Hi guys, thanks for following along on my lil Snowdon adventure :D Steve says hi. I'm just starting work on a fun lil bivi stealth camp viddy, I should be able to get that out next week at some point. Have a great eve! Claire 🌿🐻
phew, I've been clicking on youtube every day for the last few days, waiting for part 3. Only recently subbed and I'm hooked on your vids Claire. Done lots of hill walking and wild-camping and used to have my own channel but started getting negative comments and so deleted my vids. I hope you don't let trolls get to you if they do get on your comments. Your vids are amongst the very best on youtube. Lots of unseen "work" with tripod shots etc. You must have loads of footage that you bin eh? Your "3 days in the Rhinogs was absolutely epic and I've watched all 3, twice! Keep 'em coming gal; you're amazing!
I am in my sixties, Australian and have been hiking since I can remember, including professionally in the emergency services. I commend you for the following: 1. Getting out there snd actually having a go. 2. Trialling and experimenting with new equipment. 3. Exercising safety snd caution and calculating your risks appropriately ie. knowing your own limits. 4. Most importantly having an attitude of flexibility when it comes to turning back, cutting walks short, bypassing obstacles (ie. not a croquet at all costs attitude). A conquer at all costs attitude that some hikers snd mountaineers has led to many tragedies and rescues. Great work on all of your documentaries. Well done.
@@WildBeare We both know there's rather more to it than that... You embrace life and nature in a very unique and spiritual way... The perfect mentor to your lovely son George. I take my hat off to you, I know how tough it can be.
@@chrisrushen5865 thank you 💜 I'm very at home out there. People keep saying I'm brave but actually it's the more 'normal' things in life that I find hard haha.. groups of people, noisy or busy places etc. Things that other people do so easily are hard for me. Nature is where I feel I belong and even when it's hard, it's a nice kind of hard :D I have a lot of gratitude for it 🌿
@@WildBeare I'm pleased not to be the only one who thinks that way.. 'Normal', in the way I believe you and I might interpret it, isn't for me. I feel society came off the rails some time ago. I'm fortunate enough to live in fairly isolated, open countryside where I build my beautiful, traditional shepherds huts.. My own boss, working at my own pace.. with my son as my apprentice.. I recognise the strong bond between you and George. I share a similar bond with my son, we're more like best friends.
2:20 who could you possibly piss off? The cows are so lucky to have had the opportunity to have met you but obviously preferred the grass over you. Me on the other hand cant stop wearing a smile as I watch your journey. Once again i say, but this is the third part so now i obviously think you are extra special, more than amazing. Your drive and energy for the love of living is special. Let's all try to appreciate this beautiful gift of life we have for the while it lasts. ✌🏽❤
Love your approach. I’m off tomorrow for a solo hike and wild camp - my first in nearly 30 years! Kids all grown up, now time for some middle-aged lady adventures 🙂
Well done Claire. As I said and the end of Part I, the Welsh Tourist Board should have a cheque in the post to you by now, for your efforts showcasing all that wonderful outdoors.
Your joy and love of these experiences comes through. I can sense the pleasure of being in a relatively warm and dry tent after hiking in cold rain! I’m not a camper but will live vicariously through your videos.
You must amass an incredible number of miles annually. Snowdonia is around 220 miles each way and you seem to be there quite frequently. I did Snowdon back in 1969, up by the Pyg track and walked down the railway track. Was only a teenager back then.
I only came across your channel recently so have been 'binge watching' :-) Totally blown away by your whole approach to life and adventure and also the production quality of your videos. Hard to believe that it's possible to produce such outstanding content without the resources of a big TV production company. Well done - looking forward to future videos!
Aw thank you Nick! I know, it's amazing what can be put together with a phone, a compact camera and a mini drone 😄 really loving these trips and creating these lil vids, so I'm so thrilled that you like them :) thanks so much for watching and have a great day! Claire
It's great walking in the rain with waterproofs but to get drenched when you're sleeping and the rain comes down in a river, totally soaked shell shocked but when the clouds come out and the sun drys your body and clothes it is one of the most beautiful experiences you can have. 💪🙏❤🤠
Quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers - Love your positive outlook, enthusiasm and how genuine you are in your videos. Excited to see your channel grow further!
No matter how shit your day has been, how hard the weeks been. Sat watching Claire walking and her smile makes those days so much better 💕 Great to see you publicise the water crossing rucksack strap method I mentioned
Absolutely wonderful, I hope lots of young ladies see this and it inspires them, I showed your last video to my daughter (25), she already camps with me, this may just light a spark under her. These type of trips do so much for your mental health, self esteem and confidence……. Bravo once again.
Thank you for taking us along on your adventure! It was glorious. You are so positive and kind. Sure an inspiration. And you do such a fantastic job of filming. This made my day. So glad you are in the world. What a lovely, gentle soul.
I understand about facing fears. But once you get through the fear. A sense of accomplishment. I praise anyone facing their fears. Good for you. Happy trails.
Interesting advice on the river crossings. In NZ I was taught the opposite with the Pack straps. Next time you are having a waterhole swim, try hopping in with you pack on with all of the straps done up ( you may need to lean back while holding the shoulder adjust straps). Make sure you waist belt is done up tight to stop the pack riding up. A 60 litre pack with 15KG of gear will give you 45kg of buoyancy. Place feet up high facing down stream will allow you to fend off obstacles. The counter to this is try swimming with your walking gear and boots on without your pack. A good rule of thumb is if it flowing faster than walking pace and above knee deep, camp and wait or return the way you came. In colonial times drowning in swollen rivers was referred to as the NZ death. Rivers rise and fall here very fast. Different locations require different techniques. ;) Love your infectious energy!!!!!
Another great day of activity and experiences. Loads to tell your little boy. Conquering your fears for just that short effort (could see it in your eyes) makes it so much more enjoyable. Another well done. 😁
Hi Clare, firstly may I say a huge well done and congratulations on overcoming your fears on the watkin, it can be a freaky place, but with help from friends you made it, you will find many friends in the hills of Wales and further north there is safety in numbers and when the weather gets bad sometimes it's better to turn around as you was going to do, the hills are not going away. This looked like normal Snowdonia weather it changes constantly but you seemed prepared enough to be comfortable, I thank you for your honesty in the videos you make, if it's going crap you say so, I also thank you for the wonderful filming that you produce, after being away from Snowdonia not only Snowdon for over twelve years you are making me want to go back. Many thanks for what you do, happy and safe trails, Nige 👍👍

Good video, you certainly have nice scenery on your hike. I like to see someone who can hike in the rain and enjoy it for what it is, appreciating a dry tent at night and then off again with no complaints., well done👍🤗🎩
Hi WildBeril, I hope you read this. I’ve enjoyed watching you on your adventures, particularly this on. It reminds me of years ago when, Sheona my no wife, and I went walking in the mountains of Wales back in the eighties. We went up Snowden Seville times and Sheona, ever the keen wild swimmer, swam in the lakes when she could. But never in winter only when it was warm. The mountains haven’t really changed, or the people if your experience up the hill was anything to go by. We have often been offered help and been thankful for it. The mountain community are so kind, good on the chap who stuck a stone under your foot. Love the hills and stay safe. All the best Simon
Wow Claire, three beautifully made videos and a great story, told with such humanity. You may not think it, but the weather gave the story that extra edge. Good work smashing that scree slope with a heavy pack, that's no mean feat.
Such a wonderful trip! You are a wonderfully beautiful person and I am sure that George will be so very happy to see you. Thanks again for bringing me along!
Wonderful, Claire! So uplifting and inspiring. Watching this a second time with my wife who is starting her own journey. Your stories and adventures are inspiring her. Thank You 🙏

Hi Claire, I must say, you put together a great video, just watched all 3 episodes of this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your sense of humour and love for our country shines through. "Hello World" cracks me up and makes me smile. I always shout Freedom at the top of every Munro I do lol. I have been walking Scottish hills for past 30 odd years, wild bothy nights etc, I can't beleive how the equipment has changed so much, just bought the Pocket Rocket stove and it comes in a wee tiny box..amazing. I kind of fell away from doing a lot of hillwalking to focus on my music but Lockdown (like most of us) has made me want to get back into the country. I have alwasy loved photography and taking pics of the moubtains but I have been drawn to drones so got the Mavic Air 2s and now heading off into the country again. You have inspired me more now so I'm going to sleep on mountain next weekend, this weekend I'm going to islae of Mull and Iona, a place I've always wanted to go to. I just wanted to say hi and look forward to watching more of your videos, I'm sure they will inspire lots of other people to just go do it. I'm glad you got to the top with a little help, we all need a little help sometimes! I don't think I could have done what your doing when I was your age, much admiration for you. Stay safe and keep up the good work, Ivor

Have now settled in warmer climes for the last 16 years due to work and have now retired out here. We have a lot more rain than you but its always hotter here 😎. Stay safe 😷 and keep the videos coming. ATVB from sunny Malaysia 😷🏕🇲🇾
you have been a wonder for the last few days for me, what a wonderful adventure...
What a perfect end to your journey Claire, another mini series I really enjoyed, beautiful surroundings. You're such a happy soul and it's a pleasure to watch your adventures. Lee
Amazing trio of videos…..loved watching them all and Thankyou for sharing ❤️
Hey Claire, you have inspired me to get back out there now! Seeing you overcome your fear of heights and making it to the top via the Watkin path was amazing! So now I’m planning my own little adventure to Ireland, the Macgillycuddys Reeks and Dingle peninsula in September! Thank you for sharing your journey and making me want to do this stuff again.x
I had been waiting for this all week! Amazing! Thank you Claire!
Another tip top watch... Thank you for sharing your adventure. Roo x
Beautiful scenery and really wonderful camera work.
The swim, that water looked cold. I can imagine it's refreshing though 👍
Excellent!
Thanks for sharing your Vlog, you are an inspiration and a breath of fresh air, for those of us unable to join you in the pursuit of wild camping.... My joints and muscle wastage would never allow for it. Please keep sharing your experiences and wonderful smile.... David x
Thank you for taking the effort to film and share. Fantastic to join the adventure while I'm working at home. Away tenting this weekend, packing as I watch, can't wait...
Photography is just stellar in this one.
You my dear are just an amazing young lady. That three parter was absolutely brilliant. Take care & stay safe on your travels. Greetings & cheers from Bonnie Scotland.....Slainthe Mhath... 🥃🥃
Loved this video. The music and the drone shots of the opening sequence gave it an almost cinematic feel.
Thank you for sharing with us x
