Andy…. I am a 70 yr old retiree from Kentucky USA. May I simply say this content is the very thing my tired old eyes have been looking for. I am a golf purist, I love the game, the history, the character of true golfers. I am beaten down by all the talk of multi billon dollar deals and million dollar payouts. I think the game should be played by the dictated layout of the designers and just because you can hit the ball so far you nullify the design of the course, that doesn’t make it right.
As a purist, my thoughts often float back to the British Isles where the game began. Your travels to the common courses fills a void I have had since I swung my first club. At my age I will never get the chance to visit the courses you are taking me to and I thank you for the content of your travels. The scenery is spectacular, the courses are a wonder, and the manner of your presentation is fabulous. Please keep it up! Again thank you!

I don't believe it is selling out when the support enables you to produce cinematic videos that bring joy to you and your fans. Keep up the great work, and both Andy A & Hannah E are picturesque.

To me selling out is changing who you are and doing what others want you to do over what you want. Your content is fantastic and refreshing. Its all about golf, not just you.

Andy, I rarely comment on RUclips videos, but your channel has become one of my favorites since you changed the format. There's something contemplative in those videos that I really enjoy. The cinematography is incredible. To be quite honest, I don't care at all if "you sell out," as long as you keep doing it that way and find joy and pride in what you're doing. Finally, I really appreciate that you put the relationship with your viewers at the center of your work. It feels really sincere!

Beautiful! Perhaps the most beautiful RUclips golf video I have ever seen. The camerawork is fantastic and the shots with the fences in the foreground and everything else in the background gave the viewer the feeling of being right there with you. The “squish, squish of your footsteps through the soggy ground also gave me the sensation of being there with you. The raindrops on the wire fence early in the video foreshadowed the attention to detail that would be coming throughout the video. The choice of music was spot on for setting the mood. The course itself seemed to be interesting and the views were otherworldly and magnificent. I watched this twice, and will watch it again in the future. It reminds me of the beauty and wonder of golf, and to everyday life itself. Thank you Andy and Hannah. You are video artists of the highest order.

Andy A - Fabulous views once again. Seems nature made this course difficult without much intervention from man. Seem to recall they fly gliders around there when the summer thermals are rising but I guess you needed winter thermals!! Hope you can find a sympathetic backer so that we can carry on with these great films.

Just a few thoughts in random order:
Hanna E has some extraordinary lighting and is impossible to beat.
Your content is unique and incredibly appreciated and makes me want to instantly get poured with that British rain every time i watch it.
If RUclips views can't pay your morning toast, then I'd definitely prefer modest and transparent sponsoring over a dayjob at tesco to keep this channel running.
I just started golfing half a year ago and the spirit of this channel and the approach you have towards that sport (well, rather lifestyle) is tremendously inspiring.
    Keep it on!

Hi Andy I rarely comment on anyone else's video's but the images you share and your obvious enjoyment in the courses played as a single golfer, the same as myself, really comes through. Sponsorship to keep this going must be part of the process it is not selling out to keep doing what you love.

I found your channel about 3 years ago researching some JPX921 forged clubs. I stuck around and was drawn to your cinematic content style. At some point in time though you lost me, red arrows, shocked face, etc. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours in quite awhile and thank you for returning to what brought me here. Go get those sponsors you want to work with and make that great content you want to make.

Hey Andy! I'm a 75 year old active player....You're video on the Jumbo Max grip intrigued me to a point that I had all my favorite clubs re-gripped...I just wanted to affirm that these clubs fit my Titelist 14 way bag with no problem...You had mentioned in the video you previewed the grips in that you were concerned about how they would fit in a bag...I do love these grips...I'm less concerned now about my dreaded hook and, I do seem to get another 4/5 yards on each club...Cheers, Tony Shans

I like the new format. I can barely get through other channels that babble on in manufactures joy about the 'looks' of a new club. Or how it works - for them! I golf for the course experience with friends - not for ten extra yards. I think your new format is a winner This course was truly amazing so thank you for presenting it to us. Although, I would need a 'buggy' as I think my distant cousins call it!

What a course, just perfect for the annual Average Golfer Golf day 😃 It's really good that you find and show these gems we have hidden away in the UK and the photography is excellent. Your presentation style is unique and at times reminds me of Jack Hargreaves. which makes the viewing and enjoyment of these videos exceptional. As I have been playing with PXG clubs for the last 3 years, I hope that they will be your No.1 sponsor followed by Cafe Nero. Looking forward to the next outing.

I have really enjoyed watching your videos again Andy and have watched every one since you 'stripped back' and changed the style, looking forward to each new one. Tbh, it's just more my thing and love the style, cinematography and simply seeing different courses that are 'off the beaten track' and inspire me to go and play rather than some other style golf videos that are over populating you tube these days. Do what you feel is right and if that requires sponsorship then so be it, it shouldn't detract from what you do. Andy A and Hannah C are my faves this week. Keep up the good work!👍

To separate yourself from the other "RUclipsrs", you need a hook. You have it. This is IT. Simply stunning scenery, breathtakingly shot, beautifully narrated and orchestrated.
If I had money to throw at a team creating content, I'd be throwing it at you. I'm sure major companies will feel the same - the love and care you're taking to create something meaningful is worthwhile, and I'm thrilled to see you moving forward in this direction.
I so look forward to seeing what else you produce in the coming year, and who is smart enough to jump on board.
Hannah C - that photo was perfect. :)

Having lived in Shropshire twice, and as an avid hiker and golfer I am delighted to see you visiting Church Stretton. It is truly stunning. This town could certainly be a contender for my retirement in 10-15 years time. Admittedly I have not played this course and am now regretting that I didn’t play while I was living nearby…I will plan to now for sure.
I also want to congratulate you on the tone and style of your work. I enjoy the fact you are not following what appears to be a growing trend of the majority “most popular” golf you tubers, where originality is in scarce supply. I suspect driven by the desire to prioritise income.
    Keep up the great work.
PS. I liked the look of your over-trousers in this video, can you share the brand/model etc?

As someone across the pond, absolutely love the courses and countryside you are sharing. Only thing that would make it more epic would be to mix in some fly fishing. Nothing like what you’re sharing in the states. Keep up the great work. Sponsors are great so long as you believe in the companies because you’ll be sharing the good word about their products or services with your audience.

“Selling Out” was a good way to attract a response. I think the comments so far have certainly supported any decision you have taken Andy to develop and grow the AVG Golfer brand. Therefore I’m not sure the need for justification was altogether necessary.
That said, personally I think the direction of the channel is spot on.
It reflects the peaceful side of what can be a mentally demanding game.
Back in the UK for a couple of weeks. Hope I get a good day or two to enjoy the UK winter golf scene.
Cheers and all the best for 2024

With respect to imagery, no offense Andy, but Hannah has the “eye” (in my view) as evidenced by “Hannah c” . . . I’ve long admired her work on your channel. As to selling out, I think that’s the wrong turn of phrase in this instance. Sponsorship is a negative only when the sponsor attempts to (or believes it can) dictate the substance of the content you produce. While you can always be circumspect about how you treat the sponsor’s product, you can still protect your creative control with a contractual promise to be honest and kind, two elements of character you’ve always evinced (again, in my view). A sponsor will no doubt be attracted to your channel based on the quality and naïf what you have been doing. A smart sponsor will not want disturb the value of what you produce. Good luck! We’re with you.

It's important that you're up front about it, not like others that think they're doing a good job disguising it, by trying to hide it in the content - most people can see through that. The thing is, the commericialisation of everything these days is hard to take, but you need to make a comfortable living too and your loyal following won't begrudge you that. Plus, think you're trusted to know if it impacts negatively on the content and you'll keep it handy, as they say. Loving the new look and feel and look forward to the vids each week. Keep on keeping on in whatvever way works for you. Hannah A by the way!

First of all, love the way your channel looks. The beauty of a day on a rural golf course can't be beat. Secondarily, as an American, I am kind of jealous of your choice of playing locations. Here in the states, a course of that beauty would cost a weeks wages and be out of reach for the average golfer.

As far as "Selling out", I wouldn't worry about that; hopefully one or more of these companies see the value in the content you're creating. I'm hoping you get sponsored by my "hometown team": PXG!!! As the majority have already stated in the comments sponsorship from brands shouldn't feel like selling out it's just a logical way to keep things progressing in the direction you want to take the channel long term. Andy, I do not see this is selling out. It is a pragmatic step for sure, but as others have posted as long as your sponsors allow you creativity, I think it is a good step. Can you do what nobody else is doing for golf, and that is helping put me in touch with the love of the game again. It seems that all the other channels focus on pushing product and totally forget the experience of the game. Keep doing what you are doing. I know the way to think this is that you are not selling anything, you are inviting them on a journey.

Andy, you get whatever sponsorship comes your way.
Your content is sublime, and the attributes of photos of the golf course and surrounds are equally impressive.
Merry Christmas & happy new year to all.
Looking forward to your you tube in 2024.

Another beautiful video of a course I had never heard of but what a stunning place for golf.
    For the pictures, Hannah a.
I have no issues with Andy getting sponsorship for videos because keeping the quality as high as this one is a time consuming activity

I think most of us would agree that you gotta do what you gotta do, and also, that your content/approach is not just different but very worthwhile. My suggestion: try to get a clothing contact/contract. This way you can look sharp, stay warm in those cold months(!), stay cool in the warmer months, and (most importantly?) maintain your independence when you review new clubs. Good Luck.....MG

Shropshire is a beautiful county. Quality over quantity is definitely the way forward. As a senior golfer who has just left his local golf club to join a society for exactly the same reason.Variety is the spice of life and if you need to gain sponsorship to make the numbers stack up, then do not hesitate. Andy D for me this time.

Good evening Andy, I have followed you for at least 5 years and lately not as much as I did but that's the same for all my utube channels i always thought the quality of your course videos is first class, your editing, music and choice of course is spot on. From January to March I will be away with no golf and if you go down your particular strength of finding and playing beautiful courses such as this one will suit me fine❤❤❤

Stunning and great value for money..the format is great Andy and connects in a way that seldom happens on RUclips. Sponsorship is a way of keeping this series going so go for it.
A real and admirably different way of taking us through your journey.. and your thinking. 👏🏻👏🏻

    Andy,
I dont think sponsorship is selling out...as long as you continue to give the same honest opinions you have always presented. Every sport known relies on sponsorship to help to make it so they can present the "best product" that they can possibly offer to its fans, and Sir I am a fan of your product! Please stop saying that you are "selling out" as I believe that you are doing what is neccesary to succeed and I for one truly want you to do just that. You have always come across as honest and genuine and I dont think that will change just because you have a sponsor. Just continue to be honest with yourself and the rest will take care of itself!
Thank you for your efforts and I look forward to each and every video!

We all try to achieve a low score but then there are the days we are out for a nice walk on a beautiful course and who really cares +5 or +10 at the end sit back relax have a pint. The content is great and relaxing to view. I hate channels pumping oh this is the best, ball, club etc. For the average person we play what works for us and as we age we adapt. For the photos Hannah has better eye on composition, more balanced but yours are still good, how could they be bad playing with that country side as a canvas.

Nice video Andy. I think most will understand that there are costs to what you do which have to be covered plus the profit to support you and your family. If sponsorship is what is needed to achieve that and allow you to create videos we and you all enjoy then I certainly don’t see it as a bad thing. All the best

Andy, been a member for a while and as commented on you content is superb, I live abroad and the visits you have to the smaller venues does make me homesick until I see the weather. It’s not a sellout in my opinion if you can continue to submit such great content, reading the comments should convince you to continue on your travels, and I wait with anticipation on your journey of discovery in 2024. Onwards and upwards, great cinematic content, some of the best on RUclips in my humble opinion.

A beautiful looking video, Andy. Church Stretton is a stunning location, although not a very good golf course. If you haven't visited Welshpool GC yet, then you most definitely should. It has incredible views and is a real challenge. Keep up the good work and good luck with the sponsorship.

Photo is Andy D - encapsulates Church Stretton landscape. I have walked all round there and it is wonderful. Andy, we all need a paid job to survive (unless you are very lucky or retired-like me). You cannot make such wonderful videos in such great locations without spending money and a good deal of time. I think most of your supporters understand this and will accept you need a 'brand' to help you achieve this. The key is getting the right brand who does not dictate your content but trusts you and likes what you do. Good luck.

It’s a good business decision Andy don’t ever think anything different, I’d hate to see your channel go away due to others jealousy, in my opinion getting sponsorship it shows what your doing has impact in the sport we all love, so you do you and I look forward to this years content!

Andy, I think you have found a unique style which suits you, I can't think of anyone else who does anything quite like it. There is a storytelling theme which is not centered on your performance but rather your experience of a place. As for selling out, it's a pejorative term aimed at those who sell their independence and judgement, I cannot see how that could apply to what you produce. We all seem to resist change and yet change is a constant in our lives, I'm not the golfer or person I was twenty years ago and I'll be different twenty years from now, and that applies to to you as well I'm sure. If sponsorship is needed to allow you to create content until it can stand on its own merits to a level which pays the bills then go for it, I promise I will only judge you on content, it's all I have ever done. Regards - Mark

    Hello Andy,
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your channel. I first came across your videos when you did a review of the PXG clubs I had just purchased. I've watched a few more videos, hit and miss, depending on the subject matter but I'm really enjoying your new format.
"Off The Beaten Track" has become a must watch for me with each new episode.
Also, picking a best pic is like picking a favorite child for me.

I’m at a crossroads in my golf putting us close in age. I’ll be 52 next month and absolutely love the game. There’s no selling out as long as it’s still the content you want to create. Just like there’s no selling out for me to pursue another swing technique as long as the game can still be enjoyed. My friend, it’s your channel and life, produce what you want as long as it is possible. My best my friend. Best wishes from Iowa.

With the help and encouragement of your wife and daughter Andy you've successfully nurtured a substantial following which enjoys the type of short films you're currently producing. You've grown your channel and are having a great time doing it! If you need the financial support from sponsors in order to continue then in my opinion you should go right ahead and enlist them.
Visiting a variety of regions and little known golf courses, providing viewers with useful information about the locality and any associated interesting history would make your output enjoyable and entertaining not only to golfers but also to their non-golfing partners too. I wish you and your family continuing success!

Hannah c for the win! 2nd goes to Hannah a (love the little guy in the picture). Getting sponsored is not selling out. Get the means to continue. As long as I'm not hearing about products/service every second, I don't mind how you keep going. I understand they're going to want to get something from the deal :), but it can be done tastefully and wouldn't bother me one bit. Thanks Andy for these very well produced videos. Andy I’ve been watching since the beginning and followed you not through changes but though your growth and quest to provide the best possible content. Through out this I’ve always felt that you were being honest in your approach to your viewers and that I appreciate. There is no way that I see accepting sponsors as a sellout, I don’t see how you can afford to travel and provide the fantastic content that you do without sponsors. Please keep it going and get as many sponsors as possible, thank you!😅
