Infinite Painter is really good. Had Clip Studio on my Samsung S9 and then tried IP. It seems to be much more lighter app than Clip Studio. I can open 5000x5000 pixels canvas and work it without any lag. Clip Studio had some issues
This video is amazing, I can't thank you enough. I'm sure beginners might find the video too fast, but I am a graphic designer - Photoshop etc. But I'm looking for a drawing app for my husband who just got an iPad Pro. I'm going to watch this one more time - but I think for him the Japanese app is best.
Art studio pro used to get on my nerves bc I was only used to procreate but after procreate kept having little bugs here and there I opened it back up and I forgot how good it was. The pro version is absolutely worth it. Way more options and settings than procreate and brushes are actually better in a lot of ways, I never would have said that a year ago. Procreate UI is definitely better than art studio pro though, in my opinion and it’s just a little easier to navigate but it’s worth the trade off for all the things art studio pro can do! Anyway, nice video, I had forgot about some of these apps bc it’s been so long since I tried them years ago. 😊
Yea, I definitely get the sense that it is powerful, and like I mentioned, is most likely meant for the seriously dedicated and skilled artist. Just not necessary for someone getting started.
I was under the impression that Clip Studio Paint was either a monthly or yearly subscription from the app store. The one time purchase option is for PC.
Left hand artists unite! haha, that was one thing I couldn't figure out how to change in some of the apps. Concepts App walkthrough was really nice for that.
I came here expecting to see more about other devices. It wasn't even clear which ones are running on android, you kept talking all about ipad and sometimes throwing pc in there. I'm trying to justify paying twice the money for an Ipad Pro just because Procreate is exclusively on Apple. This video was of no help at all...
Sorry the video wasn't helpful, but generally most of the PC versions are also available on Android. However, it was clear in my research that there were less android tablet drawing apps, because I'm assuming Android tablets just weren't made for that. Hopefully you found better guidance in another video, but I appreciate you looking through mine.
@VincitDesignCo it was a bit of an odd one. You say Mac or PC but you're using a tablet. Which is neither a mac or a PC. It would be iOS or Android no? For instance, I have creative cloud on android and Fresco isn't available.
This is the kind of person that would complain about the brand of beer being given away for free at a party, nobody forced you to come, but that won't stop them from complaining it wasn't what they wanted. Do your own research if you're not too lazy
Yes, what I meant was the IOS. iPad is still an Apple device, so I just use "MAC" interchangeably with the IOS sometimes. Really the options are IOS or Windows.
Procreate alternative i used on android device is Concept or Sketchbook. Clip studio paint alternative for android is Ibis paint x. Although csp do exist in android too but paying twice is too much really
Sure! Vecternator, or Illustrator for iPad are probably the two strongest apps for that. This will largely depend on what kind of logo you want to make.
@@VincitDesignCo I tried both Procreate and ArtStudio Pro and went with ASP. Sadly it has bad marketing, so most people don't even know it, and it's features are quite hidden (to achieve a clean look), but when you figure out where to find your stuff it's extremely powerful. It comes closer to PC software, while not looking too crowded.

I got a trial version of clip studio with the wacom, but I haven't tried it on the tablet. It seemed a bit daunting to start with!
Yea clip studio is very daunting! And it's really limited without the paid version. That's cool to hear about your current process though. I hope things work out with the iPad you bought. Having Fresco on the iPad, and Procreate, is a real game changer.

I am a quilt maker and often would like to use a picture of my quilt to design the top stitching on my quilt. Which app for my surface tablet would you recommend. I am not an artist drawing detailed drawings but mostly just using lines for ideas where to sew these lines. Thanks
@VincitDesignCo I used to use this app since 2017, it used to be able to ask for logins and load your old files. But it doesn't now. Also once I spent 3hrs on doing hair strands and my tablet died and lost all my progress. When I saved it multiple times. When you delete the app it can also lose your progress or if you don't complete a project within months. I lost a few artworks in the past couple of years. But that can just be me.
Yes! I believe Vecternator and Adobe Illustrator have Phone Apps. I didn't cover Adobe Illustrator, as it's not a drawing specific app, and also costs a subscription price.
Not sure what you mean. I tested out 10 different drawings apps and gave my opinions on each. Only a few I probably wouldn't recommend. The others are really just specific to your needs. For drawing, I gave my preference at the end, but nobody has to take that recommendation. Cheers.

Which of these drawing apps is your favorite? Let me know! 👇
Ibis paint x
Clip Studio Paint❤
I use sketchbook
Idk I just use random drawing apps so I can feel like an artist

I miss some very good apps:
- Medibang Paint Pro (iOS, Android, Windows, Mac)
- Ibis Paint (iOS, Android)

- HiPaint (Android)
- ArtFlow (iOS, Android)

Sketchbook doesn't have a backup system
I haven't had an issue. 👀
@VincitDesignCo if you look at the Google play store reviews, slot of other people had the same issue
What about Canva?
Canva is not a drawing specific app, so it was not included here.
dont we have one for iphone?
Yes! I believe Vecternator and Adobe Illustrator have Phone Apps. I didn't cover Adobe Illustrator, as it's not a drawing specific app, and also costs a subscription price.
Yea, Not gonna bother watching, cause sketchbook is amazing. I use it all the time.
Lol cool. Then you are good to go.
What apps are actually free to use
All of the apps in the video were free to download except Procreate.
Very misleading title. The presentation wasn’t clear and confusing. Hopefully this gets a refresh with more unbiased options.
Not sure what you mean. I tested out 10 different drawings apps and gave my opinions on each. Only a few I probably wouldn't recommend. The others are really just specific to your needs. For drawing, I gave my preference at the end, but nobody has to take that recommendation. Cheers.
I thought Fresco was $10 one time fee..
I believe Fresco has recently become free!
@@VincitDesignCo oh wow, thanks
Great list of apps, Drew! I’ve not used the concepts app but am definitely going to check it out.
I LOVE to draw in procreate and feel my brushes and style are good there, but I love the photoshop like features of Artstudio Pro, I had purchased it before it went subscription so it’s not quite so low on my list.
Fresco is that oddball one for me. I want to love it, I just struggle to. Maybe it’s cause I don’t have tons of PS brushes though…
Yes I definitely feel that! I think Artstudio Pro has it's perks for sure, and it's starting to come down to which operating system you have I guess. And yea Fresco needs to up their brush capacity game!
Iam new to these can please tell me why do u wear the gloves
The glove while drawing? It is so I don't accidentally delete something or draw on the screen with my palm.
You write u not you you dont no how to write😂😂😂😂😢😢😊😢

Thanks for commenting.
Whoch of these are vector based ?
Fresco has Vector brush capability, as well as Vecternator.
First time I'm hearing about Tayasui Sketches...
It is a pretty neat app.
Need it for clothing brand
You need the drawing app specifically for drawing clothing?
@@VincitDesignCo yes what would you suggest?
I only came here to say that the best one is the free one!
Haha fair enough.
Affinity Photo is better than them all. One time fee available for PC, Mac, ipad
Affinity Photo is fine, but not really for drawing. :)
