Is a "Budget" Brand Ready to Level Up...?? #MAKEMUSICATHOME || Harley Benton Amarok-6 Demo/Review Видеоклипы
Whoops, meant to have this one scheduled for tomorrow, but I guess here we are lol. Baritone and an Orange Rockerverb. Two firsts in the same video. Serious question, though: what are some good Opeth songs to start listening to to get into the band?
I see you LegalEagle. Why are you hanging out in the background of Agufish's channel?
Demon of the Falls is really good but not good representation of the bad
Ghost Reveries is the album to hit.
The Lotus Eater, from the 'Watershed' album (2008), has all the classic characteristics from Opeth: death metal heavy bases and vocals, 70's prog, beatiful lead lines, weird ambiences...
Ghost of Perdition and Harlequin Forest/Reveries off of Ghost Reveries are some good ones, as is Deliverance. Windowpane, from Damnation iirc, is also good if you want more of the calmer side.
I love the fact that when you said that you want to play something "Slipknoty", you just started playing 000100001111000000
Basically self titled lol
tuned to A# with an Orange? Now you're getting into Boris territory. Gotta hit that open A# and let it drone
I play a Kiesel 8 string through my Orange OR15. My room practically rattles! 😄
My mans out here playing Isolation off ABIII
You're getting noticeably better on guitar. Great job! Love the content.
Hunter, You exceeded yourself in this one, that demo song was mean af! omg, great lead work btw! I've been a fan of your channel for years now and it's great to see you improving not only as a player but as a content creator too
I appreciate this guys reviews. He doesnt bullshit you and his opinion on something is honest. Hes not going to tell you something is amazing if he himself believes it's not. I see many youtubers get sent gear and bullshit about liking it.
Some of the best tones you've got until now mate, congrats !
Hunter, your licks near the end of the video are some of your best work so far! Rock on dude!
Just ordered this beast in emerald green, can't F-ing wait to get my hands on it! Thank you for having a hand in designing what I hope is an awesome beast!.. you know your stuff and HB are lucky to have you aboard for the process.
Update, it just arrived... Omg it's worth the money and more imo.. get one before they stop production!.. although I wonder what Harley Benton and Thomann will bring us next.. the future is bright.
What a massive sound and amazing demo!
IMO, this was your greatest intro jam, the tone and riff was spot on
I have the very guitar you are demonstrating on order right now. Looks like they should be shipping around the end of August. So stoked!🤘🏻
Thank you so much for tuning low, especially with an orange amp. Trey already made me want the dmorange stamp, now you helped even more. Drop A# is the highest I tune and its on my pink solar a2.6.
That is seriously the best sound you've ever produced on this channel. And that's entirely subjective... not at all because I'm a massive baritone guitar fanboy or anything... and an Orange fanboy😁
The Rockerverb sounds wicked, hopefully we’ll get more of that
I think it sounds pretty good from where I'm at with everything at noon on the orange pretty cool demo also always killing it man i always look forward to your reviews 🎸 on dude
Ayyyy I see that Legal Eagle in the background! Love that dude
You are killing it with those riffs !!
11:12 I appreciate when the manufacturer gives a little extra wind. Personally, I like to take the strings off and go over the instrument. Tightening nuts and screws, checking the pickup solder job, Clean the fretboard, examine and repair fret issues, polish frets, etc.
Then If I can I'll reuse the strings. You can't do that with zero wind. I like to set up and play the the original strings as the manufacturer spec'd it.
By far the heaviest demo tracks you’ve made🤘
I really like this review of the baritone and your openness to say that you aren't used to it. very honest. I am looking forward to seeing a review by you on almost the exact opposite of this in a Vigier Guitar.
Sup papa Agu! I'm glad you're showing the Rockerverb some love. I should suggest using it with the Mesa Dual Rec blended together, it's something you would LOVE. all the meat and mids of the Rockerverb with the chugs of the Mesa - it's heavenly.
That tone is literally so beautiful I want all of that gear now! XD
Those are some nice baritones there I will have to check em out andddd the OR-120 is sick af cool vid
Just purchased one in Green. I'm really looking forward to playing it. Hello from Padraig as well!
Dang this is amazing. I was thinking of getting this or the normal amarok as my second guitar. After seeing this I think my thoughts of going with the baritone is a good thought as I like my EC10 alot and the baritone handles the low tunings great :D
Nice!! I love baritones and hope to get one of this. And love your video too, it would be awesome to see more baris on your chanel!
thanks for your job, bro :D
Best guitar tone you’ve had on this channel IMO full and huge
dude sounds good..I'm really digging that tone.im a 6505+ type with a less but really I love this .I see one of these in my future .gotta say I have bought more gear watching 5this channel than I like to admit
Would love to see more baritone content! I own the same guitar and also the 25.5 inch scale version, amazing guitars especially for the money!
Good video, quality and to the point, most forget the key test is how it sounds in a track, kick ass track as well .
Dude I want one.... especially in that red, it looks and sounds killer!
Dude. Try that baritone with your dual rec and a boost in front. THAT is heavy heaven. Lol. Jungle Rot was using baritones, a dual rec and a 6505+ when I saw them live a couple of summers ago. Easily the best heavy tone I have ever heard live. Like jaw droppingly bad ass. Great video, brotha!
YESSSSSSS ANOTHER EPISODE OF PLUG N' CHUG!!
And I'm totally with you on the extended range thing, I just don't get it at all. 7 seems passable but 8 and 9 seems overkill to me.
I had an RK50 from about 2007 that I used in two different bands in the late 2000’s. One was a downtuned metal band that i mostly used the dirt channel and a flying-V with. The other was an indie/alt/singer songwriter type thing. I used the clean channel with pedals and a telecaster for that.
Both worked really well. That clean channel complimented the other guitar player’s sound, which was another Tele through a Fender super Reverb.
Awesome playing in your demo
Killer demo track! Cheers
I don‘t know, but oranges seems to me too overrated... it‘s not tight at all and way to fizzy. But great review of the Baritone
Sounds bad indeed. But I guess it depends on the genre. Not my cup of tea
Well, the thing with Orange amps is that they are not really designed for metal. Sure, a lot of metal guitar players use them, but that's because they have a very angry, dark and grindy British feel to them. The lack of tightness is a common trade off with them and so is the lack of gain (if you look past their dedicated "black" metal amps), which is not a concern in their sweet spot sound (listen to The Mars Volta's first album to get the idea of what that is).
However, there is nothing quite like an old OR120 with a cranked master and a substantial overdrive boost. It's not just a sound, it's a physical sensation. The thing scares you, it sounds plain evil.
That's kind of the origin of the "Orange as a metal amp" thing we have today. Orange as a company caters to that subset of players and it works to some extent, but they stayed true to two things - the tone character and the fact that you need to crank them so they can breathe better. And that's exactly the opposite of what today's VST-loaded tightness-worshiping proggy bedroom metalheads want in an amp. A lot of people tend to crank the gain, turn the volume down and expect the thing to behave in a room alone or with some backing tracks - it WON'T! Oranges are moody and hissy outside of a loud band setting. But in a live mix - oh boy... It's something else. But even then, you can't exactly play fast technical stuff on them. Not their vibe...
@@Pizvo thx for the insight. I did dig the sound of the amp when he played a bit of slipknot suited it really well!
@@Pizvo I agree with this. I think a lot of people who are into extremely tight and 'not messy' distortion and fast metal will not like an Orange. If you are into stoner, sludge or doom, they are amazing. I honestly think the Orange has more feeling and soul than a lot of the VSTs and metal amps today, and the genres that it's used for have more feel than the fast, technical stuff that is the norm today, in part due to amps like the Oranges.
I would say orange is a taste thing you either love them or not
Just received mine. Harley Benton used to be that typical, super cheap in-house-brand and I've tried some really crappy HB guitars. But obviously Thomann is really up to something with the new Amaroks and the Fusion II. The Amarok baritone is probably the best playing guitar I've ever had and I have to say, I was always more than happy with my Ibanez, ESP and Gibson guitars. Everything on this guitar just feels good. Yes, the often critisized wiggly toggle switch seems to be a thing with the Amarok, but other than that I'm mindblow. Even the setup was quite good.I had to adjust the neck a little, but thanks to the smart trussrod system, that was done in a minute. I found some tiny minor flaws in the finish, but we are talking neck-"joint" and on the downward side of the fretbord. So don't be afraid to buy. This baritone is magnificent!
The mix is kind of awesome! :)
Bro just low-key writes one of the heaviest slipknot style songs since they put out the Iowa album... Bravo good sir 🤘
Thrice uses baritones. Great band to try and reference from to get good tone on a baritone. The metalcore band Erra also used em back in the day before going heavy on the 7 string guitars
That. Demo. Is. SICK! I am a SUCKER for Drop A# tuning, and my god, this sounds FILTHY NICE!
PRS has released a handful of SE Baritones.
We would love a video comparing all the PRS Baritones.
Wow dude... That guitar is awesome
i listen to this through some decent openback headphones and an audio interface. its amazing.
11:53 this made me flinch as I didn't expect that from you
I love the longer scale guitars but the getting used to the frets being further apart was a challenge at first i use a schecter 7 string and its a little bit longer but i still felt the difference playing power chords in standard tuning
Have to say mine was set up like a gem. I'm on a few Harley Benton Facebook groups seems like B-stock generally have a better rep far as a setup and action goes. Maybe because they get worked on twice, or more I should say? Also my strings were not wrapped, had a nice 90 degree amount.
That is a beautiful guitar, though 27" is a little too short. 28" and longer is where its at for Baritones! Either way, sick tune man, and welcome to the world of baritone guitar! Once you get used to them, you won't want to go back to regular length guitars. Also, you should plug it into your rectifier if you really want some brutal heavy tones! \m/ cheers!
I hope one day you'll do more baritone guitar videos whenever you have the chance.
More than anything this vid just makes me want a big Orange to mess with
I would love to see a Multiscale Amarok in near future
The current Harley Benton multiscale is just ugly and bad sounding with stock pickups
We’re working on it... ;)
@@agufish WOOOOOOOOW
WE LOVE YOU, HUNTER!!!
@@agufish YO POG
@@agufish my hero!
I have the 7. I thought it sounded like ass when I first got it but with my amp set up appropriately and cranked way up I fell in love with the pickups. There is something about the emgs that isn't quite right though for some things. Less versatile than passives so I might swap them for some lollars later down the road.
I can’t believe your riffs sound that YUUUGE with 9+42’s! Is it feel or tone for you? You have great vibrato for using such light strings!
Cool song, in some wierd sludgy way Orange fits it.
2:38 Nice Alter Bridge tuned down hahaha
I scrolled through the comments just to see if anyone else heard that. “Isolation” 🤘🏼
Would love to hear that on some other amps. Orange's distorted tone, never really does it for me, unless it's doomy, sludgey stuff. I think that red is my favorite of the colors.
Finally got my Baritone! Fuckin love it!
Lol I like the legal eagle cameo in the beginning
This is hands down my favorite demo track of yours. Shit Hunter. Brav fucking o
Haven't seen nope.avi in ages, nice.
Bro hetfield's purple baritone snakebyte is so sick. Also, any word on if there will be any epiphone slash guitars, or maybe a 70's style silverburst les paul custom?
Go low drop g and lower... Absolutely a great video. Woof!
It looks like it has nice features for the money. I can clearly tell that they're trying to tap into Rabea's market, and his ML3-BEA is supposed to offer "all the best parts." I have one, which has a bolt-on neck and some binding on the body. The HB has the steadier neck design for less money. I'd say it's a bargain, and the switch can be replaced, cheaply!
Dope playing! May I ask how you did the drums? Did you use a software for them or are they recorded?
i have one and i love it,.. sonds great 👍😁
Nice review and I would agree that your opening tracks are getting better. Still liked the SG Modern track best! Perhaps the Harley Benton team should have someone in the US inspect and perform set-ups prior to the final shipment, like Schecter does. It makes a huge difference in value/quality perception! My Schecter jumped out of the box with none of your noted Harley Benton issues. Lastly, these budget guitar manufacturers seem to forget that their lovely 3rd party pickup signal goes through these cheap switches and output jacks! I say, spend a couple of bucks more and use the good stuff. Consumers notice crappy components that sound poor and at the end of the day, your rig is only as good sounding as that crackling tin switch is!
If you can get your hands on one, I'd love to hear what ya think of the Robb Flynn Love and Death Epiphone Flying V baritone. First time I picked one up I thought I'd hate it. First string hit I fell in love. Never had a guitar fit me better.
Hey! It's Legal Eagle! Yay!
Hey man, awesome
Review!
Can you remember the String Setup and which Gauge ?
Regards from
Germany
Hmm... could do a Dean Cadillac tuned down to B with 13’s. Also, got try that Orange Jim Root Terror.
This COVID “thing” got you acting irregular! I couldn’t stop laughing. Great vid. Keep up the good work and thanks for the content. What’s up with that Agile oceanburst? Let me get that off ya....🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Now that you've dedicated a bit of time with a Baritone, I think it would be cool if Chapman would let you have a look at one of Rabea's signature baritones. Just to compare and see the differences in tone and feel etc.
If you love baritones, try a 7-string baritone. I got one and set it up (low to high) EADGCFa so I’m having fun down in 8-string land all while only having lost the high e string.
First time stopping by this channel, and I have one burning question that must be answered!
What episode of Legal Eagle were you watching there?
@agufish do you do the drum parts as well in your tracks?
I play a 30 inch scale super strat for Loathe stuff, drop G, F and such. Even Drop E, combine that with dive bombs and pull ups its sick.
Although allot of my mates freak with the size of the neck, it's rather comfortable, kinda like a short scale bass but with a Shallow D neck profile. It's not for everyone but it definitely packs a punch.
The guitar itself I am super interested in. I just do not like orange amps for the most part. Too muddy for my taste.
That said would you recommend this or the 7 string?
Looking to get one of these soon, however, I have seen that the pick ups are direct mount, can I install any pick up or does it have to be a special type?
What is the lowest tuning you'd go on this out of the box? I just ordered one as my first baritone and I'm kind of hoping to play drop E on it. 😅
I recently got a Harley Benton CTS-24
Should I do my own high intergerty mod?
So no quick connect on this baritone ? I have the regular 6 strings and there is a quick connect... So maybe there's something wrong ? Now, you could not have swapped these HOT 70 for the Het Set anyway : the cavities are not long enough to put in something else than retroactives. At least that's what I have noticed on my amarok 6.
with my rockerverb i like to have the treble little before noon, mids a quarter past noon and my bass kinda low maybe half before noonish? then i run a precision drive and a gate
Real talk, how does this thing sound when you play it acoustically? All my favorite instruments sounds great when played without an amp. Just curious how this thing sounds without an amp.
Was the lack of quick connect due to the factory not installing the quick connect? Cause when I look them up on the website it says they come with solderless installation
Discord notif. Gang 🤘
Just found ur channel today as I was looking at the cort Kx500 etched I like that purple top & I just couldn't find it anywhere but in the black....bdont get me wrong I think the black etched top on the mahogany body is sick looking if the fingerboard was darker like if the guitar was black on black id like it a bit more.... but EVERYONE has the black Kx500 .... that is why I would like to get that purple one since no one has 1 or at least there are fewer ones out there...... it looks amazing in all the cort pictures but in owner pictures the fret board is really light in color I wish it was dark like a dark ebony or something that would match the dark etched black top of the body better.the lighter color fret board matches better with the violet purple body .. at least in my opinion anyways. But its just a personal preference when it comes to color.... not a performance issue or anything like that...... I've watched like 5 of ur videos so far in the last hour & u now have a new subscriber.... keep up the great work I love ur honest reviews even when u are working with the company making the guitar I respect that alot.....God bless u & ur family
Holy fuck that tone sounds massive
Can you review this guitar when it comes out next month, Charvel Pro-Mod SD1 HH FR NeonPink Ash, no one spoke about the old yella version. Cheers buddy.
Hey Agufish, i am wondering why you put a lace at your guitar head? Is it only for the style or is there another reason behind it?
Also drop A# is my favorite tuning along with C#
My orange crush 20's distortion channel can't do the chug and its all in the volume that needs to be up, kinda tightens up the sound but I just use a boss md2 for my chug. The general distortion sounds like a wet blanket over the speaker
I've tried for the last 3 months to get one of these. Been out of stock for ages.
You should order it despite "out of stock" status and you get it because your order will be in queue but If you plan wait for "in stock" status you'll be wait years because all orders are sold out before coming to the store i think )
I’ve never wanted a baritone guitar before....until now! Effin awesome! (Even if you’re only 16 according to Phil McKnight! Lol)
What’s the string gauge that comes with this? D’addario baritone light? 13 - 17 - 26 - 36 - 46 - 62?
Do you think it will ever be available in a lefty at any point with any of the new harry Benton's
I have my PRS 245 in A# lmfaooo 52-10.5 Monday slinkys with a setup for drop C and its clear as a bell.
hey hunter have you heard the new gojira?
Epic video
I'd really love to see this with a Floyd on it! Then it would be truly perfect!
