I have 2 Amaroks, both are amazing and absolutely can not be beat for anywhere close to the price. I’ve been playing baritone guitars for a few years, when you want to go low, there’s no better way!
Harley Benton sent me my first Amarok-7, it was great, but then it started to have an issue within about a week, I think it's a pot issue, I need to check still, they quickly sent me a whole new guitar, and didn't even have me return mine. Amazing company and I will be going with them again.
The thing is (for now) I want to stay in the EMG ecosystem, because then I don't have to swap the whole wiring, just the pickups really. Funnily enough, just today I bought a set of EMG 60/81 second hand, we will see have those sound in this guitar...so stay tuned! Thanks for watching! ;-)
@@MadebyMiike was just a suggestion to consider in the future if the emgs aren't for you. Though to be fair emg had so many different pickups to try. Some compressed, some smoother, others more aggressive. Just depends on taste and experimenting. I'll definitely look forward to hearing how those sound then in a baritone though.
Why are they building the guitar with a thicker neck the further down and brighter you are playing where you will play more lead stuff ? That just does not make any sense. On any other guitar I know of that comes with a neck with different thickness on it, they have a thicker neck in the beginning up closer to the head where you are most often playing chords and often want more of a thicker and wider feel and then going down the neck to the brighter notes where you are more prone to play solos and faster stuff the neck gets thinner and faster, that makes more sense and is just logical. Just sounds dumb and not thought through at all ? Or perhaps this is something that they need to do because this is a Baritone guitar and it has to do with strenght on a longer scale neck ?
Definitely the Alpha and Omega pickups by Seymour Duncan. They are a little bit more expensive than their standard pickups (I guess because they are Signature pickups), but worth every cent. They just sound right! And sweet played clean!
The baritone is a longer scale length to facilitate down tuning so you don't have into ation issues or have to use monster strings. The longer scale length maintains intonation much better and sounds different (imo better). Try one out some time. They're fun!
Hello, great vid, I bought an Amarok-BT but I swapped the strings to 12-62 since I prefer a little sloppier Standard B/Drop A, but even using the truss rod the 2 top frets (lowest notes) are hell of a buzz! The rest of the fretboard sounds fine, should I return the guitar or take it to a shop and adjust those 2 frets?
@@Luca89ibanez ahh, bstock, somemine might have messed with it or such. Get a new one. I got 3 all play beautifully. I've changed to playing my Ormsby's mainly, along with my Strandbergs, but they're still great guitars, amazing pups and stainless steel frets that are nice, idk the exact form of stainless steel, but it doesn't seem to be cheap like some brands "SS frets" are
Got mine today...I absolutely HATE it! . full of flaws and the setup is horrible. not a baritone its a Buzztone all up and down the neck . Sending it back .
@@MadebyMiike I've decided to just get a charvel or JP 150 . not sure I will risk a HB Again. it's a shame because it was stunning ! and if I was a tech I could've probably after a few hours have made it great.
Typical Harley Benton, a great guitar trying to escape a poor choice of pickups. Buy some humbucker pickup rings and a router, even a dremel is far better than files. Good luck with some better pickups, i have a box full of HB pickups that i can't stand the sound of.
lol .... they are emg pickups not harley benton roswell ... in the emg catalog on the emg website .... i had 2 guitars equipped with retro 77 and retro 70 emg and both sounded defined , huge , and cut ..... its all about a bit eq and knowing how to dial a guitar sound
UPDATE:
I swapped the pickups for a set of EMG 60/81! You can watch that video here: ruclips.net/video/gPO8W6Wzax4/видео.html

Yeah I really like it! Been playing it everyday almost since I got it! ;-)
Baritone guitar...... uses a capo. BRILLIANT!!
Brilliant to compare the sound to the non-baritone, yes... ! But granted, I would have loved to hear the looows !!
Fake compression?! What does that even mean?! The pickups either compress or they don't.
thank you, wonderful comparison of the pickup quality! In a such a short video its very informative
I haven’t noticed any of the negatives you had to say about the pickups
Same I love the pickups in my amarok. Not thrilled about the neck profile however.
@@JD-vj4go they aren’t the greatest and I’ll eventually be changing them, I don’t mind the neck profile, but I have big hands

For the pickup replacement issue, you could try the fishman fluence open core classic pickups and see how they work for you.

is it just me or does it look like the plastic is still on the EMGs?
Yes💀
I’m getting this guitar and putting Tosin Abasi’s fishmans in it
Also, the 24v mod would easily fix how closed these pups are. I use the 24v mod and it has the compression only when I want it do I have it.
Which pickups do you recommend for clarity and separation in the high-gain low end??

Had one, installed 81 In bridge without any work on pickup cavity. Stock pickup was broken.
I mean, even the LP sounded like a can of bees. The issue might be your listening environment.
What is the difference beetween the baritone and the regular 6?

Muddy... Well it depends about your setup and playing style also
Do you think this would Stay in tune if I tuned down to Drop G#? Im so tempted to order one and see if its works good.
I did just that like 2 weeks ago. Stays in tune. Go for it.
Did the new pickups fit?
Not perfectly, had to file like 1mm on top and bottom away.

I hear you, quality control on Harley Bentons is lacklustre at best! My tip would be to always order two or three HBs and keep the best one!
