  • I changed the oil in both my diesel Caterpillar 3116 for the first time. I decided to use old gas cans to catch the old oil which made the job easy and clean. The gas jugs also made it easy to transport the old oil to the dumping station.
The boat is equipped with a Reverso oil system.

The cost of having it done by an outside service is extremely expensive.

Is there a valve you have to open on the bottom of the engine going to the oil extractor?

There is not valve; however, I did remove the filler cap after warming the engines to allow air to enter as the oil is being extracted.
