We've been trying to make a few more videos that are just us having fun, shooting bows.. What did ya'll think? Any requests for videos coming up? - Tim (tdd)
Building heavy arrows in the weight range of 550gr and up and then long bombing them at 100 yards and up. There's not much stuff out about heavy arrows - regardless of if you actually need them or not.
These are some of my favorite videos! I love the testing of new and different products. Hearing different people thoughts on different products is very helpful with my own tinkering!
I was patiently waiting to watch Dan try the wise guy. Dan's reaction gave me a good laugh. Wise guy was my first release and even for a first release it was way too hot for me.
Very well done. This helped a tremendous amount for someone like me in a roural area where i can't go try a release. Thanks for this review. Very professional and answeed all my qestions.
I highly recommend the Scott longhorn pro micro. I have shot all kinds of releases including the ultra view. The Scott is super comfortable. I am surprised more of you guys don't like a hinge for hunting.
I have been using the "WiseGuy" for almost 2 years and haven't loved it. I recently bought the new "Stan SoleX" index release and I am liking it much better. I can actually rest my finger on the trigger and pull thru instead of breathing wrong and sending the arrow.
FYI FOLKS, a trigger style needs to be adjustable for some travel (1/16" or so) and a heavy tension to be used halfass correctly. If there's no travel adjustment in your trigger keep the tension set so you HAVE TO PULL ON THE THING! I used a Carter Quickie Plus for years for all shooting. I learned heavy and hard will teach you to pull with back muscles LIKE YOUR ARE SUPPOSED TO!!! Setting it light will undoubtedly lead to driveby punching nearly every time.
Even I alternate use carter target 3+ and wise choice also I felt the differences when shooting the same bow. Nice video and I learn with you guys too !
absolutely love the spot hog wise guy. my only complaint as you mentioned was the trigger sensitivity. I've switched to a handheld a few years back (currently using a Stan perfex), but every now and then bring out the wise guy. that release out shot the many I've owned/tried is still the most accurate I've ever been. I'm good with a handheld 80% of the time, that release is/was money.
Hey guys! I just ordered some X Impacts from Black Ovis with the #Elkshape vanes! Wanted to say thank you for the discount code, can’t wait to try them out!!
The Wise Guy is a good release but I absolutely hated the trigger tension on it. I switched over to the Tuff Guy and loved the trigger tension. Eventually I switched to a Wise choice but now i shoot the the Hinge. I will play around with others again threw out the summer.
Cool video for sure! You should review the Scott Verge new hybrid style wrist strap and I have been a thumber for a while and this thing felt nice! I personally think there is a difference between command shooting and punching and what your buddy does appears to be a command shoot I don't really see him punch it. Some of the best shooters in the world currently are command shooters. Just a matter of what works for each person.
Enjoyed this one!.. takes some time to truly bond with a release. Once you settle on one it can be hard to switch. I like to buy and try different ones a bunch, but I keep going back to the same ones that I know the best. I really like the Trufire Synapse, thumb release, as #1 right now
Pulling through is not for everyone. I have consistent anchor points and grip. I don’t punch the trigger I just put pressure on it until it goes off. My theory is use whatever works for you. I’d get rid of those fancy thumb releases and shoot an index. You have to think too much to pull through which causes panic and if not done properly creates torque.
Would love to see a video of swapping your own personal releases. Or were these your own personal releases? I thought they were just ones you pulled off a shelf.
I have shot the wise guy since it was released its the best wrist strap release on the market . I have 3 of them one for target one I bent the trigger back for hunting and an extra I thought I lost and replaced with the one for target . Love it. I taught myself back tension on the wise guy and am very interested in shooting a thumb or back tension releas been looking at them the market is so flooded I know there is one out there that is great without the ridiculous price tags of the brand barbies
I shoot the execution from truball and it's all the way as heavy as it can go, I get good preload on the trigger before it fires. So many indexes are set up waaay wrong and that's why so many people don't like them lol index triggers are real releases too!
Tim i wonder if ya draw length is just a .5” too long the way you anchor then have to bring your head and nose to the side and back behind the string instead of just staying straight up posture then dipping your head and nose into the string ever so slightly…just thinking out loud here. Love the content as always. You guys and MFJJ are the balls
Kinda hard to see who is doing the best as you'll have to sight in with each release. Your gunna get all different impact points anyway.. by a long shot. It makes a big difference when you change your release.
I love the wise guy release lol, it's hot af though, get on target then wrap finger (barley touch it) then pull through Edit add on: I've since switched to the tru ball execution and it's by far the best index release out that I've tried. Super adjustable great feel, dual sear, clean break, you can actually get your finger wrapped around the trigger without worrying about setting it off. You can set the position of the trigger in multiple ways as well. Test it out guys
I'm wondering why the nock on backstrap isn't on here. Is it a branding issue? I only know of one other release like it so I just felt it should be represented. (Full disclosure, it's what I shoot these days)
Shoot shoot shoot releases don't mean much if all you had was one and shot the Jesus out of it you would be surprised look at the trigger slapper if you get into his head and change him he will have to work hard to get as good as he is doing (doing it the wrong way )lol I like to see everyone's thoughts on different ways and releases thanks great video
Get Josh Jones to shoot in the vids. Talk is cheap! I wanna see his knowledge in action instead of him tryna French kiss and make babies with bows in the thumbnail of podium reviews! Elk shape made him famous he owes you!!!… and us!
We've been trying to make a few more videos that are just us having fun, shooting bows.. What did ya'll think? Any requests for videos coming up? - Tim (tdd)
Love it dude. Shooting competitions never get old!
These are honestly the videos I like the most. This, bow builds, and abt/gear videos. Can’t get enough
Building heavy arrows in the weight range of 550gr and up and then long bombing them at 100 yards and up. There's not much stuff out about heavy arrows - regardless of if you actually need them or not.
Great stuff
These are some of my favorite videos! I love the testing of new and different products. Hearing different people thoughts on different products is very helpful with my own tinkering!
I love that this showed everyone messing up, (Dan mainly) and it wasn’t edited out so everyone shot perfect shots. You guys are rad, don’t stop!
I was patiently waiting to watch Dan try the wise guy. Dan's reaction gave me a good laugh. Wise guy was my first release and even for a first release it was way too hot for me.
Crazy how changing a release can make you feel like you have never even shot a bow before! Great stuff guys!
Love the wise guy!
The hinge is my go to!! Practice with it and I bet all of you would love it above all those other releases💯💯!!
Aha awesome video, good idea always working on bettering the shot process and keeping it a surprise
Very well done. This helped a tremendous amount for someone like me in a roural area where i can't go try a release. Thanks for this review. Very professional and answeed all my qestions.
Glad it helped!
I got a huge kick out of this! I firmly believe in shooting with a controlled surprise shot no matter what release is used
Awesome boys love this it’s great!!!
Love it guys! It's all about having fun.
Thats is the funniest sheet watchin you guys shoot that index.. thank You for the laughs..
Great video! Looks like you all had a blast.
Love this video! Dan's expression 💯 priceless!
What is the wiggle pre shot that drew does? Not critiquing just asking? I see he is consistent in his routine
Shot the wise choice a few weeks back. Definitely a great release
wise choice = wise choice!
That was fun to watch!
Love how you guys are always keeping it real
I like these videos. Shoes everyone is human and we all make mistakes once in a while. Love the videos
Yeah we're trying to make videos that are real and fun! - tc
Word. It's like hanging out with the boys. Lots a fun
As Joel would say keep hammering on the spot Hogg.
I highly recommend the Scott longhorn pro micro. I have shot all kinds of releases including the ultra view. The Scott is super comfortable. I am surprised more of you guys don't like a hinge for hunting.
Cool video.. if I wasn't on the east coast I like to sling some arrows down range with you guys..
Wise Guy is my first and as of yet the only one I have. Looking at a Silverback.
fun video guys!
Loved this, definitely can’t wait to get together with some shooters and try this out
Go for it!
Loved the Dan reaction from shooting the wise guy haha I would have had the same reaction 😂
I have been using the "WiseGuy" for almost 2 years and haven't loved it. I recently bought the new "Stan SoleX" index release and I am liking it much better. I can actually rest my finger on the trigger and pull thru instead of breathing wrong and sending the arrow.
Exactly

Great video guys, I'm a trigger puncher!! Hahaha ,, thinking my next one is the Scott sigma
Even I alternate use carter target 3+ and wise choice also I felt the differences when shooting the same bow. Nice video and I learn with you guys too !
Great video. 👍
Hey Tim or Dan when will y’all have some elk shape plates back in stock. Looking for the white? Thanks
i have used a few different releases, but only a few. i have not done well with hand releases, and i stick to trigger punching
absolutely love the spot hog wise guy. my only complaint as you mentioned was the trigger sensitivity. I've switched to a handheld a few years back (currently using a Stan perfex), but every now and then bring out the wise guy. that release out shot the many I've owned/tried is still the most accurate I've ever been. I'm good with a handheld 80% of the time, that release is/was money.
I 100 percent agree. It is still always in the bag. Just flat out reliable.
And….because of you, I now shoot one!
Great Video! I have never shot a back tension release, any advise before I try?
Follow the directions.. Start it heavier and then back it off until it's good! If possible setup at an archery shop
Great video, just goes to show, if you don’t practice you won’t be good. Can you go over camp essentials between you guys? Thanks
Hey guys! I just ordered some X Impacts from Black Ovis with the #Elkshape vanes! Wanted to say thank you for the discount code, can’t wait to try them out!!
I love my true ball trigger release
I've never met randy ulmer, but my understanding was his release pouch was full of hinges without a click set with different amounts of travel.
The Wise Guy is a good release but I absolutely hated the trigger tension on it. I switched over to the Tuff Guy and loved the trigger tension. Eventually I switched to a Wise choice but now i shoot the the Hinge. I will play around with others again threw out the summer.
word!
Tim, what insert are you using on the TKOs? Looks like you also have impact collars.
That hinge looks terrifying with the pre-click
Hey guys can you let me know where I can find out more about your hip quivers?
Cool video for sure! You should review the Scott Verge new hybrid style wrist strap and I have been a thumber for a while and this thing felt nice!
I personally think there is a difference between command shooting and punching and what your buddy does appears to be a command shoot I don't really see him punch it. Some of the best shooters in the world currently are command shooters. Just a matter of what works for each person.
noted!
Watching y’all command all of those releases explains to me why for the most part y’all hated the the Hinge!🤣
Wah are you shoot a VXR 28 in this video?
Love this video, had me laughing because I know I would of been flinging arrows in the dirt if I did the same thing 😂🤷🏼♂️
What kind of leg quiver do you guys use?
Enjoyed this one!.. takes some time to truly bond with a release. Once you settle on one it can be hard to switch. I like to buy and try different ones a bunch, but I keep going back to the same ones that I know the best. I really like the Trufire Synapse, thumb release, as #1 right now
Yup I have a release and use it on both bows I tried a new release on the new bow and couldn't do it
Pulling through is not for everyone. I have consistent anchor points and grip. I don’t punch the trigger I just put pressure on it until it goes off. My theory is use whatever works for you. I’d get rid of those fancy thumb releases and shoot an index. You have to think too much to pull through which causes panic and if not done properly creates torque.
I had the same issue with the wise guy… out of the package one of the lightest triggers I’ve ever used….
You really need to set the hinge up first and then shoot. The click should go off as you hit your anchor spot
This was a very entertaining video. Maybe do something similar but get more familiar with the release with a shot trainer first?
What hip quiver are you using? Thanks
Lol from the last release video, I had a feeling someone was going to have their release super hot and fling an arrow into the dirt lol
Idaho you can use mechanical heads and lighted nocks now!!!
Would love to see a video of swapping your own personal releases. Or were these your own personal releases? I thought they were just ones you pulled off a shelf.
They were ours
@@ElkShape after watching it more I did come to realize that. Definitely a fun challenge. I have 3 different ones that I bounce between.
Dan what hip quiver are you running?
Tim you gotta try the hinge 2. Its great
Me high as fuck: man those targets look super real.
PS: it was his dog 😆
Next time include the Go 2 it release from TRU ball
Great video, enjoyment it alot. Also enjoyed being able to see thru Tim's peep as well :}
Lol, what no carter nock2it?! 🤣 (sarcastic and rhetorical)
what no honey, stan, truball? lol
I used to shoot a wise guy so well but since switching to a handheld thumb button, I can hardly shoot a index anymore.
I personally don't use hinge. I prefer thumb releases. I get more control but also execute better shots.
Dan was so mad on the wise guy miss fires🤣🤣🤣
TDD! - tc
Why no love for the standard perfex?
Dan definitely got taken down in this one!
Lol
I Love my UV Hinge 2.
No better release than your 3 fingers and a shooting glove :p Great content man.
I shoot the execution from truball and it's all the way as heavy as it can go, I get good preload on the trigger before it fires. So many indexes are set up waaay wrong and that's why so many people don't like them lol index triggers are real releases too!
How crisp is the trigger set heavy? I have the TRU Ball Fang and i dont like how spongy it feels unless its set super light.
@@_DeFiNiTeLy_Not_BrAd_ not spongey at all, no movement before it fires whether it's light or heavy
I’m not going to lie it looked like the trigger punchers won with most of the releases
I love the wise guy release lol, it's hot af though, get on target then wrap finger (barley touch it) then pull through
Edit add on: I've since switched to the tru ball execution and it's by far the best index release out that I've tried. Super adjustable great feel, dual sear, clean break, you can actually get your finger wrapped around the trigger without worrying about setting it off. I would like to see a video on best set up for people wearing glasses……….
I'm wondering why the nock on backstrap isn't on here. Is it a branding issue? I only know of one other release like it so I just felt it should be represented. (Full disclosure, it's what I shoot these days)
I shot ya a text. Hope to hear from ya
I guess some people learned that they should get on target prior to putting their fingers on the trigger 😅
Try the same target for 5 shots, but each shot is a different arrow configuration.
Wow, no love for the Hinge @tim. #TeamHinge #ClickBoom
i shoot a resistance. I think it has the most punch resistance, but obviously very bad for hunting
Answer to making fools of yourselves......Absolutely!! Best thing to shooting in a group is to start the smack talk. Makes for some great laughs 👊🏻
Hmmm??⏫️⏫️⏫️
Pull! After the click...
U needed MFJJ to be the 5th guy
but he is scared lol - tc
It baffles me how people are so scared of hinges! 🤣
I love hinges wouldn’t go any other way!!
@@joearagon4261 I just got into them this year. I can't go back to a thumb button
It looks like TDD is working
Anyone hunting with a thumb release?
Jake what are you doing with your nose? It’s not on the strings lol.
Entresting
TC....MFJJ needs to fix your peep rotation 😉
it's fixed.. fixed it myself!
Trigger punchers drive the coolest trucks and get the hottest chicks 😎 👊🏻 lol
And win Vegas back to back lol
