    I got this lock in early December and this is the first time I'm about to charge the battery. Constant use every single day with the kids coming in and out the house a million times and pushing that Fingerprint to its max. Overall, the battery was my main concern but after almost 4 months of heavy use I am very satisfied. I've had Schlage before too.

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  Год назад

      Yah the battery life is very good. I think it might degrade over time and not holding as much charge, but that could be 5-10 years later and you can get a replacement battery from Eufy.

    Great video !!! May I ask a quick question you may have a better idea. When I scan the QR code or enter the code it says the code is error sn... I ask service and they send me your RUclips link. So, any idea if this is my case what can I do? Thank you

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  2 месяца назад

      Is it the step that eufy app generate a QR code for the smart lock to scan? It could be that the smart lock is not able to see the QR code well. You may try to turn the brightness of the phone up and move the phone slowly from near to far so the smart lock can see it. Or it could be that the smart lock is able to see the QR code, but the information on the QR code doesn't match what it needs. In this case, you may try long press the sync button again to re-start the sync process.

    I have configured access code for the lock and I am wondering if it will work without internet once installed? Chime won't be installed yet so just standard lock unlock using access code is required from the lock without internet. Thanks

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  Год назад +1

      The access codes are stored locally on the door lock. When you set it up you do need the internet access. But once it's set, it will work even if the internet is out.

    Do you have double doors? I have double doors and my deadbolt doesn’t go all the way in because of that center piece atttached to the other door.

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  Год назад

      Yes I have double doors. It's likely the niche in the other door is not deep enough so the dead bolt doesn't have enough room to go all the way in. Try to see if you can make the niche deeper or find a shorter deadbolt.

    Just got mine set up today and I watched your video and learned a few things from it like where the key whole is, thank you so much! Can someone verify if we can still unlock the door when the power is out? With the battery back up I’m thinking so, just not able to record anything because of the wifi being out. Also, anyone know how long the battery is supposed to last? Thank you.

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  Год назад +1

      The key code and fingerprint verification are stored on the doorlock itself so will still work if wifi goes out from power outage. My battery lasted for 6 months with frequent usage before needing charging. Charging only need a couple hours.

      Eufy is actually working on that. There’s a news update about Eufy planning to integrate all devices to Homebase 3. Once integrated, then should be able to use facial recognition and automatic actions for all devices:

    Is there a way to set up auto record when it detects motion? The only way I can make it record is by tapping record when I go live with the camera. Also do all clips get saved to photo album ?

    • @randomhomegadgets

      Every time when it’s motion activated it will start recording automatically. The clips will be saved at the microSD card in the Wi-Fi bridge. You can see all the recordings at the event history section. You may select the clips and download to your phone if needed.

      2. Enable the function of the Doorbell ringing event sent to the Alexa device
      2.1 Open Amazon Alexa App > Click “Devices” > Click “All Devices”
      2.2 Find the Smart lock device that needs Alexa notification
      2.3 Enable the “Doorbell Press”

      Did it start the calibration then failed? Or did it not even start the calibration? May try to calibrate with the door open so nothing is blocking the deadbolt moving in and out. Also make sure the battery is charged. May also try resetting the door lock.

    A bit of a useless review. "You may turn on the night vision optimisation setting" information like this abound but not giving a clue what it does, if it does it wel or if it is useful. Suggests to me that the reviewer doesn't really know what he's talking about. I can read a manual and push settings myself. The pros are just copied from the manufacturer and shows the reviewer didn't really experience using it. It does work with homekit. You won't see me next time.

    • @randomhomegadgets
      @randomhomegadgets  Год назад

      Thanks for the comments. The night vision optimization setting is for situation with partial obstruction of the view by the door frame, since it reflects infra red light. As you can see my door situation doesn’t have this kind of obstruction, so I won’t be able to tell if it works well or not. You are welcome to check other reviewers’ video too. Have a good day sir.
