    That sleeper cab- wow guys, just wow! That bohemian-style bed cover accented with plain single-color pillow covers-pure creative genius. Heather you know you'd make a great interior designer had you not been in the trucking world. This is how a sleeper cab should be. Great job guys! 👍

    Man I do miss driving a semi! I drove with my late husband. We always drove a Freightliner and we had it stocked (meaning a portable toilet, shower, mini crockpot, microwave, tv and so much more! I even cooked a roast (completely with carrots, onions and potatoes) the motor! We didn’t have the cabinets like y’all, it was just factory built.

    Love the sleeper. Having a sink, and the freezer makes life much more pleasant. I've lived in a conventional OTR rig, wished I had such a nice living space.

    This video is very well done. I have used some of your storage ideas in our truck. One thing my husband is particular about and really makes a stand on is that anything that is heavy or could become a missile in the event of an emergency stop or accident has to be behind a cabinet door. For us, that means we store clothing and lighter items in the upper bunk area and canned goods, appliances, and other heavy items in the cabinets. That can be a pain in the rear when you have to drag them out to use them but I guess it is safer. I hope our next truck has cabinets in place of that upper bunk but, like Jason, I wonder if we'll lose storage space or have trouble finding things.

    • @TheCraftyTrucker
      @TheCraftyTrucker  7 лет назад

      Julie Vestal Thank you Julie! That makes a lot of sense to store heavier items in cabinets. Our next truck will have cabinets instead of the bunk. Bolt does make a conversion that they will take the bunk out and put cabinets but it costs around $2800.

    Evening folks, after I got your reply to my reply I thought of something you might want to think about using in your overhead bunk, a little item called "cheesecloth". It's a fine netting that I use over the furnace duct in each room to catch any little bits the furnaces filter missed. I've only seen it in white. You could attach one end of it to either the top or the bottom of the bunk front area. Then take the other end of the material, roll it, and attach it to a 3/8 in. diameter wood dowel that could clip into place. It may not stop heavy items from flying about but it certainly would slow them down. Lighter things, not a problem, it would be like an arresting cable on an aircraft carrier. I live in earthquake country so I'm used to figuring out how to keep things where they belong. You folks seem to be truly ingenious in the way you have made your home both lovely and practical. I'm sure that you'll come up with something better than cheesecloth but perhaps it's a starting point. Thank you again, Bonzo.

    • @TheCraftyTrucker
      @TheCraftyTrucker  6 лет назад

      Bonzo Schlacendaker Thank you Bonzo, that is a really great idea using cheesecloth! We never even thought about that as a solution. We eventually would like to remove the top bunk and add cabinets. We just have to find the time to do that. Take care & have a good week :)

    Last night I viewed the video you made for your 2019? 2020? truck. Huge difference between that and this. I didn't see the bathroom/shower in this one. I do like the bunk storage in this one. That's a lot of space up there. I do agree with Heather it looks like the new truck has a longer counter top space.

    Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home / office. I knew from the moment the curtain Drew back that you were good Folk. From your adorable puppy to the bedspread and the way everything was laid out and decorated I would have been proud to call that home! I believe you to have restored my faith in mankind to a good degree. Any concern about having to stop fast in the contents of the top bunk being airborne? I'm sure you folks maintain plenty of space in front I've been a professional driver myself for many years and know how small annoying objects can suck up your breaking space very quickly and then do things that no human should. All the same I give you all a 10! God's blessings on you both, I'll be looking for future videos.

    Definitely know that Landstar emblem even if it is covered up.. I had a hino with a 98 sleeper.. I love all the space I have and I do agree with you about having the cupboards above the upper bunk were such a pain in the butt to get out anything... I had the double closets on the one side Where your one closet and refrigerator are with a little tiny side covered and then on the side where your sink is where my sink was on 1 side in my refrigerator was on the other.. My bunk on the bottom didn't lift up so that was one thing I wish it did do... But I have a friend Who has the sleeper with the actual shower and potty in it

    Do you have to call Waste Management when Jason shaves his noggin outside, LoL....
    I live in a 35 foot converted construction trailer, and I have almost all my dishes and pantry items on shelves which would be kind of equal to your bunk, and I like it coz I can see at a glance what I have and is easy to get to and put away. I can also take the unloaded shelf down for cleaning. A little of that rubber mat stuff keeps expensive dishes from sliding off when pulling out the one beside it, etc. I also have labeled plastic boxes that act as drawers for utensils, and sugars, cat food, etc. that fit nicely on the shelves.
    This is the first time I'm hearing that Heather and Jason sleep together, "naughty" lol......
    A really nice tour guys.... I'm going to do that cutting board idea over one section of my sink....

    • @TheCraftyTrucker
      @TheCraftyTrucker  7 лет назад

      Pete_ Hine_Of_PA I think your set up sounds awesome! I bet Shyann knows exactly which plastic bin holds her food. LOL thank you Pete your comments always give me a giggle! You have to let me know how your cutting board sink cover turns out. :)

    • @SteelyPaw
      @SteelyPaw 7 лет назад +1

      Thanks Heather, and I love that you guys usually take the time to answer reply''s, not just mine but most of them and I realize how time consuming that is, it's just another thing of many that makes you guys really awesome Vlogers !
      And, yes Shyann is a real smarty pants, she knows more than I want her too, LoL.
      I forgot to mention, even though I live in a 35 foot construction trailer, I have a 6 car all block garage on 3/4 acres of land, so I can house my cars, lawn equipment. There is also a full bath and wood stove and detailed office in there, so I'm not a total trailer or tiny house liver so to speak as some people are. However, while I'm single except for Shyann, lol, this set up works great for me and is very cozy. I can imagine on a stormy night, laying in your bunk in that beautiful sleeper watching TV how cozy that must also be.
      I'll keep ya's posted on how I make out with the cutting board, weather I fabricate my own or buy something that works like you guys did. You guys put the "C" in Crafty Truckers...

Im thinking of changing from tractor trailer to a straight truck or maybe a van doing expedited. I drove for 40 p l us years and its time for a change and im wanting room. But im not going to run teams unless i know the person well. Ive had a bad out come with a team driver and a hour after the change out we ended up on our side. They fallen asleep. Sucks

    Thanks for the tour - great rig. I'd be interested in general information on the type of commodities you carry and the distances you travel. Good to see a couple working together. Thanks again.

      I've driven a straight truck for 4yrs with different companies I'm ready to dive in and drive for myself

    I own a frieghtliner Colombia 2007 tractor, but I'm really considering making my next truck a expedite truck. I KNOW that thing is a heck of a lot easier to drive. And u don't have to worry about not finding a parking spot, since u can park the thing anywhere.

      Miguel Robb almost anywhere. It is a lot easier though making the job much more enjoyable.

      Mr Crafty Trucker are these trucks widely available? And is there a lot of work in it? I'm interested in getting a 2007 expedited truck if I jump on board

      Miguel Robb they are widely available. If you get on the right company you’ll stay fairly busy.

    The one thing you can get with the 120's is a little toilet. But your setup looks awesome! Makes me miss driving.

      Mark Wandrey Thank you Mark. We’ve already decided our next truck will have a 120” sleeper :)

      Crafty. Thanks again. Do you know what your average revenue per loaded mile is, and total? I think the m2 is a great pick for the job. I have been spec-ing one myself. Fed Ex gave me numbers that look pretty good. It looks like there is a bit of down time between loads. Are you guys experiencing that?
