This Corvette has practically no relevant differences in the bodywork, it DOES NOT have a diffuser, which is ridiculous, and if it does, it is just for decoration, I doubt that it makes any difference, just as I DOUBT that those TINY spoilers make any. They should have taken the Corvette C8.R and made the ZR1 on the same chassis. Then YES, it would make a difference. This ZR1 is very generic, it looks like a random Ferrari + random McLaren. It is beautiful, and I would have one, but the only thing that makes it more worthwhile is the COST x Benefit, because it is a true Sports Car that costs less than 200 thousand dollars. Apart from that, they should have continued with the C7 series, this C8 series is very generic, but of course it is WORTH IT for the HIGH cost benefit. If this thing beats Supras, Mustangs, Dodge Camaros, and some Porsche 911s, it will have already been more than paid for.
I sincerely hope nobody has anything negative to say about this 'situation'. I call it a 'situation' because us petrolheads have been given a miracle - a V8, 1000hp+ car powered by only an internal combustion engine. This is a gift from the car gods in 2024! Thank you Chevy, bless you!

chevy, the odds of this thing not owning that leader board are extremely low. give them a car for U-Drags. If you really want to make a statement, find them a Ford GT to put it up against. you KNOW who will win.
gonna be interesting whether this is faster than the 765lt on the U-drags. Yes it has like 300 more hp, but it also weighs 300 more kg, and putting that power down will be difficult
Drop the rear wing and the acceleration time and top speed will be much faster, the wing is for the track not the street. It’s not a knock off Ferrari, it’s an American built sports car.
Stay tuned, you haven't seen anything yet. Wait till you see the ZORA. I predicted this exact ZR-1 when the C8 ZO6 came out, but I thought it would be 1000hp. I think the ZORA will incorporate the electric up front giving it around 1200 HP and probably be a special edition costing above 200k but will still be a bargain compared to every other super car out there... Lets see if I'm right.

The IMSA SportsCar Showcase at Road America will mark the 300th event start for a Corvette Racing-related entry in the program’s history. So let’s work backward just a little…
• 385,600.41: Total number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing entries since 1999. To put that in perspective, Corvette Racing is more than halfway to the distance traveled by Apollo 13 - the longest manned spaceflight in history: 622,268 miles
• 299: Event starts by Corvette Racing entries since 1999, starting with that year’s Rolex 24 At Daytona. Of those, 255 have come in IMSA series - ALMS, GRAND-AM and the WeatherTech/Tudor Championship
• 132: Victories worldwide for Corvette Racing - 115 in IMSA, nine at Le Mans, three in the FIA WEC and four in GT World Challenge America
• 49: Number of drivers in Corvette Racing entries since 1999 - DXDT Racing’s Alec Udell being the latest in GT World Challenge America at Circuit of The Americas
• 27: Tracks at which Corvette Racing has won races - Baltimore, Charlotte Motor Speedway, COTA, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport, Daytona, Detroit, Houston, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Lime Rock, Long Beach, Miami, Mid-Ohio, Monza, Portimão, Portland, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, Sonoma, St. Petersburg, Texas, Trois Rivieres, Utah, VIR, Washington DC and Watkins Glen
• 14: Manufacturer Championships for Chevrolet and Corvette Racing since 2001
• 1: One manufacturer, one car brand and one program for 25-plus years: Chevrolet, Corvette and Corvette Racing
Road America, too, has been the site of more than a few Corvette Racing highlights over the years…
• 4: Number of cars Tommy Milner passed in the final 15 minutes of the 2016 Road America race. He and Oliver Gavin went on to win in class and capture the GTLM Drivers Championship that season
• 4: Generations of Corvette Racing entries at CTMP since 2000 - Corvette C5-R (2002-04), Corvette C6.R (2005-13), Corvette C7.R (2016-2019) and Corvette C8.R/Z06 GT3.R (2020-current). Both of the latter are eighth-gen Corvettes
• 8: Number of victories at Road America for Corvette Racing, the most of any entrant in IMSA
• 8: Pole positions at Road America for Corvette Racing by four different drivers
• 10: Number of drivers who have won races at Road America for Corvette Racing - Gavin (four); Olivier Beretta (three); Johnny O’Connell (two); and Kelly Collins, Ron Fellows, Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen, Milner, Andy Pilgrim and Jordan Taylor (one each)

Definitely want to see it in the drag race.
Chevrolet, allow Edmunds to use the ZR1 for UDrags!
I saw this video earlier from Motor Trend. They took it down. They must have uploaded in error.
Yes was meant for 7pm not am
Now that’s a corvette
before watching - okay, this is gonna be good.
chevy, the odds of this thing not owning that leader board are extremely low. give them a car for U-Drags. If you really want to make a statement, find them a Ford GT to put it up against.
you KNOW who will win.
Edmunds U Drags ZR1 v GTD! Please!
what’s the top speed with the high wing?
This is awesome!!!!! KEEP IT UP Chevy
Please do a U-DRAGS ZR1 vs JESKO ABSOLUT
What an amazing car! My new dream car
Lamborghini 634
Great content!! Would love to see it on udrags!!
gonna be interesting whether this is faster than the 765lt on the U-drags. Yes it has like 300 more hp, but it also weighs 300 more kg, and putting that power down will be difficult
Are you sure the split window is optional on the coupe? I thought it was standard on the coupe.
Hey Chevy! let Edmunds Cars U-Drag this supercar!
Will the zr1 be a one year production car or multiple years?
Multiple
👍👍 NOW let the U-Drags begin 😁😂
What is the red line ?
8k
@dontadeshun thanks. I have a c7 z06 and can not use the 650 hp it has. I can not imagine the power this vehicle has.
@@fedup1480 lucky person! Your welcome.
CHEVY GIVE THEM THE CAR FOR UDRAGS!!! from a c8 stingray owner!
Everyone: "European Cars are just better"
America: "Hold my beer"
I could imagine someone tuning this
I like it better without the ZTK package
I vote YES for U-Drags!!!
I think zr1 sounds great but zo6 is still on another level !!!!!
I think it will be about 1 year before Chevy hands over the keys. I know you’re going to get one before us normal owners. Can’t wait 😎👍🏾💯
Drop the rear wing and the acceleration time and top speed will be much faster, the wing is for the track not the street. It’s not a knock off Ferrari, it’s an American built sports car.
Track package, dork.
Hennessy F5 has 86mm turbos! The new ZR1 has 76mm turbos! The ZR1 is one tenth the price !
The Zora will technically be a hyper car. It will be close to 1300 HP.
Yes, I would love to see this car in U Drag it.
Get it U-Dragged!
How heavy is it? Weight matters too since it doesn’t have carbon fiber.
3600 lbs
@@nathanhenriques4351 “The coupe version has a dry weight of 3,670 pounds.” So with fluids, it’s another 150-200 pounds.
75kg more than a Z06, at comparable spec. So probably nearing eRay weight.
Fiberglass and composite quite light
3670lb dry for the coupé and MT estimates the kerb weight could be 3950-4050lb.
I like how the driver got to 180 and closed his visor. Maybe he was telling you something...😅
You are kidding right? U-Drag YES!!!!
ZR1 in U-Drag!
U-Drag!!!! Race the track version against the drop top.😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉

they did 253mph on the original 1000 hp Veyron.
I think that if they want they can achieve that speed and more, but I don't think that is the main objective.
Yeah, but how many can afford a Veyron 😢
Probably capable of more than 215, but I suspect that it's a tire issue. Veyron had ridiculously expensive one-off tires.
The Veyron is over a million dollars. If they made a million dollar C8 it would do 300 MPH. And recently somebody got a ZR1 without the big wing to 234 MPH.
@@craigthescott5074 Veyron came out in 2005. Why not compare apples to apples, mainly the new 400hp C6 Corvette in 2005. Bugatti has been 20 years ahead of everybody.
This is absolutely bonkers.
Maybe the split window could be because of the 1963 vette maybe they said bring it back for this legendary beast of a car and not because they were copying it from another car
B2K WAS A FACTORY OPTION. Please stop calling this the first factory turbocharged Corvette.
The Turbos were installed 3rd party by Callaway in Connecticut not in house by Chevy
@@user-ie1hg5ov1m I'm well aware, thank you. Now go back and read my first comment. It was still a FACTORY option like leather seats, which I'm sure Chevy didn't kill the cows in house for either.
@@sidefx996 were the Turbos put in at bowling green? No case closed shut your face
@@user-ie1hg5ov1m sorry if reading comprehension isn't your strong suit and you got your feelings hurt snowflake, but that's NOT the definition of a "factory" option. Look up RPO B2K and EVERY place you look will describe it as a FACTORY option (regardless of whether or not they were physically installed on the GM assembly line). It was a FACTORY option on the option sheet along with every other option and sold new through dealers with a factory warranty.
The blue one the blue one the blue one. Stand still and take my money!!!
Looks like it’s got the Porsche GT-2RS beat with ease.
I’m in love with this the ZR-1 mind blowing🤯😵💫
I want to visit the ZR1 Reveal!! Please Chevrolet!
1064hp can do easily 240-250mph.
Holy shit!!! That's bad ass!
It will run low to mid 5s 60-130. Very fast, about equal to a 720s
Gorgeous 👍😎😉
if/When the dealers mark the ZR1 up to McLaren 750S territory ($350k), and I was looking to spend that kind of money for a car that I would actually drive weekly, I'd go with the McLaren.
1064 is at the crank. After drivetrain lost it will be around 980-990 horsepower to the rear wheels, which is still insane.
This is true for all factory ratings duh. Whats your point?
@@02hreblue30What was your point replying to me troll. Try harder. I'm just pointing out the fact that no one is saying that and just trying to hype it up until someone buys it, dyno it, and sees that it is making damn near 100 HP less.
Instead of trying to be a smart a** troll maybe next time think before you speak b****.
Have a nice day.
Are you new to the car scene?
@@da5863 No. I actually own a boosted 5.0 its on my channel.
Let me guess......you are an expert correct? Why would you ask me that question? Did I say anything wrong? Is there not going to be ANY drivetrain lost? Have anyone said Rear Wheel Horsepower which is what matters?
Please educate me......I'll be waiting.
Gearbox take 15% of the Power,so less than 900 tò the wheel
Thumbs up for the thumbnail nod to wojak 😂
Pretty badass
205? Come on it's ZR1! Needs to go as fast as 215!
Maybe without the wing

Anyone think this will do a sub 6:45 on the nürburgring? An SVJ has.

175 from a 10k Porsche. For the xtra 25 mph I’ll pay a bit more
