Thank you for this review…I saw it in the App Store and it was almost an automatic buy, but I wanted to hear it first…this video solidified my decision to buy…again thank you
Yes, I could see me using that a lot more than this one to be honest. I mean this one would be fun to have a play with, but I can’t really see me reaching for it that often. One that produced consonants and plosives would be awesome because you could program beatboxing and also layer it up with other percussive sounds
I looked at this app and fancied buying it and making a demo on it. But after some thought I figured Mr Haq would be the right person to demo that app not me. Turns out I was right, stunning video once again. I actually never got round to buying it because I’m swamped with apps I need to make videos about but now I’ve seen your video I know I NEEEEEEED it. 😂 keep up the great work young sausage.
Thanks - Pipa does sound great. I was on this the first day, checking the technical details to be sure I wanted to buy it. Yes I did want to buy it, because of the sound and the synthesis approach. For me, Klevgrand’s synthesizer products can sometimes be too simple. Simple is not a bad thing, it’s a good thing in a music-making context, but I enjoy being in control and having the option to dig deep into an instrument based on electronics or/and programming. This Pipa gives me just enough control to go with the curation to keep me happy wallowing in the sound. It is well worth a buy. On Thor, I had not realized it was gone from the store. Have you heard about a mobile-Reason version? Are they going to extend that thing at all? It seems like pure foolishness to give up on Thor otherwise. The mighty Thor remains a true highlight of the crapple mobile platform. (I am very down on the company having had to buy one of the current “magic” donglefest pads to replace the Air 2 I smashed - despite a massive case - on a stone floor. These foul thieves send their luxury-priced, planned-obsolescence future landfill items in fancy boxes complete with no dongles. Though they offer a selection of poorly made, overpriced dongles of the sort required for most users - since the old dongles are obsolete and new users lack the relevant dongles - on the damned internet.) I should note there are multiple ways to get vocal and formant sounds from Thor, including using wavetables or just doing hybrid synthesis. That said, Pipa is its own thing.
they need all the vowels though, maybe if they had *one of those circular interfaces, you could achieve the same modulation effects but with every vowel.. edit: typo
Pipa is awesome. The one caveat is no preset saving. I do not understand why. You do get a star indicating you have altered a preset and that's that. No saving except for host. Helknäppt på ren svenska. :)
The beginnings of a great app and Ive used it extensively in a number of songs. The limitations of the app are mainly in the variety of vocal styles. If they create some in-app purchases to offer more voices, they’ll really have something. Also, the Vowel mod control should be more clearly defined with “A”, “E”, “I”, “O”, “Doo”, “La”, “Ba”, “Wa” settings to choose from or to manipulate live.
Hi Jakob, hope you can give an advice: I bought an ipad pro but as u know, it doesnt has 3.5 jack. Got the usb - c adapter but I also have a midi keyboard, so bought the us bc adapter with usb 3.0 in order to have headphones, and the midi keyboard connected, but the audio trough the two adapters, is much lower and weak. Any recoomendation?
In your case I highly recommend going another route. I’d get a usb hub and then a sound interface instead. You can then connect the midi keyboard to that same usb hub and you’ll have a proper headphone port on the sound interface.
When I say usb hub I mean a multi port hub with multiple usb connections. The hub connects to the iPad and then the sound interface and keyboard connects to the hub. You’ll plug your headphones the sound interface. Usually sound interface headphone port have more power to drive headphones better too.
I’ve already used this in a track and I was just what I wanted and had envisaged. It’s not designed to sound authentic, it is what it is, and it is superb. I would repeat the warning re the dsp- I had four instances sequenced by riffer in AUM and it was pushing 70- 80%, crackling occasionally. Didn’t even try it in Cubasis, but simply recorded it in AUM and dropped in the audiofile...
Can not agree less. This thing sounds very artificial. Mr haq is probably affiliated with klevgrand. And for all you folks looking for choir vocal sounds - I have found better ones in synthmaster synth.
I have no affiliation with Klevgränd and the money I make of this video comes directly from RUclips adds. I’ll most likely make about 10 dollars of it if I’m lucky. I’m practically rolling in it. I disagree with you and I don’t think that the synth sounds artificial and I actually like the synth. Yeah it’s 🤯
"That guy made a great video". Enjoyed learning more about this super synth. Thank you Jakob.
Nice pipe! lmao! Great video, Jakob. I'm so glad to have found your channel. Your work really inspires me to finish more music!
Perfect explained without loosing the road on riff-raff. Convincing app. also.
Good paced video with lots of good information. Great presentation too man. You’re good peeps, thx.
Good job showing PIPA’s expressiveness 👍🏼👌🏼

Thank you for watching. Glad that you found my video useful.
Thanks for the vid. I purchased the app over the holidays when it was on sale, and yes it's pretty cool!
Great work, Homie! Some awesome tones coming out of this one! 🤗😁👊
Thank you Dean!
Love the concept here......can you make one that works just like this but with Audio input, rather than MIDI keys input?
Beautiful voices,
put it through a vocoder
Klevgrand always cool apps... 👍🏻
I’ll be doing that. See what happens. 😊
Was not convinced until I see your review
Next they should do a more percussive one that uses consonants.

Sausage! 😘 Thank you man!
I like it multilayered which other choirs

No I haven’t heard any news at all regarding Reason Mobile or Thor. I just hope they haven’t abandoned iOS. We’ll have to wait and see.
Nice Synth!!
Sounds cool

Also MPE would be amazing!!
Your comment makes me think back to a time when I used to use Delay Lama. > www.kvraudio.com/product/delay_lama_by_audionerdz
I loved that thing!
Pipa is awesome. The one caveat is no preset saving. I do not understand why. You do get a star indicating you have altered a preset and that's that. No saving except for host. Helknäppt på ren svenska. :)
Yeah the no preset saving is annoying to me too. I’m hoping that they’ll address that soon.

Yeah I’d like to see more options and different styles. I hope they keep working on the formula.

@@JakobHaq and what if the interface is connnected by the usb hub? :c i feel scammed with my ipad pro's purchase

@@JakobHaq thanks for taking the time to answer man. Appreciate that
Doug Woods beat you to it, and it’s a really good and useful app.
Beat me to what? Did I miss something going on in the iOS Music space? 😅
It’s like my OP-1 only cheaper I think 🤔

It really is!
@@JakobHaq yep!
Again super jealous Android has nothing like this
Update I got a new apple I pad 10.2 I have everything set up but I haven't checked the store yet
