I took my sons on an East Lothian trip in 2021 as a result of having seen your previous films of the Glen and Gullane 2, so it’s great to see you returning there as we had a fantastic week in the region.

Hi Andy it’s the Average Geordie here.Just watched your vid and couldn’t believe the content. We have just returned from Craigielaw after 3 days.On Sunday we played Gullane 3 for the first time ever !!!! we couldn’t believe how good the greens were for January.
I have to say I have an affinity with the area the same as yourself and we go to Craigielaw many times every year.I noticed this time that Ducks Inn is being refurbished after Malcolm cashed his pension in 🤣
With reference to your comment at the end of the vid re mood music,I think that is one of the features that make your vids enjoyable to watch, relaxing music and relaxing commentary from a man at peace with his golf.Sorry but it’s Tracy c for me mate.
By the way if your passing through Northumberland again give me a shout and I’ll treat you to a game at Morpeth 👍

First of all congratulations on the sponsorship and good on Takomo for being the right kind of sponsor. The irons look great too and I'm looking forward to the review. I came to see this 14 hours after you posted it apparently and there had already been well over eight thousand views ... and it's clear why. I don't find the mood to be too down, I feel I'm watching a man at peace with his life and living the sort of life I'd love to live. I finished yesterday watching Bob and Paul's Christmas fishing show and started today watching your video as I drank my tea ... great way to end and start a day ... and my vote, Andy C. Cheers, Mike

Andy, the sunlight, vibrant green turf, contrasting shadows, and incredible views were best captured this week by your photos "a" and "b". On a separate note, since watching your videos I have played a few rounds by myself and have chosen to walk versus ride and I 100% agree with your comment on the reflective solitude this provides. Thanks for doing this - Happy New Year!

Congratulations on the endorsement for the next few episodes, Andy. Takomo are making waves in the DTC market with a huge following on social media. Some of the imagery from today's episode with the sea har was phenomenal. I'm from Aberdeen but don't get home too often so seeing the East Coast on the channel always gives me a lift. Nice to see the Glen again. I think it was the very first vlog I saw on one of your earlier Scotland's Less Obvious series. PotW is Andy B this week.

Another brilliant video. Proud Glen member living in USA. East Lothian is as special as you describe. And as beautiful as your camera shows. Playing 9 and 13 at -1 is impressive. One of my favorite memories from last summer was a round by myself at 7 am at the Glen. Having the time to let your mind wonder, ponder, and look around is good for the soul, and for your game imo. Thanks, again, for helping this yank deal with his winter depression wishing he was in East Lothian. I now have another video to watch with your earlier series with M. Duck. cheers!

Another really enjoyable episode Andy. I've been privileged to have played all the courses at Gullane several times with a PGA Pro and can only echo your delight in them. I've enjoyed Craigielaw too and have played a few rounds with - and lost a few quid to - Jonathan, the club's Director of Golf. He's a great pal of my wife's cousin, Mark Patchett, who is a member at Gullane and PGA Pro at Broomieknowe GC which isn't far from there. I'm delighted that you've secured sponsorship for the next few episodes and look forward to your continuing success.

Andy and Tracy, I am not sure how I put into words how stunning the views are. Tracy, you have become a cinematography master. The angles, the colors and composition are truly breath taking. Andy, your narration is right up there with Morgan Freeman. Just wonderful. A true pleasure to watch. And Andy, you look like that Jolly Old Elf enjoying a post Christmas round of golf. Thank you so much to both of you for producing a top quality video, week after week. I haven't even touch on the beautiful golf courses. Here is a bit of Love, Andy.......Andy b gets my vote this week. God bless both of you.

Thank you so much for giving us a better idea of where you are, the courses your playing and describing more of the landscape as well. I go to Scotland once a year with a golfer vagabond mentality and like to play places exactly as you’ve shown. Perfect example was your vid on Stonehaven a few years ago. Because of that a played it and one of the best days of my golfing escapades in Scotland. As a Texan I have so fell in love with Scotland.. be blessed friend…

I hope you managed to visit "The Old Clubhouse" pub whilst up there. One of my favourite pubs around, food and atmosphere are superb. Had a great chat with Justin Rose in there a couples of years ago whilst the Scottish Open was on. An area of true golfing heritage and a must visit for any golf fan.

Thanks for this video Andy and Tracy. It warmed our Canadian hearts.
My wife and I were in Scotland this past July and I played both of the courses in the video -- Gullane #3 and The Glen.
Gullane #3 doesn't get the same recognition as the #1 and #2 courses. Yes Gullane #3 is shorter at just over 5100 yards, but it is a lovely test of links golf without being too harsh and as Andy says is a terrific value. I believe I paid £60 for my weekday round.
The Glen golf course is overshadowed by the other course on the west side of North Berwick. I played the West links in 2019 and I got to The Glen this past summer. Yes the West Links is a fantastic golf course, but I actually like the views better at The Glen. Again Andy is right about value for money here. My round at the Glen this past July was £100 for my Sunday round. You'll pay more than double that at the West Links. A shout out to The Glen member Steve who kindly joined up with me at the 1st tee and kept me out of trouble.
One thing I'd like to point out for any North American golfers watching this video. Walkers are allowed on most golf courses in Scotland. This means my wife walks along with me while I play golf even though she doesn't play. She walked Royal Troon, Gullane #3, and Morecambe (near Lancaster) with me this past summer.
Oh and I'll vote 'Andy B' for photo of the week. I liked the light and shadow contrast you manage to capture in that photo.

Thanks for the insight to Scottish Golf. Winter pricing in Scotland might be good value but the summer has become premium golf particularly on the East coast which I can only assume has been price up due to our American friends who are more than happy to pay £150 to £300 per round. Would be really interested in your view of Takomo against Mizuno, ping and Taylormade and which models they direct compete against. We have a similar handicap and of a similar age and I am currently looking to replace my current set which are over six years old. I have just been fitted for Mizuno 425 which are a dream to hit but I am wondering if the price tag justifies the purchase. Finally, not sure what the solution is for Takomo but I suspect like most people I struggle to contemplating buying clubs without testing them before purchase however good the value might be. They do look great however and I would love to test them out.

Ok, we all love Andy and his vision to help all of us avg golfers out. Share this video with all your golf friends. Ask them to subscribe! Get this channel over 100k and on its way 500k. Personally no other channel has helped me think outside the bag to make up my bag and no other channel has helped me shoot better scores. I have a Chipper and a 5 wood in bag cause of Andy's help.

Andy C this time. Takomo, I was looking very closely at them but decided to stick with my AP2s as its almost certainly the golfer that needs changing. Stunning courses

Got to hand it to you, Andy C is my favorite. From where I come from one hears a lot about the beauty of
Pebble Beach but those courses in Scotland are just as fine when it comes to beauty and course design.
    Thanks

Like you, I have a love for this part of the World. So, it is always a joy to see it featured in one of your videos.
Take care, and I hope that 2024 is a good year for you, your family and the channel👍👍
PS I liked all the photos, but Andy C would get my vote

Andy B for the win. Great video as always. Great courses, and what a great value. I started playing the 301 Combos a couple months ago. Love everything about the clubs. Good flight, spin, controllability, and CB forgiveness. Aren’t quite as soft as my Mizunos, but close enough. Look forward to your thoughts on them. Also have the utility irons. Considered the fairway woods, but they are a bit pricey for me considering they are DTC.

Firstly, thanks Takomo. Hopefully your 'investment' will pay dividends. Congrats Andy and Tracey, this was another beautifully crafted episode. This week, I'm giving the photographic prize to AndyA. But you could also cut some stills from the video @4:48, 6:59, 8:14 to 8:19 and 8:23 and get some pretty awesome images too.
