  • The Alienated parent called John outlines that Parental Alienation is a non gendered form of #childabuse & #coercive control that goes unpunished in Ireland by the courts and social services and that Ireland needs to become more aware of it and address it just like other abuse scandals. He commended Charlie Magill on his challenging walk to raise awareness of parental alienation and mental health and the work that Alienated Children First (alienated.ie) are doing on this issue. Neill Prendeville done an excellent interview here and was was very empathetic and yet probing in his questioning.
Parental Alienation has been described by the Present Irish Minister of Justice Helen McEntee as “a situation when a child’s resistance or hostility towards one parent is not justified and is the result of psychological manipulation by the other parent.” Previously no Irish Minister even acknowledged that Parental Alienation even existed yet the problems caused by its existence continue climbing. Lifelong trauma for alienated children (and parents) is well known and researched yet no legislation or social services are in place to address this awful form of child abuse & coercive control. Alienated Children First is a parent led NGO who hopes to change this and influence Ireland to intervene and stop parental alienation through legislation, effective services, education and awareness.

It's not always the parent. The narcissistic grandmother can commit this heinous crime also.

That's a long wait for some to endure until the kids are adults.
Grandparents are often dead and buried. Cousins have grown up. As you said, some parents have also died...
    Evil people, causing generational trauma.

I want to explain the in camera rule as far as I'm aware and I was told the word in Camera is Latin for in Private so when you see a sign on the family court room saying family court in camera what there actually saying family court in private hence the Private family court.
