Favourite song on the album! The bridge, the rap just everything gave me life! Also yes finally someone who appreciates how Hobi killed the rap at the beginning. Also Jimin wrote the bridge in like 3-4 minutes.

I see a lot praising hobi in his rap, this is his sound just like in Hope World
he wrote the melody of the bridge. hoseok, RM and pdogg helped write the bridge :)
Where did you get the idea for the theme of “Dis-ease”?
j-hope: First, I wanted to get into the mindset that this song is a sickness. When I make a song, I work on the chorus first, and then move onto the first verse. When I had only finished the chorus the song felt upbeat, but I thought the overall theme shouldn’t be too playful. That wouldn’t reflect how I felt. But while the theme of “Dis-ease” itself isn’t very light, when it fuses with the beat, it feels as if the song is trying to get over itself and stay positive. So I threw some scratching into the chorus and put in some “bbyap bbyap bbayp” and then started to think, “Aha! I’d better call this song ‘Dis-ease.’ ”
I didn’t expect you to write a song portraying your love-hate relationship with your work as a disease. A lot of people would expect you to have a positive, hopeful attitude, given your name.
j-hope: I was too busy to ever give much thought about the work itself. But, as you know, that suddenly changed, and there was a lot we could no longer do. When I was working, I’d say, “Ugh, I need a break,” but then we took time off and the words, “Ugh, I want to work,” jumped out of my mouth! That’s what made me think more closely: “Why is this bothering me? I have a chance to rest-just take it. Why do I feel like I need to work under these circumstances? Is this an occupational disease?” I felt like this was a part of me that I could express at this point in time.

This song has jhope´s color all over and i LIVE for that. Is one of my favs from the album and jimin said he wrote that bridge which is honestly a game changer. Also the pairing for vocals and addlibs in this album is amazing, they leveld up everything and that makes me so proud since they were so involved. I mean it´s alway been good but i like the placement of the vocals for this album a lot, they played and discovered new sounds
2:41 This is Hobi's, he went crazy on this song! He is killing it. He gets better and better and better each comeback they made, I get mind blown how talented he is. He sings, he raps, he's an amazing dancer, a composer, writer, producer, and so much more. The best thing is that he shines in every aspect! He's a genius in his craft!

This is my fav song in this album. The lyrics are heavy but the beats are funny. Sounds like 3 different songs are in this one song. I heard Jimin made the bridge part in 3min. Thank you for reacting.

j-hope is the main writer and composer of this track, he wrote majority, the rappers wrote their respective verses, the bridge was a collaboration work, great addition from jimin but also other members, especially RM.
The song is produced by Brasstracks who specialized in Soul, R&B and hip Hop music.
Fun Fact: Hobi accidentally leaked a part of this song in one of his lives months ago (it's on Bangtan TV), he was working on the melody of pre-chorus and chorus, he had his headphones on but the music was too loud and we could hear his demo guide :-) It was a funny accident.

Dis-ease is my favorite track on the album. Top three Dis-ease, Telepathy, and stay.
Definitely my favorite track on the album - which is unsurprising, since I love the Hobi songs like "Dionysus" and "Mic Drop". Hobi, of course, kills it, but I was so happy to hear Yoongi do a more challenging rap, in the vein of "Agust D" or "Cypher 2". Yeah, that bridge was fire, absolutely. This is the song I'm dying to see them perform live, to see what they'll do with it.
That‘s Jin's vocal at the back of the bridge. He is known for that, eg. back in Dionysus

Interesting facts....they approached Musician/song writer Brasstacks for some sample beats, they sent him Kriss Kross’ “Jump” as a guide to what sound and vibe they wanted, he sent them 10 beats and instrumentals and they chose this one! Hobi has professed his love for Kriss Kross in the past and it’s cool knowing that their influence is still going strong.
The bridge of the century. The melody was written by jimin in 4-5 minute. Hobi did very great with the other part of the song. The background high not was jimin

He does a lot of the belted high notes (G5 in Crystal snow, Dionysus & we are bulletproof the eternal + the G5, F5 & Bb5 in the back of dis-ease)
You can look up the isolated vocals to hear it yourself and even see him do a sustained G5 live in Crystal snow :)

LOVED IT!
This is not only my fave track on the album but it’s jumped into my BTS top 10. There’s soooo much going here and in other hands it could have just flown off the rails but they’re masters of their material . Everything is so tight, there’s nothing here that’s not needed so the vocals absolutely shine and the production is stellar. It’s my dream to see them perform this live. Begone, COVID!
Hoseok made mastepiece, it was so highly praised by critics for that hip-hop feel and got to top lists best songs of 2020 too) Hoseok really made a masterpiece!

If you go back to old BTS songs, for example ‘look here’ or ‘24/7=heaven’, where Hobi was given enough bars, he consistently switched up the flow and rapped in such a fun and entertaining way. If you ever get chance, please listen to those songs. Especially look here (여기봐). It’s one of my favourite Hobi verses. The Stars (a Japanese release) is another good one. 😊

The game changer bridge that Jimin said took him 3-4 min to make, after PDogg, one of the main BigHit in-house producers, who was interviewed said after he heard, it not only immediately wanted to add it as the bridge, but also requested Jimin to add the lyrics for it!! Jimin's high notes especially towards the end of course are another highlight, his background high notes give one chills, and is so breathtakingly awesome to hear in this song!! Jimin has been getting more involved in different aspects of creating a song, aside from writing lyrics & composing! He's such a perfectionist though, I wonder just how long it will take before he releases another of his own songs!! Of course Hobi was the main one who wrote and chose the beat for this song! This song has his influence all over it!! But all of BTS, like never before were involved in every aspect of creating this whole album!! They all did such an outstandingly awesome job!!
can you give me the exact excerpt from Jimin where he said he wrote the lyrics? Because I remember he said that there was a part of the song without the melody, suggesting that the lyrics were already written.
Also RM said the bridge part was a collaboration.

"Some of the other songs on BE have something like that too, but “Dis-ease” somehow feels particularly like old school Korean hip hop.
Jimin: I thought so too. I thought of 20 years ago when I sang it. The majority of the song was written by j-hope, so that might just be my thinking (laughs) but I sang it when there was a question mark on who would sing the vocals. I was really doing whatever I wanted, so I sort of had to be restrained (laughs) but it was fun."

Too many army just so easily throw out info without doing actual research to back it up! I also heard Jimin talk about creating the bridge on vlive, but indeed I might have assumed or misheard incorrectly about writing the lyrics as well!! If I recall awhile back, you were the one who corrected m on believing for yrs that Suga was the one who wrote & produced Tomorrow!! I'll always be forever indebted and grateful to you for correcting me back then as well! Indeed, when I made a point of researching back then I found out that it was indeed Slow-Rabbit who co-produce & co-write with Suga!! Please, I hope you always continue to correct army whenever you see the so many incorrect statements being made!!! 👍🙏😊
This is my favorite song on the album and I mean by like .01% because all of the songs are so good! I love the old school sound of the song, I love the build up. Hobi is just so good at bringing sounds that resonate with me. Everyone’s rap was great, the vocals were outstanding. Chef’s kiss on this song, and the whole album really. No skips, I love the progression from sad to upbeat and hopeful. They really did well on this one. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I was soooo waiting for this one! And it didn't disappoint!
Something I loooooove about this song is it is so diverse - people say it sounds like three songs in one, and I agree - but everything still, somehow, just flows so /well/. There are a lot of different beats and tones in this song but it never feels jarring, at least not in a way that's anything but /fun/. It's really like a roller coaster. A true ride. It makes sense, with the visceral (but also creative in its wordplay, in both Korean and English) title, and the way that it takes a more serious topic and makes it sound so /fun/ and like a party, that Hobi was one of the main writers and composers on this song. This is 100% his forte. (Think about Daydream, Outro: Ego...) Without a doubt my favorite song on the album. (Although basically /everything/ comes in at a close second. I love, love, love BTS, but this is the first time I've been so fond of every song on an album in a while. Which is not to say anything negative, it's just like...there are 0 skips here. That's so rare.)

This album honestly just brings me so much joy. I know they've all had contributions to albums in the past but this showcases how much they've learned, grown, and really come into themselves over the years. I'm excited about each song for different reasons and MAJORLY respect each artist for different reasons. Such an incredible group. Not only the talent but the work reflects so much in their music. Forever impressed.

@@Moroccan_mapping99 No, that high note at the end of the bridge is Jin. It's his voice. Jimin's not the only one who can do high notes. Plus if you look on Twitter, there's a vid comparing his G5 note in WABP: The Eternal to the G5 note in this song and they sound exactly the same.
