Great vlog, can’t wait to see bivvy bistro now, he’ll be rustling up a full roast with that bad boy… but sadly for that amount I’m out…..
READ ME.
VIEW MY ITEM IMAGES ON ..... A-MA-Z-ON !!!
My VERY Detailed review of this VERY expensive Cooking Oven.
--------------
Build Quality = 3 / 10
For £179 I was VERY disappointed to find the items held together with rivets and NOT been MIG welded, this is ** VERY ** poor..... It cuts the costs of skilled labour.
The oven is also missing a flame guard?
This flame guard was included in the very 1st versions of this oven 2 years ago, now removed for cost? & replaced with a solid shelf, this shelf could very quickly over heat the bottom of the food on this shelf, it also restricts the heat from getting to the upper wired shelf.
Because of this I have made my own flame guard ( see images enclosed in this review )
I basically placed a nut & bolt through the fittings that are made to take the flame guard. These fittings are still in place, I assume they have NOT altered their tooling in China to remove this operation.
I made mine from 316 stainless steel ( see images ) ….. For £179 I would NOT expect to be making parts for this oven.
The ND stamped letters in the top of the oven are wasted opportunity to safe guard someone burning themselves ( VERY badly ) this should have been embossed with the words HOT. Over all the items OK, but fare from outstanding hence the make 4 / 10
This TOP area is way to small for a pan etc, the raised area ( see images ) is dangerous a pans base is much bigger than this area.
I have again made a part for this area, a pan RING from 316 stainless steel 155mm Dia 15mm tall to allow the pans to sit on the ring and NOT this small dangerous raised area.
--------------
Build finish = 6 / 10
For £179 I was disappointed to find the item still has burrs and sharp edges POOR !! >>>
--------------
Using the oven = 6 / 10
Once built the unit works well getting up to 500 degrees ( Gas make 10 ) 400 degrees = Gas mark 6 ) Setting the flame to burn BLUE & not YELLOW is simple enough but no markings on the adjuster to set the regulator holes at a later date in the correct place ( had to use a sharpie pen )
--------------
Access to spare parts = 0 / 10
NO spare parts openly available VERY POOR indeed !!!
--------------
Cost = 3 / 10
Truly over priced for the items build. Finish, etc
--------------
OVER ALL SCORE = 3.6 of 10 ….. Poor @ £179
--------------
Conclusion =
Very poor build & finish POOR…
Value ( I think this is only worth around £80 to £100 ) would I buy it again ** NEVER **
However until now, I have NOT found ANYONE else manufacturing an oven running on 500cc low pressure gas cans.
Tidy bit of kit, av to take the missus to do the cooking. 😉
perfect!!! lol
Like the idea but price seems a bit steep and can see it braking after a few goes, I’m a big ND fan though the S9’s are brilliant bits of kit 👌
It's a fair point, it is the only real negative about it, not sure what's behind the creation of it that warrants that kinda price,🤷🏻♂️ but it is what it is unfortunately
Without an adapter for a propane gas bottle, it doesn't make sense. If it came with something like that, I'd buy it straight away. You can save yourself the trouble of heating the mini cartridges... otherwise, it's a really cool thing.
Great review, looks like a lovely bit off kit.
Look like chariles lake in ashford
Might be!! lol
Lovely cats!
I will buy this as treat, I will use the link you have put on. Its great
Thanks! I think you'll really enjoy the product.
What happened with the run? 🤷
Oh well that'll feature in a future vlog!! lol.
I’ll stick with the cobb You can do more with that that’s a bit of a gimmick sorry good review
It b good as a heater over the winter 👍
Works a treat for this!!
Pizza on the bank. What more do you want, awesome.
Exactly!!
Good video mate, out of interest what is the green jacket you're wearing at the beginning of the video
It's a snugpack, I believe that's what it is called from memory.
Brilliant thanks mate
Charlies ?
1000% getting one!!! Love this!!
Treat yourself!!
How long does a gas bottle last in these things?
Not 100% sure yet, I took one bottle that was a quarter full and used it to cook twice and used it on two evenings to keep the bivvy warm and it still had some left at the end.
@@WetLines hey bud any kind of update how's this thing been working out for you?
how much butane did it use cooking the pizza?
Honestly hard to say, I only took one bottle which was probably 3/4 empty. And I managed to cook two pizzas on different days and have it running to keep my bivvy warm. And there's still a lil bit left in the bottle.
Ah nice after seeing 2 bottles in the video I got worried it used loads just to cook a pizza hahaha! And I noticed ya receiver do you have the n1 or s9 alarms?
@@leepullon1147 oooh thats because it turned out i took an empty bottle with me!! lol and i have the S9s
@@WetLines ah nice ive got the n1 alarms and love how compact they are
Good review thank you!! Guessing you never found the washer for the thermometer 🤣😅😂. Love it, but gonna hang on for 6 maths or so to gauge reviews, I can see it being a grease magnet and nightmare to clean....
😂😂 yeah that went to who knows there!!!! lol stupid fish interrupting me!!!
£179 no thanks
It is the main let down about it.
