    The original is probably my favorite waves plugin. I am excited about the ability to host 3rd party plugins, it's something I've wanted for a while. I wish you could have multiple inserts, maybe up to two or even four.

    • @dftweedie3021
      @dftweedie3021 Год назад +6

      Here you go, buddy. Try these two: Waves StudioRack or BlueCat PatchWork. And go as crazy as you want inserting additional StudioRacks or PatchBays into the inserted Studio Rack or PatchWorks. And the PatchWorks will extend your ability to insert any additional 3rd party VST3.
      FWIW, Scheps2 hosted in StudioRack seems to no longer let you select 3rd Party VST3s, but you can still add most Waves plugins ... but not StudioRack. So your most flexible path if you start with Scheps2 is to get a hold of PatchWorks and then do anything you want. Still, to be able to have a rack full of extra waves plugins by starting with StudioRack, hosting Scheps2 in the first slot and then a collection of effects that you can bypass and call up at will is pretty awesome.

    WOW. Waves gave this update for free for all V14 users whether they have WUP or not. Thank you Waves! I had the chance to use it in a mix last night. It's fantastic. I love the crush setting, adjustable resonance, and especially the new compression mode. A great product just got even better.

    In most of my tracks your Omni Channel is both my first and last insert. That de-esser finds it way between like 180 Hz and like 500 Hz, perhaps more than the in obvious sibilant frequencies, and that's a complement! If I had to recommend the most useful plugin ever it'd be your Omni Channel.

      @@CyanideLovesong well I do have metaplugin, which will allow me to oversample, but a channel strip plugin is likely to be used a lot in a session so it’s not exactly a great way of doing it. I use logic and protools, still running Mojave so even if daw is updated to include O/S it’s no go. Also the max sample rate for the plugin, limits the O/S somebody said 96Khz which is deffo not enough for heavy distortion. No chance of me moving to reaper.

      I have and use a lot of Waves plugins, but if you're actually unsure, it's because of their upgrade program trickling in features for money, and then they suddenly removed the ability to buy plugins at all and briefly replaced it with a subscription only model, until the backlash got so big that they reversed the decision. So people don't trust them.

    • @jorgemartinez42069

      Their plugins are mostly pretty standard offerings these days. Some are good, some have barely been updated since 2004. Why didn't you add some contrasting shades for the GUI, if you went to the trouble to make an updated Omni? The mainly black look is not that easy on the eyes, especially the EQ section. I did quite like the first Omni though, sound-wise, but V12 took forever to load with lots of instances in a Pro Tools session. So I don't use it anymore.

If you want to be efficient and make quick moves, the interface has to be something that you can navigate well and that there is some distinctiveness between the different sections. I personally thing a light grey background with the black knobs would work better.

    What saddens me the most about a lot of the tutorials on any kind of VST plugin on RUclips is that most of the videos are about focusing on aggressive distortion or weird sculpting directions. When in reality those kind of approaches are more for Rock music and not the rest of the other tons of music genres from around the world. In the U.S. alone, there is Jazz, Pop, Ballads, Country, Rap, Trap, Classical, Acoustic, and many other types of music. Yet, on RUclips tutorials focus on music that died in the 90s called Rock. Yes, I know who Andrew is. He is a legend and has worked and works with all the greats. But, come on try using Pop music for a change on one of these DAW tutorials. Not cheesy drums from the 80s for a better perspective.

    Pros usually got a lotta good recording materials which is alrdy sounds gr8 without any complex signal processing. In real life... I usually face with bad recorded stuff...and I can't fix that just with this all-in-one plugin... I wish I can make it simple. ;_;
