Wonderful concert Special appreciation To VAAK. Kindly do share ay recordings of my grandfather kalaimamani Sri Cuddalore M Subramaniam. Regards Ramesh
>Audio: 1958 with Papa KS Venkataramiah & Pazhani Subramania Pillai Video: 1988 with TN Krishnan & Trichy Sankaran< this was brillinat! Papa and TNK had similarity in their style which is mostly inbibed from their long association with Ariyakudi and that musical sensibilities. then TS is prime disciple of Pazhani! surprisingly the lip synch was so perfect
For my part, I am looking for the full recordings of two Semmangudi alapana-s, from the listening session held exactly 5 years ago, on his 110-th birth anniversary. ruclips.net/video/-tuWsN5yWG0/видео.html At 17:20, kalyani. And 21:08 Kambhoji? What depth, thought, even sweetness.
One of the most hastily and shabbily cobbled up patch work, which an Organisation of Vaak's repute and standing calls as a Homage to a Maestro's 115th Birth Anniversary. Good, best wishes to you!!!
This is the most unkind and unfair comment... this is an exquisite collection... put together to show his greatness as a musician... I think you may be looking for recording quality than content
@@chandranmv3590 Please list a few of the reasons, Shri Chandran. I just checked your youtube channel, and it has a long list of Semmangudi links in a playlist. Obviously you have heard a lot of Semmangudi. What did you dislike about this collection? I find the collection by R K Shriramkumar for Semmangudi's 110th birth anniversary marked by PSN Foundation quite outstanding, but others are entitled to their choice of favourites. Generally speaking, I do not like Semmangudi's (or anybody else's) shloka singing, in what is called 'tarannum style' in North India and is more like a musical reading of prose rather than proper singing. But the 2-3 minute cut by Shriramkumar of शृङ्गारं क्षितिनन्दिनी-विहरणे is brilliant. That full rendition gets boring later. These pieces should be short and crisp. Carnatic singers sometimes go on and on with them. In the Hindusthani domain, bhajans by Basavraj Rajguru and Kumar Gandharva sound divine in their shorter 4-5 minute forms. The same bhajans, when sung over 15-20 minutes by them, sound boring to me, though many others seem to like the longer versions as well.
Dear sir, in a public forum please don't write like this I know him personally, such a great Human with kind heart. He allowed people to comment himself and not took it very serious. No one can stop anyone progress if they have talent. Will give a small example for this, even this Great Mahavidwan came as a vocalist by his full efforts. All those days Mahavidwan discourage him, he cannot come as a vocalist let him learn some instrument. But his strong practice he came up and ofcourse with his gurus blessings. The professional rivals will be there in all fields. But the fate is this Great human is always targeted. Of course all has their rights to say their views. How much shishyas he has brought up. He saw to that all his shishyas are placed in very good job. A great musician with very good heart . God blessed him with good health and blessed him to sing till his breath.
Our music is Fully dedicated to Divinity. It should keep purity and self discipline. If there is no Such self discipline everything is waste and there is no GREATNESS. I agree with you. There are several musicians unable to come to lime light Thosedays. they too belong to poor family background. Cuddalore Ramesh
It is best to judge him as an artiste and not in any other way... then our own yardstick of values and morality will kick in.. critical analysis of his music welcome.. not his personality.. at least when what is shared is his music..
Magnificent collection and no words to express my sincere appreciation for your great service to music lovers. Thanks again and again.

Reasonable enough considering they can only publish what they have the rights for. Music isn't really free.

@@chandrasekaranvaidyanathan1215 No Sir, I meant the content only, that too for pretty valid reasons.

He may be a great singer but also a great politician who indulged in cheap politics ta destabilise many a great singers progress.

Kindly refrain from passing such comments. Extremely disrespectful

Not the time or the forum to make uncomplimentary references to someone who is no more.
