      In different parts of the world, cremated remains are not processed (pulverized) and are returned just as they are when they are removed from the retort (cremation chamber).
      If your husband was cremated in the United States, it is standard practice that the cremated remains be processed though it is not, to my knowledge, a legal requirement in the state in which I practiced for 16 years (Texas).
      All of that said, in my experience I personally only saw unprocessed cremated remains when the cremation had been done in Asia.

    Wood Funeral Home has always been a reputable, sincere, compassionate place who truly cares about the lost loved one and their family. In the depression era in the 1930s my grandparents lost their first born to a staph infection from a little scratch he got on his cheek, when he was 2-3 years old. My grandpa went to the owner of Wood Funeral Home and said, This is my little boy, but I've only got $10 in my pocket." The owner placed his hand on Grandpa's shoulder and said, "Preston, we will take care of your little boy." To save money, Grandpa and his brother built a little pine box for little Clyde, then put the make-shiff casket in the back seat of their car and took him to Wood Funeral Home and they took care of the rest, both physically and monetarily. That exceptional they took of my grandparents and that little boy has carried on from generation to generation in the Wood family. We will be forever grateful.

Yes I am an Open Mic guitarist. When I'm done being cremated, I want my ashes to be swept up into the sound hole of my acoustic guitar. Seal the sound hole and make my guitar case my casket then put me in the ground. Who's decision would it be ? Me or my family ?

    Funeral directors and their staff have the toughest job in the world! They deal with emotionally stressed customers daily, imbalmers deal with the gross part of making a dead person look presentable. I always assumed it paid well. I had to make arrangements for my son 2 weeks ago. The funeral director said they need help at his place. Everyone is afraid to work around dead people because of the pandemic. If anyone would like that type of work, there are job openings. Imbalmers would need a degree and license but greeters and office people probably just have to be nice and have nice clothes.

    I think it is totally crazy that there is such a long wait before cremation can be done. IT dont even make sense. If you have already paid for your cremation and made arrangements for the disposition . Its just crazy that there is such a long wait .Should be no difference in cremation or ground burial.

    • @steelerfan1933
      @steelerfan1933 2 года назад +2

      The difference is that cremation cannot be undone, should further investigation be necessary into the cause or manner of death.
      Therefore, the proper legal authorities must sign off saying that they know without a doubt how the person passed away.

    not picking on this guy some do care. but having said that there are situations where some are only in it for the Buck.. and do not care for the body or Family and he knows it and should stand up and say so. and get together with other funeral directors and say it's time to stop this. God Bless the Family's who had to go through this with the other funeral home.

    "We do all of those things to "TRY" and ensure and let the families know....."🤔. Someone who is assured wouldn't say "...to try and ensure..." You would be able to ensure 100% correct? Why does this guy seem full of trepidation when he explains families concern with the remains being their loved one? Not reassuring tbh. Dude seems like he want's to be anywhere other than answering these questions at this moment. Just saying.

    Liar you absolutely DO NOT have to embalm someone to have a viewing. There are ways to keep the body cooled for long enough for visitation.

    • @shannon9247
      @shannon9247 3 года назад +15

      You can totally have a private family viewing without embalming (usually that means around 5 people coming in to visit a loved one) but he is talking about a public viewing, in that case you% need embalming, the funeral home would be breaking the law if they didn't embalm. Its a public health concern.

    • @melisa8256
      @melisa8256 3 года назад +6

      @@shannon9247 No it’s not a public health concern. It’s a money issue and a funeral home lie. There isn’t any harm that can come from a dead person who’s not been embalmed. Unless your relative dies from Ebola it’s perfectly safe.

    • @shannon9247
      @shannon9247 3 года назад +12

      The laws are different in every state I'm guessing, but it my state embalming is required for a public viewing at a funeral. When my dad died this year I came in and viewed him before his cremation and he was not embalmed since it was just a private family viewing. Funeral Home didn't lie to us, I chose a service that didn't require embalming, which you have a right to do so as a customer. If you don't want embalming don't choose services that require it

      Exactly right and I wish people would discuss this more. The toxic sludge is dumped into our water systems its outrageous. Thousands of these done in each town dumped into the water system. It needs to be banned lets starts a hashtag or something. The toxic chemicals and diseases in the blood all end up in our water.
