnancy. “She” couldn’t keep any food down for more than a few minutes. Baby and mom were getting 0 nutrients bc she was pretty much not eating anything. Couldn’t even finish a small bowl a grapes before it came back up. It was almost redundant to eat anything, the nausea made it to where she was basically starving. Nothing and I mean NOTHING would stay down long enough to be digested. She tried 2 different anti nausea medications prescribed by OB, nothing helped. Nothing except a little mj. Literally just 1-2 drags in the morning, like the momma in the video, and it made things so much better. No food being wasted, and I say wasted because she couldn’t even finish her food before it came back up. She had to keep a bucket nearby if she was going to “eat” because it ALWAYS came back. Shopping for food was basically shopping for the next thing To throw up. She and baby were pretty much starving. Couldn’t even take prenatals for extra nutrients because of course, it makes you puke if taken on an empty stomach. But her stomach was almost always empty because she couldn’t eat anything. And it caused her excess stress knowing that her and baby were basically starving all because of her nausea. But again, 1-2 puffs was all she needed to have an appetite and a full belly all day. She was able to successfully quit at the start of her second trimester because “morning” sickness usually subsides by that point. She used it purely out of necessity for her and baby and stopped as soon as she physically could. She would’ve likely lost the baby due to the dehydration, starvation and overall stress, or would’ve had to terminate the pregnancy for those reasons. Thanks to mj though, she was able to successfully and naturally have a healthy baby. She felt guilty hence why she quit as soon as she could, but it was all that worked. She was done trying mystery pills from the doctor and wasting time. Mother Nature of course provided all she needed in one little green flower.

Because thc in edibles is processed faster directly through the blood when ingested.
You can’t control the amount of/intensity weed as well that way + it goes directly into the blood stream. Not defending using weed while pregnant but if there is a “safer” way to do it, it’s probably safer to smoke then have an edible .
@@user-kp4rh9rk7y Not quite. If anything, smoking is processed much faster. It takes longer for the THC to be metabolized through the portal vein in the hepatic duct (your liver) versus smoking goes into your lungs where gas exchange occurs before altering the brain.
All u saying she wrong are so uneducated. My daughters mother and i were told directly by our obstetrician and her doctors that marijuana was ok and actually very good for her and the baby. She cut, alcohol and cigs soon as we found out she was pregnant, the weed helped her nausea and her appetite and general mood, furthermore the doctor expressed the positives cannabis provided to the baby. 18 years later, my daughter is smart asf, off the charts, very intelligent, forward thinking, outgoing, she is the greatness of her mother and i, she is so astute and analytical, we played music in the womb, like my kid is truly the best of us and i know for a fact marijuana/cannabis while in the womb and even me just smoking in the house has helped her develop in to a very smart and well rounded young lady. Marijuana/Cannabis helps the world n humans in all aspects. Stop the lies becuz ur uneducated.
I have cyclic vomiting syndrome which is similar to HG. I am terrified to get pregnant because the thought of going through the nausea without MJ seems straight impossible.

Im 25 weeks with HG and have used marijuana since 16 weeks. Baby is healthy and i've managed to keep down food and liquids. Lost over 20 pounds in my first trimester due to HG. Tried multiple nausea prescriptions and the side effects can be awful.

research shows cannabis may cause low birth rate. That I am aware, and I did just double-check before commenting this, it has never been proven to cause any other issue, it just is suspected that it can.
And there is plenty of research that shows weed is actually very important and good for the baby and the growing cells.

No there isn’t. I come from a long line of stoners and my mom had extreme sickness with my third youngest brother. She smoked second trimester on. He was born with asthma and was underweight Well he’s 21 now. I cannot say 100% certain that this is a direct cause from smoking pot while pregnant, BUT, out of all SEVEN of us kids, HE was the only one who has Asperger’s and ADHD. He also smokes an incredible amount of marijuana unlike the rest of us. I mean one gram infused joints ten times a day. So that’s just ten grams a day on flower alone. 70gs a week. Not calculating the infused and keef outsides.
I also know moms who have smoked with every pregnancy and their kids are OK but you don’t know the long term affects because it’s unethical to do research that way.

Pot is a psychoactive substance. It alters brain function and in a developing embryo that could result in mental issues. Trust me, my mother smoked pot when I was in the womb, and I'm paying the price for it now.
I'm not saying pot is bad, but taking any psychoactive substance while pregnant probably isn't a good idea.
let's not act like pot is a miracle substance that has only benefits with no downsides. This is bullshit. Research has shown that pot use has a strong link with psychosis, social anxiety disorders, and is overall not good for mental health or cognitive functioning. If you're of age, go for it, but developing brains, especially baby brains, should be allowed to develop properly before being altered by drugs.
I dont think anyone would argue drinking while pregnant is good. Why is smoking? Regardless of its effects, it's psychoactive and your babies development is absolutely being affected in some way.
P.S most pharmaceutical drugs aren't psychoactive, so the point abut them affecting the babies health is irrelevant. Let's not pretend we know more than the doctors. They simply wouldn't perscribe any drugs if they thought it would be unhealthy. Sure, doctors make mistakes, but believe it or not, when it comes to drugs, anatomy, and biology, they're correct far more often than you.

Dude when I gave birth in 2005 I was treated terribly for testing positive for cannabis. I had severe hyper emesis syndrome and cannabis was the only thing that helped. The hospital staff treated me like an absolute junkie and contacted CPS, it was my only child and was heartbreaking when it was supposed to be a happy time. They dropped my case 2 months later but I still have PTSD from that experience
Ya I'm still blown away that liquor/alcohol is legal and pot is on schedule as some of the hardestest drugs out there, go ahead drink all u can and get wasted to where u can't stand up/walk/see function. But God forbid u to smoke Marijuana and be relaxed and calm and may bring on a apatite.

One of my good friends growing up had her first kid when she was 14, and her last kid when she was 21, CPS ended up taking all her kids one by one after each time she had one because she tested dirty for weed. She had to go to drug court and everything. Thats all she did was smoke pot.
Seeing weed be legal now in alot of places its just crazy to me looking back how people used to be treated for smoking.
I had to go to rehab when i was 15 in 2001 for abusing drugs ( weed ) lmao. It was actually court ordered.
Its hard to believe there are still people in jail for smoking and having small amounts on them even without intent to distribute.

Story time guys. My mother smoked weed while pregnant with me and these are the notable traits it may have given me: I had horrible ADHD, growing up my body was exploding with a fiery energy which wouldn't end until I got adrenaline or put myself in a dangerous situation, I never had any regard for my own safety. I would hurl myself off of heights and jump off stairs. If we were near a body of water I was climbing a tree or a roof to jump off. I would run through peoples backyards and get chased by dogs, I was absolutely crazy. I think I've broken about 10 bones overall, I have screws and plates in my lower back and left arm, multiple fractured ankles, wrists and fingers. I almost lost an eye. I think it's a miracle that I'm still able bodied.
I loved games like every other kid but I was able to REALLY immerse myself into it, the most intense escapism. I was great at sports and I was very fit and agile. My vision is absolutely incredible even at 35 years old, I can read things from afar very well. I started smoking weed when I was about 16 and it was the most relaxed I had ever felt, like my brain had been standing up for 16 whole years and it finally got to take a seat. I never stopped smoking and I never needed meds again. My lungs are very good.
So overall my body is ageing well and I am healthy but if i never found cannabis I don't think I'd be alive. Make of this what you will.
My mom never smoked weed and this is how I was when I was a kid until I found weed and finally understood what 'normal' felt like. I'm not discounting OPs story, just sharing mine. Weird stuff this plant. Does wonders for me but wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

There are no human studies on THC and the effects it has on pregnant women because human trials were made illegal when it was labeled a schedule 1 drug. There is no scientific evidence that babies are affected negative OR positively by Marijuana usage.

I did too. I threw up every day, all day. I legit threw up 15 times in one day. I was in the hospital every single week for IV fluids. The medicine they prescribed wasn’t working and made me throw up more. I couldn’t even drink water, I’d throw it up 2 minutes after drinking it. I was 120 pounds before pregnancy and was 116 at 30 weeks. My baby was born 5 pounds. Very tiny bc I never could eat. The only thing that stopped the nausea was weed. I never smoked out of cigar or paper. I used a bong with clean water every time. She is now 5 months old. Healthy, she’s got her shots and she’s already advancing. I wanted to have another baby in a few years but they say there’s a 90% chance of getting HG after the first time. I have anxiety and PTSD from the entire pregnancy. I thought to myself “ it’s not too late to terminate.” I felt so guilty😭. I’m scared to get pregnant again bc of HG but I want just one more baby.
I had hyper emesis every time, tried everything every time, kept winding up in hospital, dropping weight every time. This did more good for me than Tylenol and zofran ever did and is nowhere near as dangerous. All of them came out healthy and strong. They approached me like some junky...NOT someone trying to eat and use their body like everyone else. I was terrified each time but i knew i needed to survive and keep them alive. With that bond, you will do ANYTHING to protect your baby, and stay healthy and alive. Its so scary what happens to women in our communities and knowing about legal kidnappings. So glad theyre ok, grateful to have been ok as well. Wishing this family nothing but joy and prosperity 💖
I smoked while pregnant with all 5 of my kids. I wasn't be able to eat or sleep. My kids wouldnt be here if i didnt smoke pot! And they are all fine and healthy grown ups now
My doctor gave me anti sickness tablets, without taking them I would be in bed all day throwing up not eating. It really saved me. I hope it was an option for you too, but that's great you found an alternative that works for you both.

I had a cerebral sinus thrombosis at 13 weeks gestation with my second child. Marijuana helps so much with the nausea. It helps you stay healthy and be able to care for your older child.

I thought I would mention that my now 23-year-old daughter is amazing. She's highly intelligent and makes over $60k/year already. She has no deficits from the CST or my marijuana use.
@@tammystratford7079 my daughter is 22 and I smoked during pregnancy when I got a kidney stone. The dr prescribed me oxycontin and I chose cannabis instead of opioids for pain control. My daughter is a shipping clerk and forklift operator for a microchip company and she manages billions of dollars in chips and chemicals a week. Shes got her own place makes good money doing great in life in general. I think that could have been different if I flooded her little growing brain with opioids in the womb.
I have hg with every pregnancy. I suffered through 3. Pharmaceuticals doesn’t help me. My last 2 I had to use meeijuana it was the only thing that helped. My children are very intelligent and have absolutely nothing wrong with them. Whatever helps moms. Hg makes you feel like you are actively dying. You can’t even drink water. I fully support moms using marijuana to help with hg 100%.
Small doses of weed for medical reasons in most cases wont hurt the baby. Smoking like train is not a good idea. As long as they aren't taking a lot of dabs or potent weed i dont see the problem.

The way the Doctor treated her when she tested positive is so frustrating. It really just depends on what your doctor believes personally and maybe what state you are in. Mine wrote me a script for medical marijuana when I was pregnant bc I was having prepartum depression with "ideations of ..." and it helped me immensely. I didn't smoke but ate edibles instead and when my son was born at the hospital no one said one word about it and nothing from CPS.
My son is 5 now and he is a normal happy kid so far in all regards.
Honestly, my only stipulation is the smoking bit for me. Why she doesn’t just eat edibles… I’m not sure.

My mom smoked cheap street weed at age 17 while pregnant with me. I was actually a 'normal' kid for the most part, up until my mom's neglect, mental & emotional abuse, control issues, and other mental issues that severely effected me, are a huge part of why I have required MMJ for 15 years, not just for my chronic & terminal illnesses, but the severe anxiety, stress, and other mental distress I've developed since early childhood. It's a FACT that I'd be gone multiple times over if not for this plant...

Also It low key is a crutch. Doesn’t mean it’s for junkies. If used medicinally it helps with symptoms. I have early onset arthritis. I use marijuana for that to help with the pain of something thats never going to go away. When I smoke or eat it i do not turn it to someone else im still the same just a little high. Even despite smoking weed for my pain im finishing college in a year with a 3.8 and a major in psych and a double minor in anthro and media.
If they let women partake they lose a lot of business. The birth control/ Tylenol for minimizing periods. The Nausea meds, the pain meds during birth.

I don't smoke anymore and wouldn't do it again while pregnant but I smoked with my first child and he is perfectly fine and an honor roll student at school so idk where the concern comes from.

It really sucks how judgmental people are towards mothers. We can do nothing right it seems and are blamed when anything goes wrong. I feel so bad for this family having to be sick the entire pregnancy when you have a child and husband and life that has to be attended to. I wish they would legalize Cannabis for the entire country, so then the testing can be done. It’s sad that she had to feel so much stress about everything when she was just trying to stop vomiting for 9 months. 9 hours is a long time with nausea and vomiting let alone 9 months! I would trust a natural plant that has existed for thousands of years vs. something concocted in a laboratory. I’m sure the pharmaceutical companies don’t want it to be legalized throughout the country because it would tap in to their profits.

I had a friend who was sick her entire pregnancy and doctors were pushing nausea meds. We would be talking and mid conversation she would vomit violently and couldn’t keep anything down… until she smoked a lil weed. She decided not to take all the pills they were pushing and instead take a couple tokes.

doctors prescribe pregnant women opioids and swear it has no negative effect on the baby. I don't believe cannabis is worse than that or even as bad as that and yet one is legal, sanctioned, and to be looked at with compassion while the other is considered sad and child abuse and illegal. Make it make sense.

Correlation & causation are to very different things.
I wouldn't advise it but millions of babies are born on the lower of the spectrum without any drugs or alcohol. This is the issue with marijuana being listed as a schedule 1 drug. Do to federal regulations there isnt enough testing to truly know the harm & benefits of a pregnant woman using THC. That type of testing is why we know alcohol is an issue.
Don't let them convince you it's the weed! I have 2 autistic boys and smoked weed due to sickness but their dad was also 49/50 when they were born which can increase chances
Plus I have ab older child with adhd but may also be autistic misdiagnosed and I never even saw weed when I was pregnant with him

I had super bad sickness with my last had had medical marijuana. Alot of people smoked while pregnant. I dont reccomend it but i dont think its the worst thing ever.
Breast milk contains substances that active the CB1 receptor, which means it literally does the exact same thing as THC.

Of course you can be addicted. Not physically but mentally.
There is no chemical link to its use causing traditional addiction, no. Any “addiction” is a result of the user and their mental state and personal self-control.
a person with a mental health disorder can become addicted to almost anything. People become addicted to things that arent even drugs at all just due to our own internal chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. Cannabis however doesn't cause chemical addiction like opiates or cocaine does.
I support her decision as other mothers can have children while strung out on worse drugs and they grow up to do amazing things

Completely depends on how you look at it I suppose but I had HG for the first four months, I was in and out of hospital for dehydration and chose just to suffer through it rather than risking any injury to my little girl. They gave me the lowest dose of the least risky anti sickness which I took for three days and then stopped out of fear she’d have cleft lip/palette. I completely understand not wanting to suffer through your pregnancy and there’s always the risk of the child being malnourished if you can’t keep any food or drink down but surely the potential side effects of smoking would also make you worry so much? I’m in between thinking it’s selfish and it’s not. Medication prescribed by doctors does indeed have their own side effects like weed would and if you’re suffering that bad… I just don’t know. I personally couldn’t justify any treatment that could potentially harm my baby I just thought “it’s not forever I’ll just grin and bear it for now” but tbh you’d probably do more harm not being able to eat and drink the whole pregnancy than smoking. It’s a tough one!
While pregnant with my youngest child, I vomited 24 hours a day for 6 full months. I was hospitalized numerous times due to dehydration. I had to work, due to not having worked enough hours at my new job to qualify for shitty UNPAID leave here in the USA. I had a barf bucket on my desk and missed so much time that I almost lost my job. I didn't eat for months, nothing.... I lost 30 pounds, and not once did I consider doing anything that would harm my child. I know this is her decision, but she's not the only person who has dealt with hyperemesis during pregnancy. Sometimes we as parents have to suffer for our children's benefit.

Demmmmm my first daughter at 7 weeks i was still smoking 🚬 weed drinking every day i didn't know but once i knew i stopped it was so hard for me i lost my appetite for like 2 weeks but later my appetite came back now am 4 months pregnant the same thing i was already 7 weeks 6 days gone and i didn't know i started feeling so sick i couldn't even smoke then i did pregnancy test and it came out positive i stopped drinking and smoking immediately because i know its bad its very hard but it worth it am now 4 month pregnant no smoking nothing

Some little slapper my girlfriend used to be friends with smoked all through pregnancy, she had a still born, not saying that 100% caused it, but we all had absolutely no sympathy for her...
my mother has smoked with all 8 of her kids never a single issue and all healthy this was mixed with tabacco aswell as cigrettes this video has made me wonder about it for sure

Nearly every girl I grew up with at least occasionally smoked when they were pregnant but nothing else and every single one of those kids is completely fine. I wouldn’t even begin to worry unless they were maybe dabbing every day and even then I wouldn’t assume the worst. Having a stress out, sick, and/or unhappy mother strikes me as more dangerous. Women behave like saints and kids still come out with problems all the time - this culture of always blaming the woman’s actions when something is wrong with the baby is tired and old fashioned in a gross way.

I had the same hyperemesis gravidarum during the early days of pregnancy and it’s no joke. I was so close to terminating because it was unbearable and I thought I was going to die. I didn’t eat for weeks and months only IV drips. I found out too late that cannabis could help. The anti-nausea meds didn’t do anything. Made it worse even. I am fully behind her smoking pot to help. Medical professionals are useless and judgemental.

I had crippling sickness from pregnancy, I was in bed pretty much at all times as I would throw up. I just took the anti sickness tablet the doctor gave me and my baby is fine :) I hope she knew that was an option as it meant I could eat more and be sick less. But it's good if weed has no negative side effects to the featus. I didn't know it can be safe.

Yall know how how awful that kind of stress on the body is way more likly to be worse. Any affects Marijuana can have on your baby are still statistically unlikely. Like most treatments, its the risk to reward ratio. Marijuana has been around about as long as humans have, the idea of it in pregnancy is not new, but it is extremely understuddied. Just like pregnancy in general. Were all doing the best we can with the information we have available.
