    WARNING! Do NOT do this to your Game packages, special vehicles or non-melt safe vehicles unless you know exactly what you are doing! Do your due diligence when you melt and upgrade to protect your investment! If you melt a game package it may revoke your game access (unconfirmed). I CLEARLY state the pulse pack is NOT a game package (includes game access) Here I upgraded my game package and melted it because at the end of Invictus I will be getting a higher tier starter. I have no idea what your individual packs or hangars look like, so I cannot say my specific case will apply to you, this is just meant as a heads up and quick crash course. I cannot say if this could/should be used by everyone! I make no guarantees and I am not responsible for any lost money, as CIG has SEVERAL warnings about the packages and values before you have to enter your password to confirm. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ENSURE WHAT YOU ARE MELTING AND WHAT THE VALUE IS. ASK FIRST if you are unsure, and spend after you are 100% positive. If you need help, I am more than happy to answer and guide you in the discord! PEACE!

    A very IMPORTANT WARNING: DON'T MELT YOUR GAME PACKAGE. Years ago, I melted my game package to upgrade another LTI ship and later found myself needing to spend another $45 to play the game, because the game package(obviously) contains the game (digital copy). It was a dumb mistake, but be mindful.

    • @HyperLethalNova
      @HyperLethalNova  2 месяца назад +5

      And in the very same public statements, they talk about continuously increasing insurance rates… I would equate paying back a majority of ship value to permanently losing it... Just like a “totalled” vehicle in real life insurance. This video is not to sell LTI, it’s meant to help those with money tied up already to protect their investment with LTI. Beginners, you don’t NEED LTI, but if you are spending a lot on the game, I would in that case recommend it.

    If you buy a pack that includes paint skins, do you lose the skins when using "Exchange" to transfer the LTI to another ship? I've often wondered about how to change my Ares Swords of Fortitude pack from 120 months to LTI. If I buy the Pulse plus Dominion paint pack, it seems that the paint would be lost in the LTI transfer. Usually, CCU upgrades allow the paints and other bonuses to be retained.

    • @HyperLethalNova
      @HyperLethalNova  2 месяца назад +5

    You sure about the LTI stuff and losing your ship or not being covered? I’ve been a backer since 2014, they’ve always downplayed LTI saying insurance will be inexpensive and mostly an afterthought? Did they change that recently?

      Ill make it very easy for you to understand.
      Say you paid 40 for your original pack. Then you paid for upgrades. The upgrades you used were likely warbond. Those sell at a discounted price. So you pay 5 dollars for something that would normally cost 15 or 20.
      In this case you would get the 40 back, plus the 5 dollara for the upgrade. Not the 60 dollar full value of the ship if you paid full MSRP.

  • @TheGreatScott

    Honestly still don't get LTI and in fact CGI havent fully explained it ever at any point, seemingly something they havent made their minds up about.
    IF it means you can replace ships constantly, and they you must pay for non-lti, this will be a serious problem for two major reasons:
    1) This game will never be 100% bug free, ever. You will crash for reasons beyond your control, you will lose your ship, it will end up "unkown" you will need to CLAIM it. And if you are now expected to pay....not good
    2) What is going to happen if you are playing with a non-LTI ship and you crash and die and crash and die and you now have zero money. You cannot play? You cannot play.
    Its a dumb idea in that form
    What it should mean, is that you can claim INSTANTLY and for FREE forever. Thats something that could be a premium. So non-lti would be claimed like the current system with a cooldown timer which can be shortened by credit spending.

    • @HyperLethalNova
      @HyperLethalNova  2 месяца назад +5

      You say that, but here are plenty of permadeath games people pay for already. We need to be very vocal about it so CIG can see what an issue it is. Im just saying, for people spending alot of money, the added protection would be 100% worth it if it truly is lifetime insurance. And true, the game is in alpha, even if it were stated clearly, they could change it again at anytime. This is also a big deal because they have 100% confirmed you will not be able to get LTI at all after the game comes out. So you can gamble on that, but others dropping $100s or $1000s? They would have to be insane to gamble that on 50/50 odds. LTI isnt for everyone, but if you have a 390 and you dont try to LTI it, you are an idiot. This videos is so people understand what it is, and help them better decide if and how they will get it. $25 to insure a $1000 ship? are you seriously arguing that isn't worth the peace of mind and future benefits? That's TERRIBLE advice.

    • @TheGreatScott
      @TheGreatScott 2 месяца назад +1

      @@HyperLethalNova Indeed! And the video is excellent thank you for it!
      I am not a fan of permadeath unless done very well, and obviously in a bug free environment! Its the classic case of trying to keep everybody happy juggling balls that are in fact snakes on fire.
      It's clear they want to try create a sense of ownership and reality to guide decisions to be more "real". So flying like a mad person ramming things will not be viable, nor will not thinking about systems you enter with high combat danger while flying a ship with zero defence abilities...
      ...this in turn encourages group play and crew.
      I still do not think the LTI idea is a good one though, specifically because of the having paid for a ship that you then potentially cannot use at all issue. However, they are in too deap now having used it as a major marketing ploy....soo....*sigh*
