This is my favourite one in the Be album.
V wrote this song when he was suffering from burnout and possibly depression. He said this a couple of times, I also think that’s why the members wrote such moving messages to him on the rolling paper during the fiesta. So its actually V's own story. Makes this song even more emotional.
Blue and Grey is A song expressing sad, anxiety , disorder and depression which are usually shown through ' Blue and Grey' color and that motivated him to write this song.

V actually wrote this song for his mixtape but the members wanted it to be in the album as the lyrics were too good. He was very depressed when he wrote this song and put his heart out in the lyrics
Jimin said he had lost a line in the song because it was too low for him and JK replaced him. V usually adapts his voice to the 3 tenors in the band but this time they adapted to his barytone vocals and I love the results because they never sound like that usually and it's a beautiful tone for them. Also, according to music teachers online, V is supposed to have the most range. Each member of the vocal line has 3 octaves, but V actually has 5 extra notes. Beautiful reaction thanks.
strongly agree! I also think they said something about their main producer pdogg liking songs in a higher range, which is why most of their songs songs are like that, but i actually their lower register as well.
I have learned from music producer reactions reason more songs in higher octaves are because in general more people respond positively to higher tones. V vocals are maturing fantastically he has large range lower is rich soulful and higher still beautiful. Jimin my bias but V is standout for me in this album.
Also I think Jimin feels same way in this album , that V is standout. In one promotion Jimin said please support our album BE and V. In another video he made V symbol and someone told him B not V. Am sure he knows the difference . He is strongly supporting V on this album. Soulmates ( again in recent Esquire interview states they are best friends - for those who believe it’s fanservice)

This was written and produced by V. Originally completely in English. Was part of his mixed tape (which I cant wait for any longer). The original lyrics was much darker and full of pain. (We heard a small portion of this in their show "In the Soop"). But then BH and BTS wanted this in the album. This was then translated back to Korean and changed a little to suit the group. My Fav song in the album and probably fav song in general.
V's voice always gives me the chills and this just broke me in half and put me back together. There is a valid reason for Tae being my ultimate bias 💜.

This is my fav song of BE. Taehyung wrote, composed and produced this song for his mixtape with two friends of his. The members listened to it and asked him to be in the album. Then the rapline added their verses. That's why you feel it was his song.
Also Taehyung was the only bts member that produced a song in this album. You can look up the credits in Spotify.
I love the fact that he works a lot with indie producers and writers outside of BH. Some of them are his friends.
jhope produced dis-ease, and yoongi produced telepathy. Tae wasn't the only one that produced a song on this album
Kyle is right Tae is not the only one of BTS who produced on this album. In fact if you have the album it states all members as producers on different song such as Jin, Jungkook and RM produced Stay along with another producer and then for Dis-ease you have Jhope, RM, Suga, Jimin and 5 other producers.

Yeah it's impressive how Kim Taehyung is the only BTS member who's registered as a producer in BE, the other members also did an amazing job with writing and composing too...people are misunderstanding the credits...those are the only registered main producers for BE:

@@tasha5768 no, Arston is the only one who produced Stay. if you look at the album credits, the BOLD NAMES are the producers of the song, and the names in the brackets underneath are composers/writers. Hobi is the only member who produced Dis-ease (the others participated in writing it). writing and producing are TWO DIFFERENT things. Therefore, Tae, Hobi and Yoongi are the only members who have producing credits on the album, it was their original songs.

the credits are showing that in the album, I know it's confusing but that's how they're credited, producer or composers doesn't matter they all worked on the music 💜

This is a song he wrote for his mixtape talking about the burouts he went through, it was all in English but got altered to be an ot7 song and to fit the verses the rapline wrote.
Edit: it seems you already saw this at the end, we are really proud of him using writing songs as a way of coping and at the same time giving us an extremely relatable song that hold our hands while we are sad instead of pushing us to be better or act like everything is ok while it's not.

This is my favorite song of the album; fun fact, this song was supposed to be in Tae mixtape but when they were filming In The Soop the guys heard it and they wanted it to be in the album, it was originally in english but they rewrote it in korean; fun fact number 2, Stay was supposed to be in JK mixtape but Tae heard it and encourage JK to turn it in for the album

Taehyung has a very wide range vocal, in fly to my room he even sings 3 keys higher. Blue and Grey fits his baritone voice so well. So proud of him 👏👏💜

This song hit me .. hard. I'm finally in a place where I can listen to Spring Day without losing my shit every time then heeerrreee they come with Blue & Grey and my face just leaks constantly. I love all their music and have been an ARMY since predebut but this is one of those pieces that showcases them in such a genuine and authentic human way. It's simply brilliant and I love the way you express what you're hearing and feeling throughout the reaction. You're every ARMY listening to it. I heart.
I agree with you, This song emotes all of V's deepest emotions so eloquently. Sometimes when I see him, he tends to be lost in thought, so silent and not present. I wonder what he is feeling and wonder if he is truly happy.

This song makes me so emotional every time I hear it, I remember Tae played it briefly on bts in the Soop and it made cry even then so I was happy that it was on BE! This is my favorite b side by far on this album. Its so haunting and beautiful and sad but calming. Its a complex of emotions and yet seems so simple musically.

I shed tear too this song hits me so hard, their vocals was 👌
In the 2nd verse of the first chorus its was Jin doing the high part (not Jimin) at lyrics "Oh this ground feels so heavier...." with JK doing the lower notes and the next verse it was Jimin doing high notes with Tae on low.
Second chorus, they switched partners, with Tae doing the high notes on the same parts Jin sang and Jimin doing the low with his pretty vocal fries. Their range is truly amazing, they can switch from low range to high range and harmonize with another vocal member without it sounding off then when they were doing with another. This comeback, and this album, you can really see and hear how much their vocal techniques and control has improved, don't get me wrong they were good before, but man this album, their vocals in all tracks are crisp and raw and full of emotions.
This is also my favorite track on the album, along with Telepathy from the b-sides. I am so so proud of Taehyung, I have always admired his music writing skills from his solo works esp. Scenery, he paints pictures using his words so well. I can't wait for KTH1. I just feel that I would love what he will put out, his music taste is the same as mine.

Taehyungs vocal range is actually insane, like honestly im not ever gonna stop talking about it. I remember when I first got into BTS, I was listening to a compilation of BTS high notes and Taehyungs high note in his song Stigma came on and I was so shocked that it was him because of how low his speaking voice is. He's seriously so talented and people need to stop sleeping on his many talent.

This song was originally meant to be for V's mixtape and be in English but they decided it fit well with this album so they changed it to some Korean added the rap parts...it is so beautiful even though it is sad and heartbreaking....during their show In The Soop V played part of the English version while out on the river in a canoe and the original lyrics in English are even more heartbreaking! I hope when he does eventually make the mixtape he includes the English version.
I've watched your channel through after seeing your Band Maid "fan head explosion"... and I'm like "Why in the hell hasn't he yet seen any Nightwish?!?!?!?!?" Nightwish, Wacken 2013 official live video... Most common that new people start with is "Ghost love score" and then move to "Story time" or "Everdream" and maybe then they go to "Romanticide" or "Devil and deep dark ocean" etc... all from the same concert.
You really might want to check them out if you haven't. Not so pop as most of what you've done, but as a metal musician you'd ought to like them :)
(Though, Ghost Love Score is quite overly done these days... stilla good soft landing on Nightwish )

He did write this song for his mixtape and did contribute it to the album instead of releasing it on his own mixtape, and this was mentioned in the press conference and the original version of the song was shown in In The Soop. Perhaps I understood your comment about 'he was not included in the creators' wrongly, because he is indeed recognised as a writer, composer and producer of the song, and thereby 'included in the creators (sic)'. Unless you mean 'creator' in a different sense?

V: I wrote “Blue & Grey” when I was at my lowest point, when I was actually asking whether I could keep going with my work or not. Even the fun parts of work became a chore, and my whole life felt aimless. “Where do I go from here? I can’t even see the end of the tunnel.” Those kinds of thoughts hit me hard.

Park Jisoo, mentioned in the credits is also known as Nive. He and Taehyung created the base of this song in some kind of jam they had on Nive's studio some months ago (they both published pics on social media so we knew something was brewing) and they both kept working on it because it was intended to be a collab on Tae's first mixtape. The sound at the end of the song is Nive's voice distortioned to be used as an instrument. Yes the song is produced by V with help from NIVE & his friend LEVI. From the NIve youtube channel i think V & LEVI work more in the melody of the song and NIve ( Ji soo Park) work for the music
