Thank you for these recommendations! Great list of inspiring books! I would love to hear about the watercolor books you recommend as I mostly work with watercolor.
Give Laura some ❤ and gratitude. She so gently generously shares peeks into her processes and ideas. All it takes is a 👍😊. Thank you Laura for all the inspiration and the work you both do, being here. Px
What a lovely in depth coverage of the diferent styles of book that can inspire. I would love to see something with the themw of mark making. Thank you, very inspiring.
After watching a previous video from you I got the book Botanicum from our local library - it is full of fabulous shape ideas. Already had Still Life on my wish list and have now added Print and Pattern: Nature. Thank you for the recommendations.
Fantastic recommendations Laura. Thank u for sharing. Can you please also share watercolour book recommendations. Very grateful as this medium is such a challenge to learn ❤🙏❤🙏
Love that Spectrum inspired you too. It started inspiring me as I was flicking through it, it’s going on my table within easy reach. Such a beautiful book that I want to reference more.
All of the "Welcome to the Museum" series books are so gorgeous. And thank you for introducing me to some new titles here! Off to go find them at the library!
Dangerous video to watch! Botanicum is sooooooo good for inspiration and colour. I need to buy it - last time I had it it as a library copy! Thanks for making this video :)
Beautiful diverse collection. I'm behind on video watching at the moment for two reasons. The main reason is I have a very short attention span since my dad died & it's even shorter if something else is on my mind. That leads me to the work I'm doing in my garden to get it sorted out & a new shed installed as mine leaked.
Very interesting selection. Wish our library was more diverse, but it (and the whole system in our area) mostly focuses on kids when it comes to art. So it had only two of the books listed. Would love to see your books on mark making and watercolor! Thanks!
This was great! I too collect books that inspire my art and one of my favorites is called “Around the World in 80 Plants” by Jonathan Drori and illustrated by artist Lucille Clerc. I love being inspired by other artists, too, and you have been one of the most inspirational for the kind of art I do. So, thank you for this.
Hi Laura Thanks for sharing these. I am really enjoying your series of book reviews. So inspiring May i suggest you do reviews of books with birds in them if you know of some" Also there are some books by Annie O'Brien Gonzales Bright and colourful :The JOy of Acrylic Painting: and "Bold Expressive Painting" (you may know of these )
très beau livre Laura. J'aime aussi avoir de beaux livres dans ma bibliothèque qui m’inspire dans mon art et les feuilleter le temps d'une pause. belle journée à toi.
A home with a packed bookshelf is a happy home! And I love how art-making encourages us to get books out and leaf through them. Art and Books - a match made in heaven!
Fabulous! Thanks for sharing what helps to inspire you. Mark making books, please! I had no idea there was such a thing. But inspirational ideas would be so helpful. Thank you for all you do to help us unleash our creativity. ♥
Thank you! Not really sure there is such a category of book, but I have some books that come to mind when I think about mark making and developing a visual language so I’ll share those!!
When I started painting I bought watercolor books. They are too detailed for me now. Since then I added different color supplies. The: Print & Pattern, would focus me best. For a couple of years I’ve journal crafted. My natural styl is to want to simplify 💕🌼🐾💚
While I love the few watercolour books I have, I don't refer to them as much as other types of books and I certainly relate to the quest for simplification!!
Thank you for these recommendations! Great list of inspiring books! I would love to hear about the watercolor books you recommend as I mostly work with watercolor.
Thank you, I'll definitely keep watercolour related books in mind for a future video in the series.

I've been looking for watercolor books. Do you have any recommendations on specific artists, or group of artists?
I don't have as many watercolour books as other books, but I will put together a video soon! Stay tuned.

Mark making please
I'm excited for the mark-making video!
I’ve searched far and wide and can’t find the Gypsy book. It comes up as $2400 on Amazon. Hang on to your copy!
Wow, that is crazy expensive. I know that it is out of print now and hard to get a hold of, but didn't realise it was that hard!
Abstract, watercolor, Mark, making book if there is such a thing would be great
