@@michaelrosten838 actually no, that’s what I thought, for such a long time; until I read George’s autobiography, “ I Me, Mine” . In the book, George says that He and Patty were drifting apart, because he had eyes for another. He knew that his best friend and wife had feelings for one another, but Eric was miserable, because he wouldn’t betray his friendship, with George. George realized this; so he made it easy for them by stepping, out of the picture.

I'll be honest with you, as a millennial that's always listened to older music, I never really got the Beatles, when I could so easily listen to the stones or zeppelin, pink floyd even. The Beatles just never hit with me, UNTIL I tried LSD. This probably sounds stupid and probably IS stupid but I listened to the Beatles while on LSD and it finally clicked. I was listening to "A Day in the Life" and I could like, actually feel the song, it was bizarre. It suddenly made sense, and now while completely sober I can listen to them and enjoy them

I'm so sick of people saying that the video you're referring to is a "Tribute" to George. What Prince did was entirely disrespectful. When it was supposed to be George that everyone was remembering or honoring, Prince decided to make it all about himself! By going on that stage and showing out or more like showing off is hardly the way one pays tribute or honors someone else's music especially the likes of an Icon like George Harrison. Prince made it all about himself. "Look at me" I can just hear him saying. Yeah...some tribute...taking focus away from the recently deceased Beatle. The very reason he was there in the first place. I know I'm way in the minority on this opinion but I don't think I'm wrong. All anyone ever says about that performance is to look what Prince did. How great Prince was. Prince...Prince...Prince! Kind of proves my point doesn't it? If you'd like to see a true tribute to George check out this from "The Concert for George" done exactly one year after his death. ruclips.net/video/CrTMc2i6Lzc/видео.html

BJ! I think that you interpret the lyrics as the artist intended! I agree with many of your deep analysis of the lyrics & the message. I appreciate Asia's honesty. You guys just don't "rubber stamp" everything. You review very honestly and that is great! You both really understand the music, the instruments that you're hearing and the time or era that the music was written in. It makes a big difference to musicians & people who really play or love music. Thanks for that. Some songs grow on me over time. Maybe that has been happening to you too! You never know exactly which songs will stick in the long run! Cheers!

John Polis you do not know what you are talking about. This is the original song by the Beatles, probably remixed by now. I know it like the back of my hand since it came out when I was a teenager. You're probably too young to know. And Prince played his now famous solo at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony relatively recently (2013?). Worse, you seem not to understand that While My Guitar Gently Weeps was a revolutionary, original groundbreaking song back in the 1960s, produced and recorded on a primitive 4 track, which seems unthinkable now. Nobody every heard, played or wrote music like that. Furthermore, this original version conveys the authors, George's, deep devotion unlike any other version ever could. Any other version rode on the backs of George Harrison, his spiritual genius, and his fellow Beatles, who profoundly changed music and the culture, in ways you do not realize, even as you unknowingly walk through a world that they shaped, and absorb ideas that they planted in your mind. Yes, their effect on the culture, music, and philosophy was that transformative. Don't know if you know this, but the world did not begin the day you were born.

Asia, I think your initial reaction was similar to a lot of people when this first came out in 1967. It was okay to listen to, but they could take it or leave it. In the day, you heard it again and again, every day, from playing the album (there were worse songs on it, but you listened to them all), hearing it on the radio, your friends playing it. Over time, it comes to grow on you, and the message of the lyrics starts to sink in, and the bass guitar riff draws you in as much as the lead guitar. Unfortunately, in today's world, you go on to the next song, the next movie, and this singular song isn't pounded into your head every day. Oh, well. My (imaginary) guitar is weeping. BJ, you got the message of trying to lift up the world to universal love, and as long as that isn't happening, the guitar continues to weep, even today.

This version is very different in mix and tone and speed than the original. It sounds like it's slowed down and has an effect over it. It does matter with The Beatles because they spent almost as much time mixing songs as recording them. The OG DJs. ;) I prefer their MONO mixes anyway for a multitude of reasons (available up to The White Album and 'Get Back/Don't Let Me Down'). This is a beautiful demo song by George if you can find it. :)

George was deep and sensitive, but he was not always confident in his guitar playing. Even in the movie/series Get Back, he lamented not being able to practice like Clapton. Leon Russell spoke of playing piano while recording with George. He said they had played the same song multiple times, but George kept wanting to do another take. He finally asked George if he wanted him to play the same way or different ways on the piano, because his process was not to do so many takes. George said let’s do one more. When they finished, Leon played back a track. George said that one is perfect, and Leon told him that’s the FIRST one we did, George. Rest In Peace, George Harrison. You were greater than you knew! (Btw, I don’t know which cover this is, but I don’t really care. Good job, you two!)
