    You add "onion powder" twice, but the two powders are of different colour. Is the other powder garlic or ginger? Then: stab as "many 'what' as possible" with the fork? Or do you mean "as 'much/as often' as possible"? Also, the tray of the air fryer has a non-stick coating, so there is no need to waste any aluminium foil "to cut down on cleaning".

    • @TheCookingIsland
      @TheCookingIsland  2 месяца назад

      Sorry, it’s my typing mistake, the other powder is garlic powder. You can use the fork to poke the meat as often as possible. Lastly, as my experience, although the air-fryer has non-stick coating, it takes me a lot of effort to clean the tray after using without the foil. You can give it a try 😄

    • @einundsiebenziger5488
      @einundsiebenziger5488 2 месяца назад

      @@TheCookingIsland Thanks for the quick reply. Tip: I use soap-free steel wool pads, they work like magic to clean greasy, sticky stuff from surfaces. Yet, they are less aggressive than the green side of regular dish sponges as they don't scratch non-stick coatings. These pads are almost infinitely resusable thus saving miles of aluminium foil.

    • @TheCookingIsland
      @TheCookingIsland  2 месяца назад

      Pollo Char Siew nell'Air Fryer Facile
      Ingredienti:
      Cosce di pollo / Petto di pollo, oppure spalla di maiale, usa la parte che preferisci
      Condimenti: Sale, Salsa di Soia, Salsa di Soia Scura, Zucchero, Salsa di Ostriche, Polvere di Cipolla e Aglio, Pepe, Polvere Cinque Spezie, Miele, Tofu rosso fermentato / colore alimentare rosso (opzionale)
      Vino da Cucina & Olio Vegetale / Olio di Sesamo
      Istruzioni:
      Pollo Char Siu:
      Usa una forchetta per forare il pollo, così la salsa può essere facilmente assorbita!
      Salsa Char Siu:
      1/2 cucchiaio di polvere di cipolla
      1/2 cucchiaio di polvere d'aglio
      1/4 cucchiaio di sale
      1/2 cucchiaino di polvere di cinque spezie
      1/4 cucchiaio di pepe
      1,5 cucchiai di zucchero di canna
      1,5 cucchiai di salsa di soia
      1 cucchiaio di salsa di soia scura

      Marinatura:
      Marinate la carne per almeno 4 ore o durante la notte per ottenere il miglior risultato.
      Air Frying:
      Air fry a 350-370°F (170-180°C) per 15 minuti. Dopo metà del tempo, giralo dall'altro lato.
      Glassatura:
      Spennella una salsa lucidante (salsa avanzata + 1 cucchiaio di miele) per renderla più brillante e saporita.
      Air fry a 370°F (180°C) per altri 1-2 minuti. Attenzione, si brucia facilmente in questa fase!
      Regolazioni:
      Regola temperatura e tempo di cottura in base alle dimensioni della carne e all'air fryer.

      Vinho de Cozinha & Óleo Vegetal / Óleo de Gergelim
      Instruções:
      Frango Char Siu:

      1/2 colher de sopa de pó de alho
      1/4 colher de sopa de sal

      1 colher de sopa de vinho de cozinha
      1 colher de sopa de mel
      Marinada:
      Marine a carne por pelo menos 4 horas ou durante a noite para obter o melhor resultado.
      Air Frying:
      Air fry a 350-370°F (170-180°C) por 15 minutos. Após metade do tempo, vire-o para o outro lado.
      Envidraçamento:
      Pincele um molho de brilho (molho restante + 1 colher de sopa de mel) para torná-lo mais brilhante e saboroso.
      Air fry a 370°F (180°C) por mais 1-2 minutos. Cuidado, queima facilmente nesta fase!
      Ajustes:
      Ajuste a temperatura e o tempo de cozimento de acordo com o tamanho da carne e da air fryer.

    Omit the brown sugar (the other ingredients are more than sweet enough); omit the salt (plenty in the soy and oyster sauces), omit the 'vegetable' (seed) oil, it is a superfluous poison. These steps will enhance your recipe.

    • @sergel02
      @sergel02 4 месяца назад +72

      Ehh most char siu recipes I’ve seen uses both brown sugar and honey. A tablespoon of honey isn’t really enough for sweetness unless you’re using ingredients not used here.

    • @alangeorgebarstow
      @alangeorgebarstow 4 месяца назад +11

      @@sergel02 Maybe they do but adding extra sugar to most recipes is an unnecessary step; especially as sugar consumption is the most detrimental-to-health aspect in modern eating. You keep banging in the sugar, salt and seed oils, pal. You won't catch me joining you in intensive care.

      Some people just want to suck all the joy out of everything. All good things in moderation, according to Julia Child. Better to partake sparingly than dilute the indulgent nature of the craft.
      I've roasted countless batches of char siu / boneless spareribs in a professional kitchen, I can tell you that marinade would be loaded with straight white sugar, not even brown. Honey is applied as a finishing glaze when a serving is heated for that order.
      You are welcome to cower in a lifetime of ascetism but don't discount other people's appreciation of flavor or ability to lead a well-balanced active lifestyle that allows for sensuous pleasures.

    • @alangeorgebarstow
      @alangeorgebarstow 4 месяца назад

      @@alansmithee.01 Just so that you are in no doubt, I cower before no one and am under no illusion. I raised the spectre of excess sugar consumption because it is the singularly the most insidious of all modern addictions and is - in a massive way - the prime driver for the epidemic of gross clinical obesity that infects many countries today, but most spectacularly in The US of A. ruclips.net/video/UV4HORgJmUo/видео.html
      I do not know of any 'Julia Child' but I can tell you that, whoever she is, she is way off track if she still perpetuates the myth of "all good things in moderation". That idiocy was the brainchild of the global corporations who insist that people eat their sugar-laden, ultra-processed crap, three or four times a day, solely for the purpose of making them richer and more powerful.
      Frank Zappa was on the money when he declared, “Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.” I am a firm believer that the consumption of sugar (as well as seed oils and most types of vegetation) is directly responsible for this planet -the only environment known to support life - having an obscene overpopulation of more than eight billion imbeciles who are getting more stupid by the second. The global corporations know this, that is why they incessantly keep advocating that people continue to buy and eat their 'idiot food' in order to retain that mass stupidity of a gormless population.
      You continue eating cancer-causing refined sugar and see how quickly your health deteriorates. I'll stick to eating proper nutritious food: meat, fish, eggs, cheese and dairy; the consumption of which is natural for the human species and was responsible for its rise to superiority before all that was curtailed by the modern obsession for eating crap and, resultantly, dying young, enfeebled and weak.
