Hi Andy. Great video,just got an x10s,first taranis I've had so all a bit new to me. With help of your video I managed to install opentx on it last night. ive noticed a low hissing noise from speaker now though? Does yours do that? I never noticed it on frsky OS? I contacted where I bought it and the guy said to try changing the antenna settings because it has internal and external ones? Any idea where to find that in opentx? Many thanks Geoff.

Hey Andy, I followed the flashing to OpenTX and all went with out a problem. But when I went to make a model there was only a plane for the model select and all the controls are wrong. What do I do?

In opentx can you still use the Bluetooth - Free link app for extended telemetry displays on a mobile device ( eg iPod touch)
I'd like to see both a how to update opentx well retaining all your created models and voice packs, I know it's more or less a simple thing... but there's no good all in one video on how to do it with the x10/x10s - plus a how to install the tbs chip mod for crossfire on the x10/x10s...

Hi did this process and tried to return the x10s and the controller doesn't power up and if I put the opentx back on it powers back up any idea?
Hey just a question? What can I do if I lost the original flash data? I still own the Fros.bin. Can I download the latest FIRMWARE from FrSKY.com?
what size sd card are you using ? Do I need a 16GB or larger sd card?

Andy. I did get aX10S. In the process of changing to Open TX. I noticed I did not have files for TBS crossfire on the SD card Like on my X9d unit. Should I proceed with the process. I really don’t want to screw this up. Thanks in advance for your response. Ben Herr
its hard to say. the first lot that came out years ago supported crossfire. how old is it? frsky locked everyone out at a certain point so its hard to say
@@AndyRCchannel I did find the crossfire - It was in one of the folders. So, I continued on. Found a Horis X10S at a good price and bought it. Knowing that I could change it to Open TX. Seemed easy enough. I am using Version 2.3.14 - 2021-7-23 SD Card 480x272.23 3V0038. Followed some on instructions 12-6-2017. All went well and when I was completed i hit the power button and Heard "Welcome to Open TX" but got a message about the throttle. Hit escape and then calibrated the sticks. Powered up again same thing. Checked everything in set up in Open TX. I did find that for some reason if I Hold the Pitch at the bottom and power off the message goes away. It seems like it is on Mode one set up?? I am really stuck, might you have any ideas? Thank you in advance. Ben Herr

I wanted to transfer my models from my XD9 Plus unit to the Horus X10-S Open TX can’t read the models from it That unit is running X9D+2019-2.310 - OTX (7ac1) My question is would the Horus need to be on the same version as the X9d to make this possible? Or am I doing this wrong? Thank you in advance for your response.
Boy nothing is easy with this stuff - I must be getting "Way Too Old"
Nobody covering Open TX on the X10S seems to mention that Open TX cannot change modes between FCC and LBT. If you want to change from FCC to LBT or vice versa, it can only be done by restoring FROS and flashing from there. I spent many happy hours trying from Open TX with no success.
I installed and went back to FrOS after I could not see the quadcopter devices , only the airplane and heli's on OpenTX 2.2.4 from here www.open-tx.org/2019/07/11/opentx-2.2.4 . What options did you need to actually get the database of drones and other flying devices?
Is it possible to download", default backup", my backup has been destroyed. I can´t get the orignale FrOS installed at all.. This is and even i follow you instruktions setp by stpe, My Horus X12S do NOT find internal Memoery or the SD-Card. But then i did the OpenTX installation both memoery was there. It seem like my Remote is cursed, I really Hate OpenTX.. its sucks. and I´m stock with that crap. any suggestion for download "orginal FrOS" backup.

after copying the files from the 16mb flash, do I need to delete them from the flash?
Pleas do an updating opentx vid I used this all that time ago but have never updated it because of the fear I'd mess something up and lose all my models or worse...

Use the Amber sound pack when flashing the new TX Firmware, the default is awful 🤨

Forgive my intrusive comments but I’m thinking of a satisfying way of getting my own back on my 10express. Basically I couldn’t bind the militant thingy to any thing so I tried to upload it with open Tx.
After deceiving myself into thinking i was capable of what apparently is a simple process…. I’ve got a useless lump of plastic I want revenge on. I’ve spent days on trying to get it working again and all I get is a sd config message. It doesn’t even laugh at me.
Part of me wants to take it skyward alight, and drop it from 400 ft on my DJI fpv onto the local church with a curse.

How to reinstall Horus FrOS X10S & X12S
Download latest firmware (there is .bin & .dfu files in the zip file) & FrOS SD contents from FrSky to PC
Copy SD Contents to a new SD Card (make sure there is a “SYSTEM” folder and if not then create one).
Copy the file “X10/X12 Bootload 1219.dfu” to the desktop
Copy the “.bin file” to the root directory of the SD Card and also to the “SYSTEM” folder.
Put SD card into transmitter.
Install “STM32bootloader” using Zadig from zadig.akeo.ie/
Install Companion9x and run (go to settings and setup transmitter).
Connect transmitter to PC with transmitter switched off, Click on “Write Firmware to Radio” and select the “X10/X12 Bootload 1219.dfu” file on desktop, then write it to the radio.
Click on “remove USB device” and disconnect transmitter.
Turn on transmitter by holding down the “Enter Button” and the “Power Button”.
Select the “.bin” file you copied to the SD Card and follow on screen instructions.
Restart and that’s it all done!
I tried this and it won't power up to bootloader menu with the SD card in the slot.. Any idea?
Just buy the taranis bois less headaches, much better
Taranis doesn't have an s-port. Made flashing my Rx much easier.

Drone Trooper FPV please review the graupner mz-12 pro. Pids can be changed from the radio without a computer. The radio transmitter also has a response time equal to their top of the model. Price is $199. Probably the best radio available. This brand is said to be made of higher quality that most.
