Thanks for posting this! Andrew is extremely humble and very talented! The perfect combination!!
Waves Audio you Rock!!
I've been using this plugin for awhile and love it! I can't believe all the features I was missing out on!!!!
Hi Warren, did you just got rid of all the 3-4 monitors that you had? Even the LP6s?
@@chayanchakraborty63 marvellous! I'm rotating them!
I thought the Scheps channel plug in was great before but I didn't realise how much more was hidden behind expanding panels and shortcut keys.
This video has completely opened my eyes to new ways of working with this tool.
Thank you!
Being around Huart seems like a bit of an all-around soul-crusher for Scheps. The unspoken pain on his face when Huart says, “...on the You of Tube...” 😂😂😂
🤣 lol
No .... that would .... take time.
Thanks Andrew and Waves for a great time-saver! Not just great sounding, but fun to explore.
Hi Mike Page Thanks ever so much my friend!!
It's not very often I get to see my two favourite producers using my new favourite plugin. Thanks for taking the time to shoot this video guys!
Hi The Capsicum Kid thanks ever so much my friend!
Casually transforms the drums in under ten minutes and makes the track a million times better 👍🏻🤘🏻
I've found myself gravitating toward the Omni Channel more and more for everything. Awesome tool. One of my favorites.
Truly the Swiss Army Knife for mixing.
the pedal noise in that kick was killing me!!
Adds character.
"Oooh Bus 42 is .... in use" god of mix is still a funny human
Awesome video... this is one of those videos that you will watch a few times over again and save to your playlist for reference. Nice one Warren!
Hi Renato Cachina Thanks ever so much my friend!
Warren and Andrew together on Waves! I’m diggin it Andrew makes is look way too simple thanks Andrew! Thanks Warren! Love this plug-in, thanks Waves!
JJ Studios JJ Thanks ever so much my friend!!
The omni channel is by far the best channel plugin i've used. the preamp is something you will use 99% of the time, the eq section is so fine-tuned that sometimes you will not even need to change frequencies, just boost or cut at the predetermined ones, it never sounds harsh, it is so lush, and a selection of an 1176, la2a and an ssl bus comp, plus a limiter, sidechanid filters for everything, a couple of deessers. I mean you can seriously cut down on costs, just by byuing this plugin. It is so well made!
I could listen to this man talk the tech talk all day long. Humble and professional. Boss.
one of my go-to plugins.. :) thanx for showing a little bit of the workflow of it´s creator.. really enjoyed this one..
When the video starts with "Hello everybody, hope you are doing marvelously well", you know its Warren and you know its going to be good and informative !!
This has been by far one of my most used plugins since I bought it and I don't remember how long ago that was, but it's a plugin that I think is one of the first ones that anyone setting up a new studio (home or otherwise) should buy. I have recorded as a guitarist in pro studios over the decades and always watched the engineers and asked questions, but I don't have pro level audio engineering knowledge and experience that these guys have. However, having this plugin definitely helps me get far better results in my small home studio! Every once in a while you find a piece of gear or software that knocks your results ahead quickly and noticeably. This is one of those plugins.
Thank you very much for this! I think I'm going to have to bookmark this one so I can come back to it for reference purposes. Excellent!
That was just nuts! What a great channel strip!
Cool song !!
Great plugin!
Thank you Andrew!
This is the best plug Waves has made in a while. Love it!
Anybody here from the sale? This is awesome! I love these tutorials. Almost wish every company did this.
Thank you so much for uploading and doing this.
It was great first time round, but definitely worth another look :)
I just learned about the expanded controls too. I love this plugin.
so awesome, thanx! was just using this plug tonight! can't resist that saturation on the drums ✌🤓
That Kick Drum is insane! Great work, Warren! And Andrew, as well!
@@Ascoundrel What? Sorry??
So Valuable Man you guys just keep giving Thank You so much you guys together are a power house!
One of the best video ever
I’m going to try side-chained multi band on the bass next time I mix, rather than compressing all the frequencies. Thanks Andrew!
I make a living as a recording engineer and producer, and I’m wildly impressed by how much I get from your channel. Just wanted to add to the noise of ppraise for your channel.
Andrew is simply the coolest. Thanks fellas!
Just recently learnt that Andrew mixed 'Look Away', my favorite song from Rival Sons' latest album. Absolutely amazing work! The whole album is phenomenal and pure rock bliss.
Well done guys 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I am sold... full video @producelikeapro is great too 🤙🏽
the window covered up makes the room feel much much nicer!!
Andrew would probably cry if he heard one of my mixes. ;D
probably true for the rest if us here haha
This video has helped me a lot. Thanks
The Scheps Omni Channel is probably one of the most intuitive pieces of software ever made. I'm talking all software, not just audio stuff. They should make computer science majors study it so they know what good GUI design looks like.
Hi Warren, Andrew, great video, I love Mr Scheps,s plugins, they are awesome, all the best.
HI Darren Ross Thanks ever so much! Yes, agreed 100% Andrew Rocks!
@@Producelikeapro Hey Warren, should the time come and I am more than sure it will, what plugins would you bring to the table? i bet they will be awesome. all the best, Darren.
Great video Warren!
Got a strange deja vu feeling watching this.. Oh, yes i've seen this before over at Warren's channel. Anyway, Great video!
trollstjerne haha thanks my friend! Thanks to Waves for posting this!!
superb stuff
Totally dig the song!
Two OGs 🤜🏽💯🤛🏾
Some nice clips for sampling in this video!!!..
He is one of the greatest. And humble.
wow. Great content. Great work.
Andrew you are a legend.
Best plugin (most useful) I ever bought.
Great work, was the artist mentioned? Maybe I didn't catch it, I'd love to listen to this song with vocals and all.
Amazing video.
An educational, sonic delight - thank you indeed Messrs Huart and Scheps for sharing your expertise and wisdom. The Omnichannel is my favourite plugin bar none - it would be my pick for in-the-box mixing if I was only allowed one.
Lysdexia Thanks ever so much my friend!!
Bro...I been eyeing this plugin, that expand feature just sold one!
Kurtis High yes! Great feature!!
how is it so far?
This was such a good idea to do. This was as entertaining as it was informative. Bravo! I need to get myself a lot of alias youtube accounts so I can bump up the likes on videos such as this.
Awesome song!
Man that squeaky kick pedal is annoying...
Filip Suciu Led Zeppelin had that same problem. But the song was so good it didn’t matter
Sort of strange that Andrew didn't work that out - sounds like Forrest Gump with those leg braces playing the kit.
@@dankenton Bahaha,... I was thinking the same thing. It stands out so much. . to assume Zep had same issue as an excuse to keep it in is insane to me. I would have taken it out by all means if its the same approach to EQ. Scoop out all the junk man.
I love it!
AlienAir yeah no way let it breath.
Great video. No idea what they are doing but it's sure enjoyable to watch. Original sounded pretty good for me but that's what you pay audio engineer for - to turn good song into great one. One really need to have a good pair of speakers and ears to be able to appreciate and catch all the nuances and differences. Software is really overwhelming.
I’ve learned so much from Warren!
one of the worlds best ..man just to be in your room is a big deal
So useful 👍 thanks
OMG that drum room technique!
Love to see him approach the vocals now.. Awesome tho
I love this plugin, thank you sheps great plugin, produce like a pro will help so many of us, produce like a pro, he keeps bring the best of the best, to keep us all in great shape ,thank you great show
I wish on videos like this, we could get the sessions and actually use them for practice to apply some of this stuff
Warren! You the man.
Marvelous
Evan Ward Thanks!! Andrew Rocks!!
I recently purchased the Omni Channel. It is without a doubt, one of the best plugins I have ever used.
Tim Roberts yes! Great plug in!
yup i didnt know that u could solo an eq channel by control-clicking the knob....great feature!!
I tried making it bigger for a modern monitor, it seems low resolution geared for murky PC monitors. For me with triple 4K monitors it looks small and grainy. I like my luxurious look, and scalable interface 50% all the way to 200%. Any plans on doing that?
Poke around on those plugins and all kinds of thing come up! That is something I do all the time.
Andrew saved the drums in no time
Nice challenge. I think we all won on that one!
Thanks guys
2 awesome dudes :)
Thanks ever so much!
MORE LIKE THIS!!!!!
i like how in the thumbnail, Warten looks like I would look if Andrew Scheps showed me something 😅
Great video - I wish Scheps would say exactly why he did everything that he did because mixing is so subjective... I hated the snare sound until he made adjustments to tone it downed warm it up ...
this feels like dejavu
it indeed is a great plugin.
Awesome.
9:27 Am I hearing a squeaky kick drum pedal? I love stuff like that!! This video rules! We need more of these, Warren!
Haha thanks Ian!!
Andrew Scheps is the best!
Only watched first 90 seconds and the body language is fascinating!
😂 “That would take time” Andrew is my ITB gurú
Scheps Omni plugin the best go to plug-in
Jur I’ve added it to my favourite go to plug ins!
Ohhhh snap!!!
Cool!
Great vid.... But I could hear the squeek of the kick pedal once it had been saturated.... Could you hear it??
Man, would have loved to see/hear some vocal work using this...Still cool tho.
Check out Sean Divine's channel. Pretty sure he's got a pretty detailed video or two using the Omni Channel.
Happy mixing!
"How to finesse a mix review from The Rabbi"... that's the title of this vid
Obviously there are tons of different things you can do to change the sound and feel of a song. Goes to show simple is better, get the point across with simple quality. Also goes to show nothing is more important then a good song to begin with. All the great older songs had far less options and still hold up today. I mean what did they have back then? A limited eq, compressors etc.
why do the VU meters using the scheps omni channel clip everytime the kick is hit? I thought that's what we wanted to avoid. We are looking for that right volume as we feed from one plugin to another. I looked for this answer before I asked this question but all I get in my search is how a VU meter works and that's rudimentary. So many times I see people on youtube using plugins and the VU meters always slam hard in the red. I can't believe that people want that type of distortion all the time in there mixes?
its Warren vs Rick Beato for the coolest music channel on RUclips :)
Rick's Channel Rocks!!
@@Producelikeapro
So does yours bro.
Where can I get a sample of that squeaky kick pedal?
On the KIK VU meters are hitting red. How to understand working with VU in digital audio ?
There wasn't a real A/B comparison sadly. I have a hard time discerning a real difference between the before and after. I hear some subtle compression mainly and saturation. What am I missing?
Nice video. It might have been helpful to A B the two versions. In other words, let us here the original compared to the tweaked version.
Definitely time for a new kick pedal. Can hear the squeaky noises every hit
i kindof liket it. There's enough hi-fi in the overall mix imho, at least :)
Did you think of SIDE CHAIN COMPRESSION??
So Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Vst
8:00 onward by 30 sec, that pedal squonk is ridiculous. Why tolerate that? EQ scooping unwanted frequencies is important and taking out 'speed king devils' isnt??
a demo without explanations - for advanced users who probably don't need this plugin anyway.
