As a tech, with sucking out a little bit of brake fluid, never done it and never had a problem over filling the reservoir. Also with striping out the hub, only seen it once, where rotors and bolts were barley replaced. Just brake it lose with a ratchet then loosen with power tool. Thats what I've always done and never had an issue.

It only happens when someone tops off the reservoir when the pads are near done. It only takes once to make you think twice :)

Question on brake pads. We have a Macan S , have not done the brakes yet. The factory pads make a mess with brake dust. What pads would you recommend as a better option. Thanks

I’ve not tried any pad compounds other than factory pads on the Macans just yet. There are ceramic pads out there for the Cayenne but I did not like how they responded when towing a trailer so I took them off and deal with the brake dust. There is a wheel cleaner called Tuga that allows you to spray it on and hose off 99% of the brake dust making it much easier.
