I knew every single time I spent $50 on HBO to watch Tyson fight, it was only going to last a few minutes. I knew it but I loved watching Mike's magic. His power. His total and complete control.
It inspired me to take on challenges and stay the course when things got tough.
I knew my $50 was gone the minute I called HBO but I also knew boxing history was being made.
    Thank you Mike. Iron Mike.

Much respect for Mike Tyson !! He said in a recent interview he wanted to destroy Trevor Berbick, because Berbick was a bully and the way Berbick unloaded on an over the hill Muhamad Ali that was way past his prime. Mike Tyson said that wasn't the right thing to do, So he unloaded on Berbick in that fight and got his revenge so to speak. Way to go Mike !!

Tyson didn't do anything to Holmes on behalf of Ali you moron. Ali and Holmes were very good friends, and Ali needed the payday. Ali got $8 million to stand in a corner and eat punches for 30 minutes, $8 MILLION. When Holmes came out of retirement to fight Tyson, it was because they offered him $3 million dollars to do so. The fight game is about money for these guys. Your comment is about as moronic as saying Lennox Lewis or Danny Williams beat up Tyson to "avenge" Holmes when Tyson was over the hill too. Tyson has the utmost respect for Larry Holmes, and they even did a speaking tour together a few years ago. You can search Tyson and Holmes at Turning Stone casino where they sit in front of an audience and talk about their fight, it's quite funny, and Tyson has nothing but admiration for Holmes.

On top of this, Berbick was one of these fighters that opponents had trouble "looking good" against. And Tyson destroyed this guy in a clinical and utterly dominant manner. Jack Johnson, put as much fear in opponents hearts like Iron Mike did.

Back then everyone talked about Mike's power but no one gave him credit for his great defense, Cus taught Mike the peak-a-boo that had made other great boxers champions way before Mike. Mike fought some really hitters and he was rocked on several occasions but kept his cool and remembered to cover up , weather the storm and come back. Very few fighters ever had the heart like Mike Tyson. When Cus died Mike lost his rock and changed Trainor's and managers and was never the same. Mike fought to make Cus proud and without that he wasn't ever the same.
