  • More than a century has passed since the public open house was held for the Salt Lake Temple, but an exhibit featuring a 1:32 scaled replica of the Latter-day Saint temple that offers an open house experience of the magnificent building opened 28 May 2010. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints unveiled the 88-inch tall, near-identical replica of the temple in the South Visitors' Center on Temple Square.

As a non-LDS Christian of a different denomination, this is so cool! I like that they thought of doing this for all to see their sacred space. I also like that they were open and transparent with what the temple’s rooms look like!

Holy temples are like lighthouses of hope for all mankind. They are true sacred spaces, where we can draw closer to God, and help our loved ones do the same, by making and keeping sacred covenants, and ordinances. These ordinances can help us to be bound to God and each other forever.

Oh good I'm glad this is online! :) I recently got to view it in person at the Salt Lake Temple's visitors center and was hoping to find a video so that I could show my non-member friends who are mislead into thinking that we keep our temples a secret because we must do weird/bad things in them. It's not a secret, it's just sacred :)

What a wonderful Idea...It's amazing & with the backdrop of the actual temple behind...Truly breathtaking.

This is really a great idea. It will take away much of what the outside world thinks about the secrecy of what is inside a building that they can't go through.

Chris Barry Because there are some people who do not meet the requirements for entering in the temple. I would advise to go to the nearest LDS Church building and ask the Bishop there is you have more questions.

Answer: After an LDS temple is "dedicated" it is considered holy and sacred to God. Therefore, people who go inside these sacred and holy places must be doing their best to become holy people. This means there must be standards of holiness and righteousness that must be met. Those standards come from God and not man. Anyone "can" enter the temple after the temple is dedicated if they choose to make themselves worthy of this privilege. I hope this helps answer your question.

40 AÑOS DE PERSEVERANCIA DE PRUEBAS PARA LOS SANTOS DE LOS ÚLTIMOS DÍAS EL TEMPLO ES LA CASA DEL SEÑOR DONDE SE HACEN CONVENIOS POR LA ETERNIDAD.
