Hello, my name is Adri, I'm from Mexico 🇲🇽, I'm 35 years old and I've been a super fan of Icehouse since 2015, I met the band that year, but in 2014 I found the song De Great Souther land and from there I fell in love with the band, really Iva Daves is a poet and I like him from before he was young and currently he is an incredibly singer-songwriter, I still dream of him coming to Mexico City 🇲🇽 to sing. Long live Australia!!!

Stunning. Thank you so much for posting this. Iva’s voice in this 83 concert absolutely matches his voice in the Great Southern Land album. And it is superb to see Guy Pratt ( lockdown licks !) and Pink Floyd fame in bass looking youthful ! Love your work @guypratt

Just love those turn of the decade (1980 era) synth sounds. I’m a guitar player and love my cranked Marshall’s but listened to a lot of synth music from this era. But a lot of it would have guitars as well like Icehouse did. They often complimented each other really well.

I saw Icehouse at Perkins Palace in Pasadena, Ca. on Saturday, October 17, 1981. There was an opening band who's name I don't remember, but they were good. They set the tone for what came next. Ready? The one and only Bruce "Babyman" Baum. The comedian. I had never heard of him. He was a riot. And then, Icehouse. I think they were touring the album "Great Southern Land". Fantastic concert.

Primitive Man. It would have been the launch of the album. We were still into their original album in Australia - Icehouse, AND their name was just transitioning from 'Flowers', their band name on the 'Icehouse' album. Some group that didn't go very far, were already using the name 'Flowers', in USA. That forced the change to 'Icehouse' . I was not impressed at the time, as Flowers was really their name first. (Despite being on the other side of the world!!) Later on the 'Icehouse' name was cool, and worked out for the best.
