WOW. Waves gave this update for free for all V14 users whether they have WUP or not. Thank you Waves! I had the chance to use it in a mix last night. It's fantastic. I love the crush setting, adjustable resonance, and especially the new compression mode. A great product just got even better.
The original is probably my favorite waves plugin. I am excited about the ability to host 3rd party plugins, it's something I've wanted for a while. I wish you could have multiple inserts, maybe up to two or even four.
I'm not interested in buying more third-party plugins but this video features so many incredible mixing tips that I'll be sure to recreate! It sounds amazing.
In most of my tracks your Omni Channel is both my first and last insert. That de-esser finds it way between like 180 Hz and like 500 Hz, perhaps more than the in obvious sibilant frequencies, and that's a complement! If I had to recommend the most useful plugin ever it'd be your Omni Channel.
Ridiculous how good this plug-in is. For the first time, no matter what we thought in the past, this really is the “One stop shopping” we have always wanted. Prior to this I feel it was the Plug-in Alliance Amek 9099 channel strip. And for many people it still will be. But for me personally this is just laid out more the way I think, being that I come from the all-analog era. Unbelievable. But I’ll take it! 🤘😎🤘
I’ve opened it up in PluginDoctor. The resonance of the low cut behaves differently than you’d might expect after Andrews explanation. It’s just a normal filter with resonance. If you dial in 35Hz, the peek of the resonance will be around 60Hz, depending on how much resonance you’ve dialed in. So the resonance not only changes the amplitude but also the frequency of the resonance. The steeper, the lower. This is normal for a filter, but not convenient to use.
Dude is awesome. Omni Channel is one of my favorite plugins and is such a powerful tool. Andrew just made it even more incredible with this update. Just downloaded the update and can't wait to give it a go. Thanks Andrew!
