For me it’s not the mpg, its more the small size of the fuel tank. A little bigger fuel tank would have been better so I’m not going to the pump so regularly.
How does this car compare to the M2 comp as far as handling, stiffness and cornering speed? This one out performs by a decent margin or about the same?
I wouldn't say it's a huge difference, just generally feels better in all those areas by a bit. It helps that the tire tread is wider on this platform, 275 up front and 285 in the back.
@@kend528 So I just had a look today, mine is 15 liters per 100km.. translates to 15.6MPG according to google. This is since taking delivery, so about 13k miles.
@@DailyDownshift I have a 2024 M2, 6spd manual trans and I’m getting 12.2 liters per100km. It is always on sport with a mix of hwy and city driving and a balance of foot to the floor fun and chilling out.
Hey nkuch I’ve been watching since destiny 1 year 2 and is this anyway you’d run one game of crucible with me? It’s been a dream since I was 11 I’m not 20 almost 21
If you want the best short throw shifter get the CAE shifter made in Germany. It has a taller shift shaft and reverse lock out. The shift gates are adjustable. The way it’s made it makes it hard to money shift.
Tough to compare since one is mid engine and one is front engine, they both feel very different. I'd say the C8 was more planted and safe feeling, while the M2 is more brash and fun since it doesn't mind getting sideways. Getting sideways in the C8 always felt risky and unpredictable, don't have that same feeling in the M2. Keep in mind, I didn't have mag ride. Supposedly, that makes a big difference to overall handling and ride quality.
Couldn’t agree more. This car is an amazing daily driver, but the break dust on my black wheels, 2 days after washing it is ridiculous! Like you said, power and handling is absolutely perfect.
biggest let-down after my 1-year: Terrible steering. It is sticky, inert, and lifeless. It won't even self-center in the slightest after a turn. How did BMW get something so critical, so wrong??? A chevy silverado has better steering.
Do you have forged wheels or the stock cast wheels? The steering feel got lighter and more precise feeling after shedding 25lbs of unsprung weight with my forged wheels. Still a bit numb, but night and day difference.
Yup that gloss black piece is swirled if you look at it the wrong way. Honestly, love detailing, always been into it and wash my cars very carefully and I feel like the paint on new BMW’s, including my m340i swirls for NOTHING. And the small fuel tank is quite annoying. Did the BMW PD in SC and drove back to Miami and filled up 4 times lol.
Another con, that doesn’t apply to you because yours is manual, is there is no protection for the radiator on the autos. When you were showing your beat up front plastic I noticed it. But there are plenty of RUclips videos that show you how to put in a protector, so I guess it’s not that big of a deal, but something you definitely need to do with an auto.
@@DailyDownshift definitely shortens it, let's you punch gears a bit more (snappy from gear to gear, and the weighted knob helps with that, I can flick it into 1,2,3,4). I like the feel, I can feel the gears going more with my palm on the shifter. I like it...bmw lacks in the shifting , manual transmission part. This helps to fix that. The clutch valve delete as well(I haven't done that though). Have you heard about cvd or thought about that?
I call my 2024 M2 a hybrid….it burns gas and rubber. No one buys an M car for its gas mileage. I especially agree with you on the brake dust. I can drive the car around the block after cleaning the wheels and the wheels are covered in brake dust. It seems to be a problem on all new cars. Manufacturers install soft pads so they don’t squeal when braking. Unfortunately they leave the wheels covered in dust. I’ve tried everything to easily clean the wheels and dust to no avail. My air compressor can run at 200 psi so I even tried hitting the wheels with high pressure after waxing the wheels inside and out…didn’t work. The dust is like a magnet and refuses to get blown away.
@@BrandenVandenToorn Race 2 at 6:58 in the video. M2 passes pylon just before the C8 and then the next shot shows the M2 driver double shift using the paddles and the C8 gets a 10 car length lead. I recommend buying a carbon fuel cap. I definitely see mine a lot 😂
Bigger tank would mean heavier car, it’s already heavy ass it is compared to previous m2
Dude yeah for real, I’m getting like 25 miles per gallon but can only go 260 miles before my tank’s down to a quarter
@@caprisunmonke1776 that’s double what I’m getting 😂
Never show when you are speeding on pubic roads ! The Police can use it against you. Only speed on the track…
I buy my G87 M2 in may and I have a month with 1300 miles and what can I said I love this car by do way I have it in red too
Bro You have to make a comparison video between c8 and bmw. Rate them based on fun factor , performance, value for money etc
That would actually be a great video idea! I'll write it down and see if I have enough C8 footage left to put something together. Thanks!
Which one do like better overall. C8 or m2

What about the weight? I drive the M2C f87 on track, and even that car is heavy.
Now they added much more weight, - so honest opinion on that?
I have a ‘22 M340 and I beat on it and average 20 MPG, was thinking about getting an M2 and wanted to know what you average on one tank? Thanks!
I will let you know next time I go for a drive!
Speaking from experience it would be under 15mpg & i drive it on sport + 24/7 in la traffic
