Few years ago, I tried to remake Elwynn Forest, Westmarch, Redridge and Duskwood in WC3 editor, I gave up after I understood it would take me ages to finish it, with this tool you really did god's work mate

You are insane but its nice to see the WoW modding and Warcraft-3 Modding community getting active again. MTL also uploaded a video of Zul-Aman expanded which is a nice surprise aswell!^^
If these maps were to come as a Mod for W3 with a custom Scenario based on the xpac story lines; i'd be definitely playing that for the rest of my life... This reminds me so much of Battle for Middle Earth where as the devs did their best to replicate locations from the movie spot on.. It has this indescribable vibe to it. Well done!

Imagine if blizzard merges warcraft 3 and WOW this could be the result.... I would love a first person map where you play warcraft 3 normal formula but as grunts footmen etc imagine all the fun sparring and you could parry attacks as footmen for example.....grunts having a wider range but more exposed to counter attacks man it would rock...
wow was created in wc3 initially. the video poster here was able to get a hold of an old enough version of wow that he can run it in war3's map editor and then launch it with wow gameplay

Mission Name: Shadow of Acherus Mission Objective: You are given a strong Undead base in the northwestern part of the map. You are to assault the enemy Human AI and take their territory in the east and south in 3 different phases. You can reasearch upgrades but cannot train units. If your supply count drops below a certain amount before the Human AI is defeated, you loose. You are given a duo of Death Knights as your heroes (alternatively, a Death Knight and a Lich). Last phase spawns (or makes accessible) a mixed faction AI to the west, assault their main base in an attempt to defeat them, you are, however, doomed to fail. Failing at this stage counts as the end of the mission.
I don't play Warcraft 3 so I have no idea if this would even work or if it would make an interesting level, I just thought it would be cool to theorize a basic outline for putting the DK starting zone experience into WC3.

@@DPPB5 TypeScript is just because it's my favorite. The script runs outside of WC3 engine to generate the map files, so doesn't affect the modder's language of choice.
Map generation time depends of how many WoW tiles. E.g. in the end of the video with out editting I tried with Argent Crusade arena (4 WoW tiles). As you can see the script it took like 30s or less. Though there might be some imperfections that will need to be fixed manually later.
@@XANAVirus that's a good idea. Generating the maps will also give the developer access to all 3D geometrics data to rebuild WoW in Warcraft 3, e.g. auto-adjust camera system, jumping over doodads. I have a vision for an open-source WoW.
@@wc3-sandbox thats so good :D ull make your own wow jajaja u can sell the project like a free wow but in wc3 reforged 2.0 like the whole wc3 campaigns + frozen throne + wow burning crusade + wow wotlk but all in 1st person camera going into the buildings and all that imagine the 1st mission of wc3 with arthas u will controll just arthas and go to kill the gnolls solo without help but with paladins wow habilities or with npc soldiers who will follow u and help you automatic :D
I always wished they just would've taken vanilla through Wrath models and used that for Reforged. Maybe add extra models from Retail, for those that want fully up-to-date models. Instead we got... Something. It definitely wasn't this!
@@Pihtorich for now the map maker needs to manually place path blockers after generation. Technically it is possible to automatically generate path blockers, though not yet implemented.
FunFact: world of warcraft still runs with the warcraft 3 engine. Only that they continually update it. Imagine warcraft 3 reforged would have used the same engine. Would look much better!
"small tool" says the humble mf after giving the community the ability to create their own Frozen throne sequel and defeating Arthus in a classic way. Would this work with "classic" version of W3?
@@josecarlitox1 thanks for the complement, it's a small tool made possible on top of the great works of others before me. And yes as you can see it works with classic units and models. Though there are some limitations with the maps I would hope to address later on.

Thanks man. The script works with data exported from the latest wow.exports that is currently Shadowlands if I recall correctly.
