Through this initiative we aim to archive concerts by various artists and bring to our viewers the experience of listening to complete concerts. These concerts are carefully chosen from Vaak's archives and cleaned up for the best listening experience.
The purpose of this upload is to assist the students and the lifelong learners of India in their pursuit of an education so that they may better their status and their opportunities and to secure for themselves and for others justice, social, economic and political. This has been posted for non-commercial purposes and facilitates fair dealing usage of academic and research materials for private use including research, for criticism and review of the work or of other works and reproduction by teachers and students in the course of instruction. Many of these materials are either unavailable or inaccessible in libraries in India, especially in some of the poorer states and this collection seeks to fill a major gap that exists in access to knowledge.

The only musician who lived a completely long life from the Golden Era! Blessed indeed!. We could understand the difference between the golden era and the later era just by listening to his concert when he was 90 years old!.
I think it is a crime that someone SPOKE OVER his voice in English. A simple subtitle would have sufficed! A wonderful documentary nonetheless!
I am sure there is a Tamil version too with his voice. Must be made for the overseas connoisseurs.
Yes could the original poster please post a version leaving only the Pitamaha’s voice without the English translation. Thanks.
Where can I find the Tamil version
Those 2 lines of sUryamUrthE have SO MUCH music than once could get out of one FULL concert of today's "musicians" !!!!!
What a superb tribute to the Pitamaha. Keep these vintage videos coming, guys. Good job.
Very good to know the life history of Sri. Chemangudi Srinivasa Iyer the legend of Carnatic musician of 90 years ol old. I only felt that I am 85 years old. The volume was too low. Even young person may not have listened.😊
This is indeed a precious treasure, my mind traveled back in time to the 1920s and the 30s of pristine beauty, humble living!
The Immortal Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer mama! 🙏🥺 This documentary is 19 mins of shear bliss, his concluding lines in this documentary give us Goosebumps! True to its core, 9 Decades as a Karma Yogi🙇♂️ Thanks a million for posting this Gem! 🙏
Crores and crores of thanks to you for uploading this.
What a treasure! Thanks for bringing this to light. I wish they had English subs so his voice could be heard clearly. Please share a GNB recording if you have any!
So correctly pointed out. That English translation in voice over spoils it.
Completely agree. Kudos to the initiative, but really here to hear and listen to the Pitamaha’s voice.
Yes. Pithaamaha's voice is covered by English translation. A little gap should have been given
Thanks a ton for uploading this gem🙏

Either you mute the background or the translation... please... humble request... neither is heard properly and concentration deviated
Where is this semmangudi.... I know same village near papanasam in thanjavur DT
Please mute the commentary voice where mama speaks which is audible
It is not possible because the original documentary has the English subtitles overlayed on his voice. It is not something we have added separately. It was the director's vision to have it.
@@Vaak_Foundation Thanks for the clarification
Can you please re-upload the video in it's original voice ( tamil )
Think you can use subtitles instead.
Bcos we love, nd v r eager to hear his voice
@@mathangirajaraman9729 It is not possible because the original documentary it self has the English subtitles overlayed on his voice.
Semmangudi says he was born in 1908 in his mother's village Thirukkodikaval. But the english commentator says he was born in semmangudi. Correction needed pl
what song does he sing at 16:11?
Is it possible to edit this video so that we can hear to Semmangudi mama..thanks
It is not possible because the original documentary has the English subtitles overlayed on his voice.
Maha vidwan sangeeta pitamaha 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Which composition is being played at 14:19 ?
Semmangudi is singing Kalpana swaras for the kriti Deva Deva Kalayamide in Mayamalagowla
Fulfill
Audio not clear
Audio tooooo lowwww
Please increase your volume
MAJOR SLAYYYYYYY
Please delete the audio translation in English . It is drowning out the great man’s voice.
I think it's a part of the video, not sure if it can be deleted.
Subtitles would have been better . The great man’s voice is not heard at all.
Well a personal story: there's a culture appreciating feminine voice even in men in SL music competition envn so I always got rejected because of that (accompanied by teacher politics lol) Semmangudi was like the primary inspiration for me, especially his nagumomu recordings, I continue till this day thanks to him and Balamma
