    Very detailed - love it as you went into depths that other reviewed did not. Appreciate the extra effort, as vids for just entertainment can be shorter, but for tech especially home security hardware, where I'm going to spend serious money, I want to know it in-depth before I buy, so yours was PERFECT! Please keep that up 😀

      Thank you very much for your kind words @Spartan-mh7im! I often debate whether I should make such long videos, and if people can even stand watching such long videos when I spend so much time dwelling on app settings. So I'm happy to hear that you found the information in the video useful enough to warrant the length. I share the same sentiments as you, I also prefer to watch longer videos that explore as much of the product I will buy, especially if it is a sizeable purchase, and like you said, especially when it relates to security. Thanks for watching and for making it worthwhile for me to create longer videos 🙂

      @@DemCrumblies Cool beans. Oh one quick question - does the Wi-Fi hub (rabbit eared device) accept micro SD cards that are marked 'U3' class? I'm looking on Amazon, and I see a lot of "UHS-I" marked ones that are also marked "U3", but ran into an FAQ on Eufy website somewhere where they said their devices only accept ones marked UHS-1 - not UHS-2 or UHS-3. Awesome video! very detailed - I think you missed the small button on the bottom of the outside unit - the manual says it is a reboot button.
    the only problem is that it has a "standard" lock cylinder that can be exposed, and that can be lock picked... :(
    They should have either not included a mechanical key mechanism, or used a non-standard high-security cylinder..
    The Eufy S230 on the other hand has at least a non-standard key.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  Год назад +1

      Wow, I don't know how I missed the reset button at the bottom. I agree; with so many ways to open it up, I also would have preferred to not have the key option, but I guess they kept it too in case the battery dies completely. Yea, my Eufy Smartdrop delivery box also uses a non-standard key, too bad they didn't carry over that design. I know people complain about the difficulty of duplicating the non-standard keys too, so it's hard to satisfy all wants. I'm personally comfortable with non-standard keys because I'm pretty mindful of not losing them.

      Hey Andy, I never thought to check if I can use the existing lock cylinder, but take a look at this part of the video because it shows the black plastic part in the cylinder having a top notch. If your existing cylinder doesn't have top notch, it may not rotate properly. You can always leave your existing cylinder, connect the front and back and see if you turn the lock if it engages before you permanently secure everything. ruclips.net/video/mUAo9ckRWW0/видео.html

    I installed the same lock and at the first step to calibrate itbsays the deadbolt is stuck and it won't go any further can you help please

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  Год назад +1

      Hey Zina, the calibration part requires that the lock bolt and the opening be fully unobstructed. Before you calibrate the lock, are you able to turn the lock knob manually to ensure that the bolt goes in and out of the opening without any resistance or pressure? If you notice any pressure or resistance, you'll have to modify the opening, or modify the placement of the lock, or you will just have to always be mindful to push the door right up against the frame every time you lock and unlock the door. Some doors have padding or weather sealing that prevents the lock from working properly unless you always push or pull the door right up against the door frame. I hope that makes sense.

      Hey Mason, I actually have double doors too, which is where I installed this lock. It's only one lock, but there is a front and back part that goes on one of the double doors only, and the deadbolt/latch extends into a hole in the second door. If you bought two separate locks, it would come with two separate bridges, but I'm not sure if one bridge can be paired with two lock units. I can check with Eufy support tomorrow maybe and get back to you about it if you plan on buying two separate locks. Let me know.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  Год назад +1

      @@masonlucas4796 Hey Mason, I love it so far! I actually can just go for walks and leave my keys at home then come back use the fingerprint reader to unlock it (I don't even bother with the pin code or eufy app to unlock or lock it). I haven't had any glitches or anything like that with it, it's been solid. If your door frame has insulation, the auto lock feature won't work since the door has to be flush up against the frame for the latch to engage, and my door's insulation is too thick to allow auto lock. Otherwise, it works perfectly. I think I top up the battery around every 2 to 3 months, but that's because I live on a busy street with lots of car and foot traffic. I've had 1253 detected events and 921 recorded and saved events since I last charged it and it has 27% battery remaining. So if you have way less recorded events and detected events, your battery life will be even better. I'm also lazy, so I just hook up a power bank to the back of the lock to charge it instead of removing the battery pack out of the lock and charging that. Let me know how it goes once you get it.
      Btw, I think Eufy said they're having some anniversary sale right now on their site and on Amazon. I have an affiliate link where you can get 50% off the second one I think.
