I can highly recommend the books of Alan Marshall if you’re interested in printmaking - Suffolk Jewels, The Artful Hare, The Printmaker’s Cat, The Illustrated Garden, Beauty of the Beast, The Elegant Fowl - the list goes on. All deliciously curated books highlighting the work of different printmakers, a real inspirational feast.
Thank you for your videos, I’m enjoying them immensely 😊

glad you are back ❤ I always love book recommendations. I laughed about the 'Alex' part as I recently decided I need one - I start to gather a more serious amount of supplies and finished or wip artworks and right now they are all over the place, which frustrates me a lot. Thank you for the video. The mushroom book is gorgous.

Funny enough I just shared a video myself on books and come to find now at the same time as you! So I only got to watch yours now. Lovely to learn about Mary Fedder’s work I didn’t know her before but found the art very appealing to my taste. I am also very into folk art and love Imagine a Forest, so I may need to get the other one you shared now!

I really love this video! An excellent selection of inspirational books! ✨📚✨ I have been looking forward to seeing another one of your book recommendation videos! I particularly love the Ravilious book, and I was so pleased to see that you featured the Studio book that I gave you too! 😊 I totally agree with you about the Alex plan chest, so useful & one of the few modern non-vintage/antique pieces of furniture that I have in my study.
I do love having a peek around an artist’s studio, and I always love seeing what books they have, thank you for sharing some of yours & giving us some insights into your thoughts on them as well! 😊📚📖🧡😘 xxx

I get the most from people who di art nothing like mine. If they use different colors, layers techniques I can learn more. Looking at their work gives me ideas I can try in my own work. A.K.A Lois Dodd has a wonderful loose way of working that almost looks like pictures color blocked then built on top of. Can't wait to try. Very inspirational.

I would love to buy some bookmarks for my 3 nieces who are avid readers... one works for a publishing company... one is an academic whose father deals rare books and the other who I used to catch bumping into walls while reading her Harry Potter books... I think your style is so them... if that makes any sense to you. BUT they cannot be the same bookmark... and I would HAVE to keep one for myself. I will wait to buy the card set until I can also buy a bookmark set.

I bought that Eric Ravilous myself a few weeks ago. Never heard of him before but suddenly I'm finding books on him, so I assume he's one of these artists that's had a bit of a critical re-evaluation. The book is beautiful and was budget friendly.

If you like Eric Ravilous and print making id really recommend Edward Bawden by James Russell its a beautiful book. The watercolour lanscapes are beautiful and like you said with Ravilous its like he uses watercolour like pencils. You can tell they were both taught by Paul Nash! Lovely book reviews thank you!

Glad you are back on RUclips Natasha, and with another great book review,I just ordered the "secret lives of colour book" and the one on Mary Fedden.the mushroom book would be a good one for Kriksis I think. Its great to hear why these books inspire you.I love Eric Revillos too, especially his engravings and prints as they are so striking visually.I think I might order the one on finding your artistic voice,as it sounds really insightful and inspiring. The bookmarks look stunning as well.(matt)P.s Glad you are getting back into Lino Cuting/printing the textures and marks and patterns that are in your work especially in your bird paintngs will realy translate well into lino prints,I have the Sam Marshall book too and it is a really great book.Hope we get to see some of your lino prints in the future.

@@NatashaNewtonArt I have the Sam Marshall book because before things changed for my life, back in the day I used to make prints, using a combination of mono printing and screen printing and would add final elements by lino printing,I loved the physicality of lino cutting it's like carving in 2D if that makes sense,Sam's book is brilliant and I hope it inspires you as well(Matt)
