  • Sometimes, I like to go out and just practice take offs and landings. Nailing a perfect landing with lots of energy is always super rewarding, it's something I nearly obsess over. Hope you guys enjoy.

    Hi Tucker, I love your channel!
    Being a paraglider pilot myself, I'm just a bit surprised by the fact than no one in the comments appears to be pointing out that dynamic landings like you are demonstrating in this video require a lot of experience because mis-judging the situation may result in a hard landing at best, which is bad enough if you don't have a heavy machine strapped to your back. As some say: you make it look easy. Beginners need to know that it isn't. As a novice pilot one needs to keep accordingly bigger margins!

    I luv RUclips channels that are about nothing more than what someone luvs. This is a perfect example of that. It’s not about politics or religion just some person doing something he luvs. It’s so easy to see the intent in this, he just luvs to Paramotor. So cool!

    Great video. Maybe a follow-up on trims: what they are, what they change, how they affect different aspects of the flight at different settings (landing, climbing, turning, barrel rolling, etc.)?

    • @gabepike4026
      @gabepike4026 8 лет назад

      Jacob Brubaker Trim, at least on most aircraft, makes small changes to pitch. This helps an aircraft keep its altitude or heading. I'm not entirely sure how trim works on a paraglider, though

    I love how you're going back to the basics. I did that with RC planes. I did touch and goes all day long for quite a while. Others wondered why I did that so much, but now I can land anything way better than most more experienced pilots. Same with helis. I can out hover ANYONE!... Well,, almost. But still,,,, it pays off BIG LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, the ones that will be practicing these are newbies and your base to final approaches are NOT for those people. They should line up further out and feel it out. These fast approaches could be ankle busters. Not stepping on your teachings, just clarifying that these are for intermediate to advanced flyers. It's all too easy for a guy to want to impress his mates with a cool new maneuver and end up in the hospital trying to advance too quickly. YOU my feathered friend were born with wings, God bless you, but most are not. Great tips for those up to it though bud. Keep the vids coming for I am building my dream bucket list off of them. Love ya bro. Clear skies and happy landings!

    I really like and appreciate your efforts to show us your flights. I really like that you are trying to educate us rather than just take another video of flying like some do. Even more how to and instructive talk would be good in my opinion. The video taping of the landing from two perspective cameras was a very nice touch. One technique that I learned this summer from an advanced instructor regarding a method to get extra energy for the landing is to pump the brakes three times at an elevation of maybe 75 ft. or so. Try it up high to get a feel for it first. It is a very noticeable dive and then the pendulum swing that follows. Try it. Let me know what you think. I had a ball when I learned it. Thanks for your videos and effort.

    hey Tucker I've been watching a bunch of your videos today and am hooked. your great with the camera and it's easy to see why you love this so much. Crater one was my favorite so far. this is definitely something I wish to take on and was wondering how a person who is terribly afraid of heights would go about getting started. the reason I'm afraid of heights I believe is because I'm not in control but I think this could totally change that. anyway your awesome and look forward to more videos. rock on flyman

It's sucks when you land & your wing goes right into the bull-dust. I try to spot land my wing on my tarp....sometimes I get it, (see my videos) & sometimes I don't.
