Yes, me too. Although. must admit, I want this so bad I might just buy it anyway and if my paptop can't cope, just wait until I upgrade my computer next year...
I can quantify that warning- I had the bright idea of using four instances of Pipa in the new four-channel version of riffer to invent new and dangerous four-part harmonies, and I can confirm that it was only JUST possible in AUM on my 2019 7th gen iPad. The five apps consumed on average about 75- 80% of the DSP, and it was not possible to add anything further and yet avoid crackling. I settled for two voices and a lot of recording...
This is an interesting and unique plugin, and is very clearly explained here. I love the way you pronounce Pipa -- it sounds so musical! English, too, sounds very beautiful and musical in your Swedish accent.
You make fantastic plugins. I am kind of fed up with emulation plugs which I own tons of and are ultimately not really better than the real analog gears in the well equipped studios. But your plugins are unique enough to be usable even in the best analog geared studios because the tonality of your plugins is very unique and they are like hardware instruments or effects. Bottom line is I love your stuff!
This is an awesome instrument! Running on GarageBand on an iPad. You all should make an instrument like this for the Melodica! I think your version would be superior to anything currently available.
Two features I would like: {1} to add my own scatt / beatbox / other words [Not necessarily multi word phrases] {2} vocal FX like vibrato and pitch turn up or down at the end of sustained notes Its great that this is available on iOS
this looks like quite exciting technology! but there's two things that are holding me personally off from getting it: - currently the available vowels are in the /a~o/ range. i hope this will get expanded to at least a basic five vowel system of /i~e~a~o~u/ - you haven't mentioned anything about tuning systems in the video, but i hope it will accept .tun files at some point
Oh jeez 😂😅 I feel bad because I mentioned needing more voice range on my app review. I didn’t realize you guys sampled yourselves. Regardless, I love it so far and I’m glad someone finally made this!! Thank you! I can only use the GarageBand in-app keyboard. Can you guys add mod and pitch sliders for those of us without an external midi please?
Oo (or at least how we pronounce Oo) is already part of Pipa, together with the transition from Oo to Aa. No vowels are available as an extra download.
@@klevgrand Thats unfortunate. only Oos and Aas, and morphs inbetween are only half the fun. i cant make a "Yeah" with this :( - Get the vocalists in again and make another session with Ees and Iis please :)
This might be a dumb question, but does this only "synthesise" vocals based on pre-existing samples or can I use my own samples or dare I say it, can this be sung through as a vocal effect ?
As she explains in the beginning, Pipa's synthesis engine uses wavetables extracted from digitally recorded voices of a male and a female who work at Klevgrand. Wavetables are very short samples. Typically, they contain only one, or just a few cycles, of the recorded waveform. You cannot use your own samples or an audio input in Pipa. It only uses the built-in wavetables. The best example of a softsynth (VSTi) in which you CAN load your own wavetables is the amazing Xfer Records Serum: xferrecords.com/products/serum Here are some useful links on wavetable synthesis: ruclips.net/video/_w1h4vknfow/видео.html www.musictech.net/guides/essential-guide/science-wavetable-synthesis/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavetable_synthesis

Hi! The vowel slider sets the initial vowel and the modulation controllers, envelopes and lfos modulate from that point. If the slider would move with the modulation, it would end up very hard to grip it while it’s modulating.
@@klevgrand Ah, I see. What if the regular controls stayed static but you had transparent "ghost" controls that moved with modulation? Just a thought. It's nice to have a visual indication of how things are configured. Maybe an option to turn ghosts on and off.
@@Hermiel actually it would be a help even to give an indication to eben give a visual hint on the range of the modulation like for example in tal sampler or kontakt
This is something weird going on with the recording of her voice , and I mean the voice of the presenter in the video ( not the plugin ) I can't really put my finger on it , listen closely to the words that have the l;etter 'K' in them Could you tell me what you used to record your voice with ( audio interface , mic , ) ?
You mention that Pipa consumes a significant share of the CPU and that we should download the demo before purchasing.........however I was unable to find the Demo for the iOs iPad version , neither on your site nor at the App Store. How do we go about it? Thank you ( good video , well thought out )
No, you’re right. Sadly Apple does not support trial versions of iOS apps. Pipa works on all iPads it can be downloaded on, but might be a bit heavy on an iPad Air 2.
I bought PIPA and I’m not satisfied at all with the presets. They are very few, and very basic, sounding nothing at all like the amazing sounds shown in the demos.
Pipa is a somewhat 'childish' way of calling um.. female parts in polish. It's hard to watch that video without laughing. I promise i'll grow up. Eventually.
I like the CPU warning, an honest company.

Wow excellent presentation for a cool vocal synth. I'll try the demo!
Great team at Klevgrand. Everything I’ve tried is intuitive and really musical.
Just got it, look foward to playing around with...another job well done!
Great sounding pads with this plug-in, thanks for the demo.
This sounds exactly what I`ve been looking for! A fabulous plugin from a fabulous company!! Buying now... :)

THAT FIRST MUSIC IS SO COOL AT THE START OF THE VIDEO!!! OMGGG❤️
Amazing synth!!! On my top 5 ever!
Just got this for my iPad and it sounds lovely with their Modley Delay AUv3. Thank you.
Hearing her say "pipa" is like watching a kung-fu fighter scream.

I wish this had all the vowels and they added more voices, this is really my favourite synth and is so amazing. I wish :(
This would be great in a Rent to Own, along the rest of Klevgrand products.
oh man i always needed some thing like this thank u guys i am gona buy it
MPE would be cool on this.
Had the exact same thought, as a LinnStrument player. I've bought this anyway.
Really a well-done video. If still on sale I will buy it. 😀

Looking forward to digging into this
Definitely going to buy this

Wow!! my dog's name is PIPA too. and I like this sound.
Sounds like Sohn in some places... great stuff:)
Very nice, wondering; couldnt you achieve similar things with tomofon (also wavetable) after recording your own voice and dragging that into tomofon?
Amazing !
Interesting plug
Pls, add a random button that creates completely random patches.
what's the music in the background ??
This vst reminds me a lot of Infected Mushroom's music.

is the iPad version identical to the Mac version in terms of features
Has PIPA anything to do with TOMOFON ??
Is Pipa on IOS handle Mpe protocol, to work with Roli locks devices?
At the moment Pipa does not support mpe.
Dope!!!!!
hi, I would like to know if it is possible to create user presets, and how to recall them. Thanks
Most hosts are capable of managing plugins user presets. But we’re actually planning to add a user preset browser in all our plugins in the future.
