Whats even more horrible was that when Chyna was fired from WWF, the contracts at the time did not allow wrestlers to move over to over companies for at least a couple of years due to wcw vs wwf. I remember watching this documentary when it came out and crying my eyes out by the time it ended. I wasn’t watching when she was at her peak, but her story is one of the saddest stories in wrestling. She had everything and lost it all. All because she was betrayed by the man she loved. I truly believe she never got over that, and that’s what led to her downfall. What Stephanie and Paul did was really messed up. The least they could have done for her was apologize and gave her the induction she deserved when she was still here.

From the various docs I watched this summer about her, I think Paul was just one of many men that let her down and broke her. First was her father then Paul and those around her that failed her or only furthered her along that destructive path. Even X-Pax said they shouldn't have been together as they were both heavily addicted to drugs at the time they were together. I had thought she was doing well in China (or Japan, can't remember where she was at before coming back to USA) but seems she was spiraling there as well with a s*icide attempt but then that "manager" that seemed more interested in his own agenda instead when she came back to America, only furthered her to her end. She wasn't ready for a comeback but he kept pushing her and still has her ashes that he's making money on (unless he finally relinquished them to her mother).

Chyna was so impressive that she truly transcended the boundary between 'male' wrestler and 'female' wrestler and for a great part of her career she was just Chyna, a wrestler. After her surgeries she was genuinely much more attractive and they pushed her into the women's division where she squashed everyone. This, with the end of her relationship to HHH, and the drama/beef that materialized around that (with Stephanie too), signified the end for Chyna as a character and a wrestling product.

Its sad because if she was born 25 years later and only just came to the WWE, she would be getting a complete different reaction than what she got in the 90s. She was questioned openly by interviewers about her physique not being feminime. People saying she was a freak or manly. What Larry king said there wasn't a question it was loaded to belittle her no matter what her reply was.
But when you compare her to every other WWE diva there's ever been she's the most impressive and in my eyes beautiful. Nowadays theres many attractive females online who make a lot of money and have a lot of admirers for having the same look that chyna pioneered.
Just goes to show how thickle and shallow society is. And how quickly and drastically a certain point of view can completely change.
Ultimately she was kept down and condemned by 2 groups of people. Firstly men who felt intimidated by her. Manily weak men who prefer to be able to physically impose themselves on women. They couldn't do that with chyna. and secondly would be women who were jealous of that same fact. Jealous that men couldn't push her around. So instead of praising her for this strength, they would be little her saying she wasnt feminine.

The thing about addiction is that the time period where the individual is doing well (as you mentioned she was) can actually end up being the most dangerous time because a large percentage of drug overdoses occur when addicts are clean and have been doing well for a while and then suddenly relapse after that long period of not using. When they relapse, they take the same amount that they always did in the past which previously was not all that much, but because they've been clean for a while, their tolerance to the drug drops dramatically, so the same amount that used to do be a normal dose ends up killing them.

There is nothing wrong with being 5'9,chistled,and muscular like Chyna. There is also nothing wrong with being 4'11,and fit like Terri Runnels. Chyna's entire message was that women can be whomever they are,and be beautiful.

I was a little girl when she started and at the time I loved Xena and Chyna was like the wrestling version. If it wasn't for Chyna I don't think I would love WWF/WWE like I did.
    RIP queen💜🙏

That’s always how you can tell whether it’s a work or real when someone leaves a wrestling company. In a work, the announcers and talent will badmouth them/talk about them during a show. When it’s real, they’re erased, like they were never there at all.

Not only did she have to put up with being badly mistreated by getting into a personal relationship with HHH, various from WWE etc. but she also had to deal with a step mother and several stepfathers, a car crash on her way to work as a flight attendant, and a whole load of other stuff. RIP Joanie and thanks for the entertainment.

I really feel for her… I been watching wrestling since a young girl and when I first seen Chyna..my mind was blown…at first I wasn’t sure if I like her or not but she grew on me and she did amazing stuff in the ring… it’s just sad when you hear the other side that we don’t see on camera then really gets you…they did her dirty and they basically kept her out of the Hall Of Fame is a shame…she did so much that she deserves her own spot.

If you are a old school WWF/WWE fan there is no way in the world you wouldn't know who Chyna was and what she meant to the attitude era and the company. I tuned in every Monday night to watch the rattle snake, Chyna, the rock, HHH, the hardy boyz, the dudly boyz, the undertaker, kane, booker T and the list goes on. It sucks to see such great talent let go because a little love scandal.

I relate to Chyna. She never felt loved or accepted or liked how she looked. She finally felt loved only to be abandoned by Hunter and the friends she had in the company. It destroyed her. I’m no Chyna but I’ve been looking for love my whole life and it destroys a person.

Had the biggest crush on chyna look at her she had the looks the body she stood out above the rest inside the ring and out with playboy covers and being the woman to enter the men's royal rumble match and winning the intercontinental Championship also winning the wwf women's Championship she was a true trailblazer and icon RIP ninth wonder of the world gone but never ever forgotten ❤🙏🕊

Watching women like Chyna on TV as a little girl taught me that women can be whatever they want. Because of that exposure I had no fear working in male dominated professions. Currently working on a parts sales counter but I've done a lot of construction and male dominated sports... Subconsciously because I saw women like her paving the path 😢😢😢 I wish she was here now.
Vince McMahon is going DOOOOOOWN and she probably would have been in the #metoo movement. RIP CHYNA I will never forget her.

Chyna stood her ground with all the top folks like Austin, Undertaker, The Rock, Mankind, DX and whoever. There was a fit for her within that whole universe. How she is remembered and was treated is very distasteful considering how valuable and larger than life she seemed at the peak of her time there.

When you realize what a wonderful and genuine woman she was the depths of how tragic her life ended really come into focus. I had no idea about her story or how sweet and caring, trusting or loyal she was. People like her don’t deserve to be treated like that or have their life end like hers did. It really is a cruel tragedy. May God bless her and may she rest in peace. I hope she is getting all she deserved on the other side.

So tremendously sad, how, if she let's him, a man can ruin a great woman, Chyna was an absolute phenom, I learn from stories like hers and other women's to never love a man so deeply, you're broken if it ends, love yourself above all, build yourself and your legacy will stand with or without him, R.I.P Chyna❤❤❤
