Yes, you can connect a PC with ethernet cable directly to one Deco. You can also connect two meshes to each other with cable, but the speed from the MAIN deco to the Second deco will be limited to 100Mbps, because the E4 models don't have Gigabit ports (only 10/100 ports), so it's better to link them wirelessly, because the speed is faster through 5GHz band that they are equipped with, assuring no data loss. I have two E4 decos, and I am waiting for an M4 deco to arrive, because it has a Gigabit port.

As I’ve said, the ethernet here is capped at 100Mbps, so you’ll need to get another model like M4 or M5 that supports speed up to 1000Mbps. Then afterwards you can get these E4s to expand your network wirelessly

Yep, costs considerably more though, and because my internet is only 20Mbps this is enough for me. Also I can still get an M4 in the future and make it the main router, and the E4 is still more than capable handling more than 10Mbps through the air
No 2nd floor is now at full speed, and 3rd floor isn't that bad either, not to mention the roaming is so good which is the whole point of upgrading to a mesh wi-fi

Great info! I too have 3 floor home. And use xiaomi extender Pros like you do. I put my router in middle floor while one each in my top and bottom floor. Sub par... From 30-40mbps I can only gw like 5mbps in my extenders... At best. Am thinking to switch right now...

@@namedkenn there are now available units that they call "renewed units" (basically refurbished units) that are not that expensive and a fraction of the original price, but still works and looks good as new. If you buy the package of three, i think it will cover your whole house with stable and fast internet ☺️👍
That's exactly the reason why I chose this instead, and second biggest reason is the App, which is crucial in setting and managing the routers. I doubt I can make a comparison in the future but honestly, I don't really trust the brand, yet. And so far, from what I see in blog reviews, the Tendas are on the lowest end of the graph so, I think you get what you pay for here.

It's like this: internet -> router -> main deco -> all the other decos So the other deco either connects to the main deco wirelessly (add it from the app) or you run a cable, but never to the router

I have to have my roommates have someone mess with the dish. I'm sure after a few crazy storms over the years has moved it a bit. Because for the amount they are paying they aren't getting their true potential. Their speeds are about 7 mbs. I switched to their original router and the same speed but I only had 70 percentage connection to the signal.

Also is it possible to turn off the WPS which is a big security issue. And also i'm a little bit concerned about mandatory registration on their app, so they probably have your passwords and data and if someone hack them it will be huge problem.

They can extend the internet to PCs over LAN, though your speed will be limited to 100Mbps (unless you buy M4 or others with Gigabit Ethernet, since the wifi is already more than 100Mbps)

hey, thanks for the review, i have a question, assuming you're still using the deco e4, currently i'm using tenda mw3 as mesh wifi system, but it has problem with the latest firmware which limit the 5ghz speed to only 10Mbps specifically on smartphone (still full speed on pc or laptop) and has no firmware update since then nor any support regarding the 5ghz problem (the forum had been abandoned by the admin for a year), so does the deco e4 has this 5ghz problem or everything just works fine?
Dang as someone who once considered Tenda, I am so glad I went with Deco. After the reset add the unit back in the app, I’ve gotten it one time but not sure what I did I fixed it, perhaps move it closer to the main unit?

You still have to connect this router to the internet modem by cable, and that’s where the bottleneck will be

Yeah man of course! But as I’ve said at the end, it is limited to 100Mbps. All the 2 ports can be used as WAN/LAN/Ethernet Backbone between routers

hey, thanks for the review, i have a question, assuming you're still using the deco e4, currently i'm using tenda mw3 as mesh wifi system, but it has problem with the latest firmware which limit the 5ghz speed to only 10Mbps specifically on smartphone (still full speed on pc or laptop) and has no firmware update since then nor any support regarding the 5ghz problem (the forum had been abandoned by the admin for a year), so does the deco e4 has this 5ghz problem or everything just works fine?
Dang as someone who once considered Tenda, I am so glad I went with Deco. Anyways since this video I’ve literally set the system in another one of my father’s office, his own apartment, as well as my friends house, and the results has been nothing short of perfect 🙌🏻 great speed and coverage everywhere
