I wish FrSky would come out with a small, travel size controller with USB charging. Basically something like the concept of the Taranis Evolution without that xbox form factor.
Awesome video Steele im so glad to see you shared your pids setup especially with the new 1.3 rc25. I have tried to get a good tune on rc30 but adaptive filter just doesnt seem adaptable with the hq props... again thank you. I was almost ready to switch to race flight too and this video just gave me hope :)

With the extra range I got on my toy radio transmitter using you video I can promise when the warranty runs out on the X9D Plus it's getting the mod as well . Thats the best bang for the buck I've seen and it's relatively easy to do too . Just sayin thanks and , congrats on the award as well .

Hey Steele, you didn’t mention anything about the ergos of the X10 vice the X9d. As a pincher, how do you like the layout? Looks closer to an X7 than to the 9.

my taranis is original and only the push buttons are going.
gimballs replaced for the hell of it. not really noticing improvement in response or handling.
just got the qx7 more for basher radio

Hi Mr Steele! Is it possible to do a video on flashing opentx to the x10s? I had several issues during the flashing process and unable to troubleshoot most of them as this radio is still very new in the market compared to the x12s. Much appreciate it!
Nice review Steele. Always like a "pilot's perspective". By the way for those who don't want to modify their X9D with gimbal + antenna mod, you can also get the X9D Special Edition that is done for you.
someone mentioned about cutting the switches down on the x7 a bit for the same reason as you mentioned when pinching so you dont catch the switches by accident

any thoughts on the new X7S vs. the X9D? They are pretty similarly priced from what I can tell. Trying to determine which one to go with.

Are the distancs to the sticks from the side of the case on the X10 the same as the X7.
I find the sticks on the X7 hard to reach full deflection but Im ok on the X9.
And are the gimbals the same travel on both axis?

I have the X9D Plus SE. It seems to have SMA on the top. Does that mean I can buy a 5dbi Peter The Penetrator antenna ? Or do I still have to mod ???

Hi, how long can you fly with the little Lion ? I have an 3S Lipo on my X9D... and this hold a very very long time....
Really interesting. The X10 has that huge screen, tons of mixing options (on both FrOS and OTX) - it should really appeal to Heli and fixed wing people - but the only ones putting up reviews are quad flyers! Just ordered one, will be my first venture into OTX, but would love to get some insight into how complicated it is to program a full house glider on, with camber trim, butterfly mixing, flight conditions etc.
Thanks for sharing. Was tempted to get an X10S but given some of the daft design decisions! Leaning more to the X9D Plus Steele edition now :) They should release your edition of the X10S
For what I do a qx7 is great. I'll add m7 gimbals when need be. Got a lipo in it and it works great. I think they made it compatible with crossfire (didn't use to be). I like and don't have any regrets yet

Love your input and your reviews you should create your own product branding like rotor Riot used to be for you but again I know you wanted to do Top Gear style so you can add that little touch and add like maybe another person into it and I think you can get that having different personalities than each other kind of makes Top Gear so find some people that work with your flow that don't necessarily have to agree with it but still has the same love and passion as you do keep up the great work man

Mr. Steele, those lcd screens may be dated, but they are readable in direct sunlight. Is this nice color screen readable outside ?
What stand do you have fitting on the X10 in the thumbnail?
Kinda surprised you didnt mention the X7S in that mixup. Similar quirks, same weird charger, removable ni-mh battery, usb-MINI port (right angle cable pairs great with that btw) same aluminum gimbles and makes a pretty medium price point between the x10s and x7 without adding all the extra unwanted features.
You might be able to use an sma to sma adapter. That should bring up the sma from the recessed part. :D

In regards to view and all that helping. Does it make a difference if we watch all the seconds of the video or shut it down with a 30seconds to go??

Hi, Steele. This is Alex from Ukraine... Couple of points about X10S and X10: 1. Neck strap holder is made of aluminum. 2. Since ext. antenna pigtale is detachable and not soldered to the iXJT - you can take one with longer thread to use custom antennas. 3. Yes- the bottom antenna is for bluetooth module. Cheers!
IryxBRO Aerials dude, thx a lot. To me, this flaw was buy or nobuy decision. Didn't want to burn rf modules tp have this feature. Have they solved the charger issue on production?
Hi, Nice video, i see you have the opentx on it. I have the same with the opentx 2.2.1RC1 and i can't bind it to my xsr Non EU.
I put the xsr lbt on the sd card to flash external device but it doesn't work 🤔

I have tried them all including Jeti. My favourite is the X9D SE
I always carry a spare battery for my taranis when flying, and I have frequently loaned it out to people who run out in the field. Not beeing able to swap batteries in the field is a deal breaker for me, other than that it looks nice
Can't you file off some of the plastic on the end of ""Peter the Penetrator " instead of reaming out the radio hole ? Also could you charge it with a powered hub and USB 3 ?
Is the x10s worth double the money plus some to get vs getting the Qx7S?

Hey Steele. It would be really great if you would do a video about pros/cons on using connectors vs. hard soldering parts of quad together. Since some people say that connectors unplug and are unsafe to use for connecting everything but if you modify your build often I see no reason why you wouldn't use them. Anyways in FB groups there multiple discussions on that, but I still didn't get the picture of what is better and I think also a lot of other viewers didn't, so your opinion would be great. Thanks.

Managed to avoid disarming the quad so far pinching the X7 but it's a lot of effort and had an epic fail today with frozen hands. Will definitely be moving the outer switches to the top of the radio, not really sure what they were thinking with that one....
