As I have the MAX and Taurus I am contemplating to upgrade to the Tac but I will loose a lot of cargo space.... But is the Tac a good loner ship or daily driver ship?

Decided to play this and got the Intrepid starter pack for the lti and while the game was downloading I upgraded to the 325a cause I agree this thing looks great. I went with the bright red paint and wood grain interior. So classy 🥂
Ten years of insurance should be plenty for most people since, by then, you'll probably have built up enough wealth to cover any costs when it expires.
So if I understand, actually my stater is an Avenger. I upgrade with the Intrepid to have the LFT insurance, and then I upgrade again to the Spirit because I want a Spirit C1 with LFT insurance.
You said if you melt your package and turn it into store credit, you can't buy the warbond. Then a bit after that you said that you should melt your package and buy the warbond?
What you said about upgrading a ship with less insurance to one with more insurance and keeping the better insurance is not true. I had a freelancer starter pack, then I upgraded to Zeus cargo, which had 10y insurance but I got the basic 6 month insurance from the freelancer package...
So I just revised my whole hangar. You have to melt your original pack with less insurance and make the new pack with more insurance your “source” ship. Then you can upgrade to the ship you want and the LTI carry’s over….. the problem is you need to be willing to invest new money…. When you melt your original pledge you cannot apply store credit to the warbond with 120 or LTI insurance……
@@smokestacklightning we really don’t know that…… what we do know is CIG stated that when 1.0 is released and your ship is destroyed without insurance you will have to earn are large percentage of the value of your ship to claim it again. Sounds like insurance is pretty important to me…..

@@_TrueDesire_yes, which is what infinite space said. It’s always the first ship in the lines insurance counts. If the first ship in the chain has 6 months then so will the upgrade etc.
I give myself a yearly video game budget of $150 and I rarely buy games at full price so a good portion of that money ends up on Star Citizen and related peripherals. It's a number I'm comfortable in spending on this hobby.
Hi. I have the avenger titan with a squadron 42 (upgrade from an aurora) if I melt titan do i loose Squadron 42? What is my best option now to get Spirit. Do i have a chance to get LTI by buying Interpid, melt it with avenger and use this money stored in website to buy a Spirit and have lti in it ?
Keep the Avenger starter pack with s42, upgrade to spirit with 120 month insurance, you will get 10 years, good enough. If you melt it, it will be in buy bucks, than you can buy new intrepid and upgrade to Spirit and you will have LTI but no s42, but you can always buy back that when s42 is out and you get avenger gratis :D
So I started with a 100i pack with 6 months years back. Upgraded that to a Titan then to a C1 spirit. A few weeks back I ccud the c1 to a Zeus. Before applying the upgrade I was thinking man. I really want LTI. So I melted my original game package. I then purchased the intrepid starter pack and used the store credit to upgrade to the c1 once again only this time I have the ship showdown paint for it. I will soo apply my original C1 upgrade to the Zeus. My question is will i have any issues with my LTI transferring since I bought the C1 to Zeus upgrade while owning the previous game package? I don’t think so because CCU upgrades aren’t tied to game packages when not applied correct ?
You will have no problem. If you have LTI on the package that will carry over. The best insurance in the chain will be the one that applies to the ship. It does not matter what you had when you bought the ccu.
@ ok Thankyou! The whole purpose of me melting my original pledge was to get the LTI pledge and then apply the Zeus upgrade. I got the ES model because I mostly explore. Hopefully it’s a good choice. :)
@@JadedMantis13 another question for you. Since I re upgraded my Starter to the C1 ship showdown with the purple paint. If I apply my upgrade today to the Zeus does the ship showdown C1 paint transfer over to my Zeus package ?
@@AceSuperiority The paint is specifically for the C1 so would not work on the Zeus. I am not sure about the C1 paint as I have not applied my upgrade that has it, but I do have some other BIS paints and those exist separately on my account apart from the ship itself so I still have those even where I no longer have the ship. I assume the same would be true for the C1 paint. The reason I am doubting is that I had those ships at the time the BIS paint was issued. Did not get it by buying best in show upgrade so cannot confirm it works the same way.

You need the star citizen dowload thats part of the starter pack untill you are conceirge (1k spent) then they give you the digital download with vip and you can then melt the starter pack, but thats alot more i wouldnt worry about it. They have a starter right now with lti the intrepid. You could melt starter for credit buy the intrepid with cash and use credit to upgrade intrepid to something better for alot cheaper

This is a bit of a loaded statement. One i fell victim to because they dont do a diligence to the new players to inform us of roles and careers. So to the unknowing its best to do your research and figure out what role and careers you want to chase. Me i have the 600i explorer, C1, Inferno, and Vulture. I think i used my 600i once in several years, C1 is my daily hauler, and i use my vulture all the time for scraping. My inferno has so much dust on it, it may need a new paint job. Lol well in its defense the bounty hunter npc missions are so bugged ive lost interest. So the best package is what? Well the question is, what is it you want to do to build your money? Push cargo or hunt down npc’s?
Everytime i consider actually trying this game, i'm turned away by the way it works. I remember how people where foaming at the mouth when they'd explain to you that the ships weren't actually going to matter in the final release, because you'd be able to lose them. Yeah? well what about now? how boring will this game be when 90% of the player base already has sick ships at launch. I knew there was absolutely no chance they'd actually let you lose the ships you pay for.
They can make ammo whatever price they want it doesn't matter because at the end of the day I get all my ammo or 90% of my ammo from the bunkers the railgun ammo that's a little different you know I'll pick that up at the store but that still expensive and it's still going to go up but that's that's not a problem if you know what you're doing and it doesn't take long to know what you're doing
Dude, why bother with LTI insurance, completely useless for small/medium ships (and then starter packs) they already confirmed it will cost very few credits per month😅

Not really worrying about insurance in a game that is still in alpha after 12 years and that might never be released due to the mismanagement of Chris Robert's and CIG. More than 1000 employees and very little progress... at some point this project might be shut down and never see the light of day. So worry less about insurance and enjoy the moment, you never know if there is a tomorrow... neither in life nor in this game.

No. You can't have LTI later on the ship, if you don't have it on the start ship.

You must have a starter package, it gives you access. Just owning a standalone ship wont give you access.

I have a big fleet and I still enjoy the game. It doesn't matter that you have all the ships. What matters is enjoying the moment. o7

Because i do LTI chains. Buy a small LTI token then upgrade to big. For example i bought LTI Fury and chained it for 480e to Polaris with LTI. o7
